Poor customer service, poor interpersonal attitude, came across like he was being bothered and barely spoke during our call and continued to stuff his face with a sandwich or some piece of food during the call. Called him on a Wed & he promised to come that Fri to get the key made for my car which I lost the only key for. On Fri I called him & he said that he now had to order the key needed. (what took him so long to realize that) and he then changed the job to Wed of the following week...also had to be reminded again, during that call, regarding the particulars about the vehicle & it's original key type for the 2nd time. Wed came, called him & was ghosted...he never called me back despite 3 calls & a msg left on his VM. I was nothing but pleasant & patient with this guy. I would strongly advise to avoid this individual. His "estimated price" quoted was also WAY higher than who I ultimately had do the job. I used "The Key Guy" mobile guy from Windsor, NY. He was fantastic & much cheaper than this other individual. read more

Called and explained my situation and said it'll be $350 for my key to be made and programmed, he showed up and took the key and didn't even reprogram the key, took and made a cut of it and gave me a key without the key fob. Now my original key don't work for my vehicle. And already gave him the money. Said something to him and said he'll cut me a deal to get a new key with the fob for another $125. Was supposed to have they key on 3/28/2022 and he still don't have it... Not friendly at all and pretty rude, just taking advantage of people for money read more

My son lost the only key to his car - a mid 80's Honda CRX, and we thought we were royally screwed and would have to replace the ignition switch and all door cylinders in order for him to be able lock his his doors. Pro-Tech helped us the same day we called. He drove to the vehicle's location and crafted a new key to fit the locks right there on the spot in just a few minutes. I was busy, so my wife and son met with the locksmith. They said that he is definitely not a warm, fuzzy type of guy. We were not looking for someone be our friend, or to go out to have a beer with. We wanted someone to perform a job for us quickly and efficiently, which he did. Pro-tech saved me a bunch of hassle, headaches, and most importantly, time and money. After the job was done, a small dog walked up to my son's friend where the car was. The locksmith drove away and came back a few minutes later and told them that he saw the dog's owner looking for him a few blocks away. I think the fact that he came back to help them reunite the dog with its owner says a lot about the type of person he is. Please don't use them the owner is very unfriendly and doesn't care at all about customer service just your money. I specifically asked for a certain type of key for my vehicle and the owner made the wrong one. Unfortunately i didn't see the mistake until he was already finished and i had paid and once i pointed it out to him he said that that's the one i got and if i want the other one its gonna cost full price. Live in Cortland and needed Jaguar key cut and programmed. Assured me he was capable of handling the task, as he specializes in car locks, etc...... and comes to Cortland. Quoted $150 - $200 depending on whether he has other calls the same day he would do mine. Promised to call Monday following our Friday conversation..... no call back. Called "Dale" on Tuesday and promised to call later that day.....NOTHING. I had a remote start/alarm system scheduled for the next Wednesday and needed additional key and existing ones programmed. So called Dale on the NEXT Monday morning at 8:15, only to wake him from a sound sleep. ONCE AGAIN, "I'll call you back" .....zero. and that's just how much business you should do with this company! My Jag is having the system installed and can only hope i never lose my remaining key before i can find someone reputable to cut another. read more
