ProRoofing replaced our roof in late 2019. They told us that they would remove all the old vents and replace them with a ridge vent. Explaining that it's a more modern and better system for attic ventilation compared to what we had since our house was built in the 80's. When they completed the job I noticed that there were still air vents and no ridge vent. I enquired about it and was told that we didn't need the ridge vent and what we had was good enough. So I accepted the explanation as they are the so called professionals?? Several weeks ago we decided to remove all the insulation from the attic and have it replaced. so we contacted a few companies to give us estimates. What they found was that the entire attic was covered in mold from the lack of ventilation. They found that ProRoofing had covered both gable vents with roofing underlayment. 2 of the 5 roof vents were installed incorrectly and were placed halfway over the holes cut in the roof, essentially ventilating 50% of what each vent should have been venting. All 3 companies that gave me estimates also calculated that ProRoofing should have installed 5 additional soffit vents and 3 additional roof vents to meet building code standards. I called and spoke with reception at ProRoofing several times. It was a week before Christian the head of repairs returned my call. It took another 3 weeks to get an appointment and of course Christian was supposed to arrive at 9am. I called at 10am, he finally returned my call at 11am, saying the appointment window was between 9-12. of course he never showed and sent someone else in his place to take a look. I spoke with Christian after the inspection. He tried to say that the contract is "replace like for like" even though the contract clearly states vents will be added if necessary! He also said that Proroofing never covered the gable vents. I guess they must have covered themselves?? He said the reason for the mold was due to the insulation covering the baffles which stopped the circulation of the air. He refused to have anything to do with the mold remediation and said that ProRoofing has no liability for any underlying issues we may have. Well it's ProRoofing's bad workmanship which does not meet the required code that has caused my underlying issues of mold, which is going to cost me $7500 to have corrected. Our new roof was installed on the hottest days of August 2016 at which time roof vents (RV38 metal) were replaced with ridge vents. I agreed to this even though I was skeptical due to the windy location of our house. John B. assured me that they would work fine. They came back right away to fix a few things (before I would pay in full): 1. Installed Lead Pipe Jacks as originally agreed 2. Replaced a couple shingles that were damaged 3. Replaced damaged gutters January 2020 - they promptly came out and fixed a shingle that blew off. February 2021 - Very fine snow blew in thru the ridge vents. It melted and left 3 leak spots on our ceiling. I contacted them repeatedly for a few months. After I already gave up on them, they said they would order materials and be out to fix it (by removing the ridge vents and putting back the original type of vents). Someone did show up for the appointment but no work was performed (just measurements). I let Joshua know and he said it would be (re)scheduled that day (in September). That's the last time I ever heard from them. Bottom line: Their 10 year warranty is almost worthless. Do not convert to ridge vents if you live in a windy spot. read more

If we could give this company a zero star review like many other reviewers we would without hesitation. We had them install a new roof in 2017 and now we are needing the rubber seals around the bathroom exhaust vents replaced. The rubber is completely cracked and water is actively going into the attic and causing water damage. Pro Roofing NW is not willing to take responsibility and cover the cost of repairing under their amazing ten year warranty. They are saying that we agreed to have these cheap rubber seals installed when we bought the roof. Yet they are not willing to provide proof of any agreement which they claim they have. We know that we never agreed to having these cheap seals installed. They want to charge us $850 to replace these garbage rubber seals with the same exact ones! We contacted a different company about this problem and they explained that they have a standard and use only lead material. This makes sense as it does not degrade over time. [PLEASE READ IN FULL] If I could give this roofing company (and Nu Ray Metals) zero stars I would, they are untrustworthy and lack ethics or integrity, DO NOT EMPLOY THEM UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. Ok, so I'm a 20-year retired Navy disabled veteran. I worked my butt off so that when our family finally got our forever home, it would be just what we wanted; a nice little house with white paint, black trim and a BLACK roof, not green, not gray, not grayish green, BLACK. And for $25,000.00 I should be expecting a professional roofing company to be able to handle the simplest of requests. Because for that kind of money, you should expect great work, not shabby crap that you'll regret for the next 30 years. When I contacted them and asked them to show me their catalog of options, I was quite clear on what I wanted. I'd had several estimators come by, but Gary, Pro Roofing's sales guy, seemed to be an honest fellow that knew his product. So, when I saw that they had Nu-Ray metal roofing in True Black and Matte Black, I asked what the difference was, to which he (and every person from Pro Roofing NW AND Nu-Ray Metals) replied, "the Matte Black is the same as the True Black, just not as glossy". Seems like common sense, right? Seems like this should be clear-cut right? NOPE!!!! Nowhere in the catalog I looked at (the Nu Ray metals Architectural Guide) did it say anything about asking for samples of the roofing prior to installation, and good old' Gary didn't have any samples with him, but I was certain of what I wanted and explicitly pointed it out to