So far so good. We have a challenging backyard: evergreens, and shade. And we have two young Standard Poodles. Last winter it flooded as well, so we were back to square one. We had a French drain installed, decompacted, and leveled, then planted the PT 767 DOG PARK ECO-LAWN MIX WITH MICROCLOVER® with extra micro clover. We watered religiously, and this gorgeous ground covering came up. It's not as thick as I'd like, and the fence in the "After" photo is because we had to re-seed a still-muddy and shady area of the yard. We raised that up too, and added some sand. This is the first planting, I know it will be a wreck by Spring, but at least it came up! read more

Bought two native wildflower and grass mixes, one for shade one for sun. I have not had a single flower. I used an electronic tiller and prepped the soil well. The grass is going crazy- but that is all I have- all grass. So if you want native grass I guess get this but if you want flowers- nope!!!! read more

The "Microclover" is nothing but fraud. I planted their clover in two locations and both are covered well by the clover. The ground was previously very bare with no clover in existence. However ALL of the areas seeded have the same clover that has come in, as you can see it is more of a macro clover, that dwarfs a US Quarter. Be very wary of any advice given by people who are defrauding people. You will see other reviews below that have the same experience as myself. read more

Very disappointed with the PT799 "Micro Clover". Website says, "effective for overseeding existing lawns." So I bought 20 pounds (pricey!) to spread into newish sod as discussed before ordering. The result is 95% nothing with odd patches of ¾" wide "Macro" variegated clover. I took nearly 8 hours spreading this with great care and uniformity, so why the odd patches? They say, the clusters must be "from bare patches where seed to soil contact was made." But my sod was carpet-like in its uniformity, and the Clover did not favor any seams. So this pat-answer makes no sense. Was it mostly dead seed? And what of the huge Clover that did grow? Wrong product shipped? They say, "could be wild white clover that exists in our soil banks or it could be un-mowed Microclover." But this again does not satisfy common sense. There is no way this is Micro Clover! (See pictures.) The result is that Pro Time's product ruined my 15K-SF yard. Not what I ordered, and mostly dead. No refund, per policy. Apparently it is all my fault; yet I can't see how. They now say that I should have grown both lawn and clover from seed. But given the poor quality control of their seeds, it is any guess how THAT might have turned out. And per their useless policy, by the time I'd know... no refunds. Seems like a bit of a scam to me. They suggest I try it again with thatching, and offered to sell me even more at a slightly lowered price. That's close to the definition of chutzpah. Not Micro Clover, mostly dead seed, a LOT of money spent, and a ruined lawn. All my fault, despite the lack of any logical explanation. My advice, look elsewhere as Pro Time does not stand behind their product in any practical way. read more

I installed both PT 705 Xeriscape Lawn Alternative - 1 lb for $19.95 each PT 769 R&R Eco Turf Mix - 5 lb for $39.95 each I put the PT 705 in the front of the house and the PT769 in the back. I watered 2x per day. Morning ( before work) and evening (after work). I did this for 4 weeks the PT 705 grew just fine. The PT769 did absolutely nothing. I got the seed April 28th. I was hoping for something by May 25th as I was have a reception at the house for my son's high school graduation. I called last week June 8th and was told that there was nothing that good be done about the PT769. No refund. No replacement seed ( which at this point I do not want). Nothing. They did offer a 10% discount on a new bag of seed. Why would I do that. I was told by Amy that I have should have watered the PT769 3-4 times a day. How can anyone do that. So I am very disappointed in the customer service. I have pictures that I can post. read more

First became acquainted with the folks at Pro Time when I was living in the NE nearby and in the process of buying a property with a new sod lawn in the SE Stopped by after getting the property for their advice about how to take care of the new sod and picked up their recommended fertilizer. Stopped back again today to talk with them again about a concern I had with my lawn and to pick up some more fertilizer appropriate for my lawn now. Each time they have taken a sincere interest in hearing what was up with my lawn and in giving advice, tips and helping me. I will certainly be back again in the fall as I want to use their seed for over seeding. LOVE Pro Time- we've been buying our grass seed here- both Fleur de Lawn and the ProTime 706 Fragrant Herbal or 5 years- the results on our 1/2 acre lot in Portland is wonderful. We recently earned a Gold Certified Backyard Habitat (http://audubonportland.org/issues/backyardhabitat) and are now looking to replant the lawn with native grasses- Pro-Time supplies seeds that are on the Portland Plant List for Portland natives in their ProTime 400 Native Grass Mix. We are really looking forward to seeing the change to a more relaxed, natural appearance in our yard. The people at Pro Time are very knowledgeable and helpful, and I wouldn't go anywhere else to buy grass seed and wildflower seed mixes. You can actually ask them questions! I feel like they are partners in helping us to find natural, native, and beautiful alternatives to just a green lawn carpet that we'd have to mow, mow, mow. Looking for some native landscaping plants around town I stumbled on this spot on my usual bike route through SE neighborhood. I wasn't sure if it was a wholesale only spot because it had a very warehouse/industrial feel to it. There was one young guy in the office who didn't seem used to seeing walk customers and was a bit awkward in explaining what they had. It was pretty obvious by the limited shelves and bags this was going to be a short conversation. I can't say it's the most interesting retail experience but for specifics like grass seed it could be very useful. I liked their selection of seed for both wildflower and grass by the pound but they were sold out of the native wildflower mix till at least September. I'll check back and see about getting some for next season. read more

We planted the ProTime Rough and Ready lawn seed this last Spring and loving it! The lawn is full, lush and super green with no extra reseeding needed. The microclover is an excellent addition is this mix. We are letting the clover bloom to attract pollinators to help out in the garden. I'm so impressed with the results of the ProTime Rough and Ready that we picked up ProTime 705 PDX for seeding this fall in another area of our yard. Heading into this spring I badly needed to either seed or just get new sod all together. I chose the seed route to save a little money and I'm glad I did. My yard was fried do to the southwest sun exposure. Three months later and it is still lush and green. That's all I care about. Now brown spots to speak of. Granted I have been watering it daily. The guys here were super helpful for the situation I had going on. Showed a lot of knowledge and led me to the right product. Cool spot. read more

I find planting grass really stressful! I don't have the best yard for normal grass, but I want at least SOME grass. Anyway, I planted the Rough and Ready 3 weeks ago. It is amazingly healthy. The people in the shop are beyond helpful each time we've gone into the store. read more
