Dishonest, Unprofessional, and a Complete Bait-and-Switch Experience I don't usually write negative reviews, but my experience with Pros Phone Repair was so frustrating and dishonest that I feel the need to warn others. When my daughter and I first walked in, we were quoted what seemed like a fair and reasonable price to fix her phone. She had saved her own money and was so happy to finally get it repaired. The employee clearly stated the price multiple times, and we left feeling good about the decision. We dropped the phone off and came back later to pick it up. The repair was done, but when it came time to pay, the price was suddenly much higher than what we were quoted. There was no prior call, no explanation, and no attempt to honor the original quote. I immediately questioned it and asked to see the video footage of our initial visit -- with sound -- to verify whether the price had been my misunderstanding or theirs. I made it clear that if the video proved it was my mistake, I was more than willing to pay the difference. Instead, I was given an excuse that it "takes time" to access the video from their Ring camera system. Days passed, and despite me calling multiple times to follow up, no one ever returned my calls or provided the footage. It became obvious they had no intention of resolving the issue or being transparent. To make things worse, we later discovered that the phone's camera stopped working after their repair. I called again to try and address both problems -- the price discrepancy and the new camera issue -- but no one ever answered or got back to me. At this point, it's clear this business operates with zero accountability. It felt like a classic bait-and-switch tactic: quote one price to get the customer in the door, then change it afterward and dodge responsibility when questioned. Adding to the concern, many of the so-called "positive" reviews for this store look suspiciously fake -- vague wording, no details, and profiles with no other review history. After my experience, it's easy to see why they might feel the need to pad their ratings. If you value honesty, integrity, and basic professionalism, stay far away from Pros Phone Repair. This review is long overdue--kind of like my phone repair. I was strolling by when I saw a sign: "Fix your screen in 15 minutes!" Sounded great. I walked in. Me: "Does it really only take 15 minutes?" Them: "Yes, sir!" Me: "Okay, how much?" Them: "$275." A bit steep, but for a quick, hassle-free fix, I figured why not. Fast forward an hour, three check-ins, and zero progress later--so much for 15 minutes. Eventually, they handed me my phone, and it seemed fine... until I realized later that day that Face ID was no longer recognizing me. Maybe I had aged dramatically from all the waiting. I tried resetting it--sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't, like a moody teenager. Annoying. I called them, and they were friendly, telling me to come back. Small problem: I live an hour north of San Clemente, so I just dealt with it for a while. Weeks later, I finally made it back. The guy called his partner (like I was trying to return a stolen artifact) and then got to work. This time, I gave him over an hour and went to lunch. Came back--still not done. Another 15 minutes, and... Face ID? Still broken. Tried resetting it--now the front camera wasn't working either. A few more tweaks, and it was kind of fixed. For a little while. Now, Face ID barely works, the screen colors are all weird (I feel like I'm watching an old VHS tape), and the worst part? My phone has developed a mind of its own. When I put it on a wireless charger, it just starts tapping randomly like it's possessed. Leave it in my pocket? It enters the wrong passcode so many times it locks me out--because apparently, my pocket is better at phone security than I am. Lesson learned: Next time, I'll just go to Apple. Or maybe just use smoke signals instead. read more

I'm actually pretty surprised at all the great reviews. I had visited a couple other retailers who fix phones who told me my charging port and battery needed to be replaced. The quotes were all about the same in the end. My issue was one was one the way home from a long road trip so I didn't have time and the other needs my phone for a few hours and since I use it for business I opted against that option. What I initially liked was it seemed like he was trying to save me money by saying he could try to clean the charging port first as that may solve the issue and keep cost down. Of course that didn't work, so my options were to have it sent out and wait a couple days for it at a cost of $100+ (the 2 other retailers gave me options between 45 minutes and a couple hours to fix this) OR I could buy the wireless charging accessory and leave the bad port. So I opted to spend the $50 for the new wireless charging accessories. My total for a new battery and the wireless charging accessory, it was $140. Besides the fact I cannot charge in my vehicle, when I got home I found it takes HOURS to charge the device. I charged the phone 4 hours to get to 71%! It is painfully slow though I was assured this was a quick charging device. What a waste of money! I am now going back to the other retailer who can change the charging port. Wish I would've just passed on this location. I'm not sure if they are honest or not, regardless it was not a favorable outcome! read more

Worst place to go get your phone fixed! The person we dealt was not honest and he was very rude! My son took his phone there to get the display fixed. It worked for a day and then it stopped working. When we went back he refused to do anything about it. He also said that AT&T refers customers to him which was untrue. We asked the manager there and he said no. No stars at all! read more

This is the message my phone gave me a day after he replaced my display. When I brought it back, he was not only unhelpful, incompetent and arrogant but also dishonest. He said he threw away my old phone display and could not give me the faulty one he replaced it with because it was "too expensive" but eventually he suddenly "found" my old screen? As per his reply to my mother. Also, he has no ability to read a situation because there was 0 threats of any sort of violence or physical aggression and he felt the need to call law enforcement? Would love to hear their resolution of that situation by the way:) I'm sure the San Clemente PD didn't have more pressing issues to deal with at the time you went crying to them, like actual crimes. bad business and a crooked owner.