him on his catalogue (see photos, if attached). When they delivered the roofing material, it was upside down and covered in blue film, making it hard to see what color it actually was. My house has a daylight basement, so if you are in the backyard, you are straining to look up on top of your roof, from an area that is two stories high compared to the front of the house. I believed that what they were putting on my house would be just like true black, only less glossy...a matte black. So, when I got home on the day that they finally started working on the front, I told everyone to stop working, full stop, right now. The roof that they were installing, that I could now clearly see, was super- duper-gray, a very different from the color that I'd asked for, and definitely not what I was willing to pay $25,000.00 for. Well, the folks at Pro Roofing NW finally came out to see what the problem was, and right away saw that what they were installing was actually "Charcoal Gray" (per the pamphlet, see photos) and not Matte Black. I even called the Nu-Ray distributors in California and Washington to see what colors they offered, and still they described the Matte Black as "true black, but not as glossy". Additionally, I looked up PPG Kynar, NuRay's Paint supplier to see what colors the roof was licensed to be painted; in the USA the roofing materials NuRay can use only come in one type of Black, everything else is gray (bottom of this page- http://sampleorder.ppgmetalcoatings.com/samples/ppg-duranar-liquid-coatings). At first Pro Roofing Northwest's Managers seemed very much "on my side" and assured me they would get Nu Ray metals to either give me a new roof or foot the bill for this "mistake" in full. Gary and the Managers at Pro Roofing NW met with me a few more times after that, assuring me each time that they would take care of me. But instead of taking responsibility, Alex, the owner of Pro Roofing NW decided to blame it on Nu-Ray and demanded aggressively in writing that I pay in full. I'm angry that I had made the monumental mistake of trusting this company. So, in the end, Pro Roofing got paid (I paid under protest, on the advice of a lawyer) and Nu-Ray metal got their money too. But me, the customer, I got screwed. Please don't make my same mistake, choose anyone else. Don't use Pro Roofing NW and don't use any company that uses Nu-Ray metals. Set up appt for roof repair - we had all info for what was needed done. They said it was $150 for the service call and would be applied to repair total if we moved forward. Said great, gave green light. We were given a day and a four hour window for service. The day and time pass, the guy never shows. We call and they get ahold of him, and he says he came by four hours earlier than scheduled and would give us a quote by email. What? It was a pretty straight forward simple repair. But ok. So we wait. No one sends any info. We call again a few days later. Someone says the manager will email info. A few days later we call again, still nothing. It's been two weeks now. No info. No call. Nothing. The only bright side to this is we never got charged the $150 for the guy to come out, but honestly, I don't think he came out to begin with. Do not recommend. read more

The roof on our house was replaced. There were 5 roofing layers that were torn down. We chose to use TPO as our new roofing layer and also got the downspouts, scuppers, vents, and fans replaced. We are very happy with the results and the way the job was done. We chose Pro Roofing NW due to the way John Borbridge handled our interactions. He was prompt and clear in answering our questions and concerns and worked with us to give a good price on the estimates. The job was started in the same week it was scheduled (though it was delayed by 1 day) and finished promptly (4 days total including down spout installation). The roof installer was led by Teles and they were professional and thorough in their work. In addition to the plywood that needed to be replaced, the fascia and barge boards also had to be replaced in certain sections. We found them honest when they recommended replacing just those sections since the wood was fine in all the other sections. They also painted the replaced sections to match the existing color of the house (we bought the paint for them). What stood out to us was they worked with us to ensure the work was done to our satisfaction. We highly recommend them! read more

Warning. Pro Roofing did not manage the roofing project or even order the right materials. The roofers destroyed our gutters, reused vents after scratching and denting them. The roof has scuffs all over after 3 attempts by them to correct it. They did not put down a starter layer of shingles so they came and peeled the roof back to install one. The roof line is uneven and you can see the metal flashing in places. The "required" vents were beat into place. The original project manager of our project has vanished but he shared that the contracted roofers they use have incentive to not use the plywood. There is also a dip in the roof we think rotten decking that wasn't repaired. Now the company is lying that we want to delay corrections. What about a new roof!!!!! Pro Roofing's roof installation damaged two skylights. One, with a crack, was readily replaced. The second, with seal damage, was finally replaced with Pro Roofing covering 50% of the cost after a great deal of haggling but, the contractor would not readily take ownership of the damage done, causing a lot of undue stress. Much of the actual roof install was done very well, however, there were multiple places were the roof would not pour into the gutters any longer after install, which we are told is an issue of gutters being old, however, this was not an issue before the roof was replaced. I am still waiting for the newly installed, badly dented garage roof vent to be replaced. We cannot recommend this company for the delay in dealing with issues and for the contractor not taking ownership of the skylight damage without the stress of argument. We're so disappointed as we