First red flag: They don't take appointments. You either sit and wait indefinitely or drop your vehicle off and hope for the best. It's a disorganized first-come, first-served process that feels completely outdated and inconvenient. Now to the bigger issue - my experience: While I was out of town, my wife brought our truck in for four new tires and tire pressure sensors (two had gone bad). Toward the end of the visit, the shop tried calling me -- not her -- to get approval for an alignment. I was at a conference and couldn't answer, but instead of just speaking with my wife who was right there, they pushed the alignment on her. The truck didn't need an alignment. And as soon as I got back and drove it, I noticed the alignment was now off -- my steering wheel was crooked and the truck pulled. On top of that, one of the tire pressure sensors immediately started triggering a warning. I was heading back out of town and had to wait nearly a week before taking it back in. When I returned it, they did take another look and adjusted the alignment -- but then told me I needed to pay another $69.99 to replace a tire pressure sensor. I had to remind them that I had already paid for four brand new sensors. That raised a serious red flag -- did they even replace the sensors the first time, or just charge me for them? To make matters worse, when I went to pick the truck up, they couldn't find the keys. After several minutes of looking, they found them sitting inside the unlocked truck, windows down, in the parking lot -- completely unsecured. This kind of careless, unprofessional service is unacceptable. I've been a Big O customer in the past, but this location has lost my business. If you value your time, money, or your vehicle -- go elsewhere.

Overpriced I went in with a simple problem of "hey will you…read moreidentify this clicking noise that just started up?" I then left it in their care expecting a call back later to tell me what it was. The call came except instead of telling me what it was they said the noise wasn't there and neither of their guys heard anything. Except at that point it was already on the lift so they could inspect it. This was Friday close to closing at this point so they kept it over the weekend. I get an invoice on Monday for $185 and a recommended service that would've added another $323. For what I wonder? Oh that's just the single hour rate plus shop supplies and tax. An hour to tell me they didn't hear the noise anymore? That would've taken 5 minutes on a test drive. That's all I wanted. I never asked for them to inspect the whole car for problems (which they did anyway). I certainly wasn't expecting to pay close to $200 for a problem that apparently went away. When I went in to pick up my car, I asked about that. I pointed out that their hourly rate was nowhere to be found and I didn't like that I was blindsided by it after the fact. The owner told me to look on his website. I already had. Just to make sure after I got home, I looked again. Still no mention of the hourly rate anywhere on the website and certainly nowhere to be found in the lobby. This would be a completely different story had they actually found the noise that I'd been hearing and completely different yet again if they'd actually posted their hourly rate. I was fully expecting to pay them for identifying the sound, that's not the problem here. They just straight up didn't do that and instead did extra work and charged me for it. Should I have been clear that if for some reason the noise didn't happen anymore that I just wanted a call back to come pick up my car? Probably. I just didn't at all see that as a possibility because I'd looked and hadn't seen anything super obvious and yet the noise persisted across multiple times turning the car on and off and driving at various speeds. Both of our faults? Maybe. But clear communication earlier in the process would have been awesome.

Couple points to make here. Plain and simple, these guys are honest, fair, didn't look for other things to upsell me on, just troubleshooted for the issue and got me back on the road ASAP. Long story short, something as simple as a radiator cap which was defective and losing pressure, was replaced, fluids were topped off, and I was able to get back on the road with just parts fees and a diagnostic fee.
