Sporting goods and guns. I'll admit it, I'm getting ready for the zombie apocalypse; you see enough of it on TV and the movies, so it must be real...right? Aside from the walking dead, I came to the realization after the recent hurricane events in my area, that I am woefully unprepared in terms of self-protection and projecting a sense of "go somewhere elseness" to wood-be thieves, that I decided it is time to arm myself. I'll admit it, I think I have watched one too many "Doomsday-prepper" shows... I haven't been around or needed firearms in a long time, so venturing in to this place was a bit intimidating, but more from a cautious standpoint on my part, than anything else. The guys working here took the time to explain what my options were in my the type of rifle I was looking for and gave me plenty of info that is allowing me to do some complete research on the final design of the weapon I want. No hard sales push and totally professional, I was very pleased with the whole experience. Aside from guns and hunting items, they have a nice selection of fishing and other sportsmen related goods. Warning to anyone considering selling a gun via consignment with these crooks. I gave them an antique rifle to sell in 2017. I then called them every several months and they said there was no activity on the rifle. During the past few months I called every month and they said they would either get back to me or that that rifle had not been sold yet I became very suspicious and decided to pay a visit in person to get my rifle back. It was only then that they informed me that it had been sold several months ago. Even though they had my phone number and even though I made many attempts to contact them and find out the status they never told me about the sale. The people at Suffolk Sportsman are friendly and knowledgeable. All of the shooter/ hunter guys I know go there. If there's an item that they don't have, they will order it if you ask. They also don't try to push higher priced items than what you need. I went in looking for an "affordable" shotgun, (which is a very relative term with firearms). The only question that they had was what I was looking to use it for. He showed me a very good one for about $100 cheaper than I thought it would be. Most places I've been to will tell you that they have one for $250 that's not too great, but have a better one for $400. I highly recommend. read more

I bought a Remington 700 sps tactical from Suffolk Sportsman in 2014. I was not aware of the xmp trigger recall at the time. The following week I saw a online article about it and I went to Remington's web site and entered my rifles serial # in and the only thing that came up on the screen was "this number has been entered into the system already, check back at a later date for more info". So I then called Suffolk Sportsman up and inquired about my rifle. I was told by ALLEN that the trigger recall was taken care of already by Remington before he sold me the rifle. Ok. So I put my rifle into my gun safe and it sat there until now when I am ready to start my build on it. Doing some more research on the Remington 700 and the trigger recall I saw that the way you can tell if your rifle has been retrofitted with the new trigger was by a punch mark on the bolt release. Low and behold my trigger does not have a punch mark. I called Remington directly and they inform me my trigger indeed needs to be retrofitted and they will be sending me out a box so I can ship my rifle to them for the retrofit. The issue I have with Suffolk Soortsman is that they KNOWINGLY SOLD ME A RIFLE THAT HAD A DEFECTIVE TRIGGER AND THEN LIED TO ME OVER THE PHONE THAT THE RETROFIT WAS DONE ON IT. Thank God I never even loaded the weapon and nobody got hurt or worse. So I hope everybody reads this review so you can see for yourselves what kind of people you will be dealing with at the Suffolk Sportsman. Stay clear of this place. read more