thought so highly of this company before these issues arose. Update: The vent has never been repaired/replaced and remains badly dented. Please note, I am both the tenant and the property manager. The actual owner did not do the final walk through as he is not in the country. We managed the bid and installation oversight. Pro Roofing NW did a great job for us last spring on a roof repair necessitated by water dripping through our kitchen ceiling during the last heavy rains before summer. The company responded right away with a thorough assessment of the problem, and the roof repair was accomplished within a week. At the time we were impressed by the great customer service, the good communication throughout the process, and the quickness of the response to identify the problem and make the repair. We waited until this fall to write the review because we wanted to ensure that the repair had successfully stopped the leak. Of I could give no stars i would this company sent out someone to come and do work on our roof. The contract was only for cleaning. And the first thing the guy mentioned was changing the roof. So we tried contacting the company and got no response or we got sent to a call center and were told that they tried to call yet no calls happened and no voice-mail were left on our end. The guy could not communicate what he was supposed to be doing to our roof and we were not about to let someone get on our roof and start working if they could not even tell us what they were supposed to be doing. I finally get a call back next day after three different phone calls that they are trying to say didn't happen. And now want to charge us for a service fee saying we refused them. We only refused them after they could not tell us what they were there to do. Very unprofessional and did not know how to talk to someone on the phone. I have worked in customer service for almost 15 year and this was not handled very well at all and I would not recommend them to anyone. The woman on the phone got very defensive right off the bat and would not even listen to what I was telling her. Kept cutting me off. Very rude. Super unprofessional !!! read more

I had them put a roof on my house 4-5 years ago. They didn't mention the chimney was failing, so fast forward to now. I have a demo crew scheduled to take down the chimney. I called multiple times AND sent emails to arrange in advance a repair and some vents for a new bathroom. No one responded. The day the demo was done I called again, and was told they don't do repairs. Called back, got another person who said they only do repairs for existing customers. I AM AN EXISTING CUSTOMER!! Next day, Jose comes over. No business card, quotes over $900 for a small repair and some vents. Fine send me the write up. He says they are available in "a few weeks" which gives me time to get a pipe on the furnace vent. No written bid, 2days later next thing I know, I'm at work and he is telling me he is on his way to my place to do the repair. I told him in writing, do not get on my roof, we have nothing in writing. Multiple back and forth, with an email from him showing up stating the price, but not all he was to do and no company name!! Back and forth, he sealed up the roof after I told him not to, and now I cannot use my heater unless I want to die from carbon monoxide. I sent emails to the company asking for a supervisor to call me on Monday. Here it is Wednesday, and I had to call AGAIN asking to speak to a supervisor. Alex calls me and tells me the company did me a favor fixing to roof, he will not have the rest of the bid done, and advised I get someone else to vent the furnace. He told me Jose screwed up, but because I am asking for someone to fix this mess, clearly the company would rather dump the client then be ethical. Considered other roofing companies but decided to hop on the bandwagon of ProRoofing given that other neighbors (more than half of those who have replaced their roofs) have chosen them as well. A price was negotiated for replacement of roof and gutters, as well as installation of gutter covers. Despite occasional rain, whole process from delivery to removal of dumpster took some 11 days to complete. A separate contractor came to install new rain gutters and gutter covers, which process took another 5 days. PROS: + Reasonable price in relation to other competitive bids. + Replaced cheap original roof shake with quality materials (CertainTeed Presidential TL) supported with plywood. + CertainTeed's highest credential level, entitling customers to PLUS warranty coverage. + Product works great, looks smart, promises to provide years of protection. + Licensed, bonded, with liability insurance, workmen's compensation, etc. + Professional work by a crew who know what they're doing, with background checks, etc. + Friendly personnel; some speak English, others Spanish. + B-vent gas pipe, rain caps, lead sleeves, etc., all installed to match. + For the gutters, was allowed to closely match color to the house exterior. + Post-job, PR was diligent in addressing some unfinished work that needed to be done (touch-up paint, unseated tile, exposed flashing edge, etc.) + Minimal moss and mildew growth on tiles so far (1 year). + ProRoofing is a member of BBB in case they need to be called upon. + Customer is entitled to a free annual inspection of the roof. + Transferable limited lifetime warranty, so long as you maintain the roof regularly. CON(cern)s: - Permitting process was a bit confusing. But suffice it to say ProRoofing paid for and cost was added to the bill. - HOA approval was needed as well and that point might be overlooked since it is not mentioned anywhere; homeowner will need to take care of on their own. - Was told that leaks could be patched while waiting for roof work to begin (40 days later), but that never happened. - Roof work was a bit messy (see pics), but they do clean up afterword. - Building permit got soaked in the rain. Better to put in protective sleeve. - Communication was hit-and miss. Of several messages sent to the head office, never really got a