Gave me suggestions as I am not a hockey player, explained which features were on which skate, did not try to oversell me & gave me what I needed. He took his time & made sure I was leaving with a quality skate the fit good. Got them baked & sharpened and will try them out this weekend . About 15 roller skates on wall so I went with the 2nd best mission skates they had, once they were baked they fit great.

He is very knowledgeable and thorough when it comes to skate fitting. I really appreciated David's explanation of all the steps of getting the perfect fit for my boot. Between the heat molding, punching, and modifications he made to my skates, it really was so worth it. (Just be prepared to be in the shop for a good chunk of time!) Today I skated for the first time with the new boots and blades and the sharpening was absolutely perfect, I have never glided like I did today. Unfortunately, the entire experience is ruined by the store manager, Ryan Maloney. He is, without a doubt, the worst part of this store--clueless, unprofessional, and completely unfit for his role. as a manager, you'd expect him to have at least a basic understanding of the products, yet he seems to know absolutely nothing. Ask him a question about any type of gear, and you'll either get a completely incorrect answer or some bizarre, unhelpful remark that makes you wonder if he even knows what's in his own store. While other employees go out of their way to assist customers, Ryan seems more interested in making everything more difficult. to make matters worse, his demeanor is just plain uncomfortable. Instead of being professional and customer-friendly, he makes weird, off-putting comments that leave you wondering if he's deliberately trying to confuse or irritate people. What really crossed the line was when he made unsettling remarks toward both me and my son. Rather than focusing on helping us find what we needed, he seemed more interested in making awkward, unnecessary comments that had nothing to do with our shopping experience. It was uncomfortable, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable. on top of all that, he doesn't even seem capable of managing basic store operations. At one point, he actually pulled one of his employees away from helping another customer just so they could assist him with something--completely disregarding the fact that the customer had been waiting for help. Instead of leading by example, he comes off as lazy, unorganized, and completely out of his depth. and his appearance--because if you're expecting a manager who looks even remotely presentable, you're out of luck. Ryan strolls around the store in cheap Walmart sweatpants like he just rolled out of bed. It's honestly a shame because the rest of the staff here are great--they know their stuff, they're friendly, and they actually care about customer service. But with Ryan Maloney in charge, the entire store suffers. If Monkey Sports wants to maintain its reputation, they should seriously reconsider who they have running the place. Until then, I'd highly recommend taking your business elsewhere.

Especially for goalie gear, this is one of the best stores as the goalie specialists are very knowledgeable about proper fitting and models, and are also fun to chat with. Although the prices for the gear are the same as all other hockey/goalie stores, they do have a very wide selection and also some used gear if you're looking to buy discounted equipment for a lot less and don't mind if it's been used a little.

On Election Day 2024, I cast my vote of Four Stars for the Patchogue Dick's Sporting Goods. The…read morevote isn't for the sporting goods or customer service. This vote was casted on their selection of Superfeet insoles. I love hiking and walking, however, I suffer from a severe case of flat feet and arthritis that affects my left foot. Going back to December 6, 2014 when I wrote my review on the Henderson, NV REI; I have been wearing the Superfeet Green E insoles. Without them, I hobble. Due to the fact that there are a few REIs, I needed someplace more convenient to buy them. Nearby in Henderson, I discovered that the Galleria Mall Dick's was a convenient spot to buy sneakers. In December of 2014 and up til recently, they offered an expansive selection of sneakers at reasonable prices. When the Superfeet that I brought in REI wore out, I would find out that they sell Superfeet here. I'd return. In contrast to the Patchogue Dick's Sporting Goods, which used to be a King Kullen supermarket, the Galleria Mall location is a large two-story anchor store. In May 2024, when I visited the Lake Grove location, I saw that the sneaker prices went up big time. The way I see it, the smaller footprint of this location is that it is easy to navigate. Unfortunately they might not have what you are looking for. In my situation the footware section was easy to spot in the back right. Right there was a foot insole section that included a whole side dedicated to Superfeet. They had the Green Size E which my feet depend on. They gave zero problem trying then on to make sure that they fit. The "they" was practically no salesfloor help. The salesfloor Associate that greeted my dad and I conducted what I consider sketchy customer service. He alleged that the Superfeet that I have been buying for a decade (Wow! Ten years flies on Yelp) and have thousands of four star online reviews are these awful insoles that most of the customers return and then recommended that we go to CVS to buy insoles. My Dad and I got the impression that he is about to quit. This leads to two points. Point #1 is that they offer a 90 day warranty on insoles. And point #2 is that when I go to big box stores I have relied more on Internet reviews than the Sales Associates. We passed off his advice and brought the Superfeet. Unlike the sneakers, the prices are about identical to what they were in 2014. They were competitively priced at $54. With my Four Star vote casted, my flat feet and arthritis could lead me back to Dick's. Whether I am in Las Vegas or Long Island, they are a convenient retailer to heel my feet with Superfeet.