direct response. Messages may or may not have been relayed to the field rep who then may answered at his/her discretion. - PR didn't honor $2000 postcard discount, perhaps due to "negotiated" price. - Some debris from roofing materials (both old and new) settled into attic space (see pics), but none of this would be cleaned up by the work crew. - Field rep didn't keep up with stated favors--e.g., to forward list of clients with gutter treatments so can preview and speak with owners; or to send referrals for gutter cleaning. Not crucial, but would have been nice. - Rain gutter covers were unsuitable for amount of falling foliage. Manager summed this up as a "maintenance issue." It may very well be, but was hoping for something a little more headache-free. More on that point below. - Everything was taxable (per invoice), including builder's permit, as may be standard. RAIN GUTTER COVER: In selling me on new gutters and covers, was told that the Northwest winds would be sufficient to blow off debris. What's more, agent suggested that a steep roof such as ours would allow water to pour down and clean the gutter cover as well. Nothing could be further from the truth. As the pics show, the design of the covers (recessed by 1/2") is more prone to trap debris than shed it. This results in as much need for maintenance as uncovered gutters to the tune of 2-3 cleanings per year. Sure, the amount of cleaning might be less, but the expense is unlikely to be any lower. When pressed on the service warranty, PR countered: "the purpose of the covers is to protect the gutters and that is exactly what they're doing." Fair enough. So if you want to go a step further and keep debris out of your gutters, you may consider looking elsewhere because this Leaf Relief-type system (which PR claims they use for all their clients) does not quite cut it for properties heavily surrounded by trees. Field rep said I should know my own property in any case, what with trees and maintenance requirements. Okay---and he of all people should know his own product, its capabilities and limitations. In sum, ProRoofing has my recommendation: roof is amazing, gutters are great, but I still would have preferred a different type of gutter cover. Perhaps I will learn to love them as the field rep smirked that I was the first to complain about their gutter cover. First, woo-hoo! Kidding aside, time will tell and then we'll see if others have similar concerns. Otherwise, will continue to monitor and update this review as warranted. Pro Roofing NW did a fantastic job with a complete roof replacement on our house. And they did it in 5 days from start to finish, in early December--not the easiest time of the year. 25+ yr old cedar shake roof replaced with Presidential TL. The crew was courteous and they protected our deck and windows from falling debris. They they did a good cleanup job at the end of each day--wasn't expecting perfect as the job was still in progress. On the 5th and last day, after completion, they did a thorough job of cleaning up all debris that had come off the roof, nails, staples, bits of wood, paper, and various other debris. They raked around the bushes and grass. They kept me informed as to the schedule start, especially with it being late fall/early winter--you have to be flexible this time of the year, and go in with proper expectations. The office advised me of prep work I should do in advance--such as clean up and protect attic storage area, under skylights, pictures on the walls, and fragile items. I had expectations that it was going to be messy and noisy--the skylights have to be removed, plywood had to be installed, hammering, nailing/stapling, sawing, etc.. If you think otherwise, then you have NO clue what a roofing job entails. Their bid was competitive, and were willing to negotiate to win the bid by including some extras that I wanted done that other companies were charging for (skylights, shed roof, fixture on roof that had to be re-installed) All materials and the dumpster were delivered the first morning that the project started, and the dumpster was picked up the day after the project ended. Their crew answered some questions during the job, and I spoke with the office for a few others. But I always got my questions answered so that they understood what I wanted and I knew the status. Every one of the staff from sales to service and payment were professional, courteous and able to address questions. Pricing was competitive and the contract was detailed and easy to follow. ProRoofing installed my roof & in the process of removing the cedar shakes a window seal was broken. It was not like that when they started so I can assume the ProRoofing crew caused it. I sent pictures to the salesman & 3 or 4 people looked at it. I sent the cost to replace thinking they might pay for part of the replacement. They said they didn't do it & that was the end of it. Also, after completion they wanted to look in my attic; I had to provide the ladder (lucky I had one) & the flashlight. Seems kind of weird. Called for an estimate for a roof replacement. They came out and left a packet but were suppose to email an estimate that night. A week later I called and left a message to confirm they had the correct email address and they never contacted me again. I guess they don't want Any new business. Pro Roofing NW just came out and did a long overdue roof and gutter cleaning. Our roof gets hammered by a forest of Maples and moss is a never-ending battle. Mistie was our point of contact from the initial estimating process through the scheduling, cleaning and follow up. She was completely professional, timely, very detailed, and answered all of our questions. Thier cleaning team bent over backwards to protect very expensive landscape features and did an unbelievable job cleaning up. The immediate surroundings of our house have never been that clean! Just that alone would have been worth the price of the roof and gutter cleaning, that when compared to two other competing quotes, was more than reasonable. Thanks so much for a 5 star performance!
