Services provided were good. But business communication is where the problem begins. We used them frequently for almost a year for our pest control and lawn needs. But it got to a point where their technicians were starting to overlap and do services too frequently, and still trying to charge us even when we did not schedule services. Once we cancelled our services they started calling myself and my partner multiple times a week. This has been going on for almost 8 months now. We have asked multiple times to be removed from their lists and then tell us we will. Low and behold the next week roles around and we get another call. My partner has personally blocked 7 different numbers of pro pest and he continues to get calls from new numbers. I spoke with someone over the phone 2 weeks ago and requested we be taken off any call lists, and was assured we would be. This was not the case as we have continued to receive calls. I don't know if its an associate issue, technology system issue, or they simply don't care but I will not be using them again. read more

On 7/7 a Pro Turf truck failed to yield and nearly caused a collision with my son's vehicle before cutting off the front of mine while we were completing a turn. The driver displayed a complete absence of situational awareness and basic safety practices, making no effort to look for oncoming traffic and offering no acknowledgment or apology after the incident. This behavior represents a significant safety concern. The driver's actions demonstrated reckless disregard for standard right‑of‑way procedures and created an avoidable hazard for multiple vehicles. Based on this incident, I believe the driver requires immediate review and additional safety training to ensure compliance with traffic laws and to prevent future incidents. Following the event, I attempted to report the matter by phone and remained on hold for 25 minutes without receiving assistance. Don't waste your time with this company. We've been with them for at least 10 years. The service has gone down hill the last 2 years. Their customer service is a joke! They put you on hold for 25 minutes for any call you make to their office. They tried charging me for a service I never requested and when I told them, they said they couldn't refund me since it was already done. For the first few years they were great over the last several years when I call customer service answers the phone but then they put it off to a service rep who is supposed to call me back but never does. They NEVER schedule to come out to spray for ants. then I've tried to cancel my service but when I call to cancel they transfer me and nobody answers the phone. The lack of customer service is atrocious We still continue to have ants so I think that whatever they have used on the monthly visits which I'm never here for so frankly not sure they are even showing up, doesn't work! Pro Turf purchased my old lawn care company and I made the huge mistake of keeping them. I pride myself on having a very nice lawn and they proceeded to destroy it. My yard is loaded with a fungus that continues to spread even after I told them and they said they treated it. I got a new technician each time and they had no idea about what previous treatments were applied. One guy showed up a week after the lawn was treated and didn't know someone was just there. He then called the office and left my house after realizing he screwed up. Now parts of my yard are dying and will have to be seeded in the fall. I have called at least 6 times about it and filed online service incidents and received nothing. RUN! RUN! RUN! RUN! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! I really do not like having to make this review, but I feel that the public needs to be aware of the struggle I have had with this company. I had turf and pest service for approx 3 years. March of this year I realized that I had not seen the turf side of the company out to treat my yard. Pest had just been to the house which promted me to realize that I had not had the turf side out. So I call the ProTurf/ProPest, they inform me that my acct is on hold for non payment. I said that is not possible it comes out automatically and pest service had been coming out of the same acct. After further review they informed me that it was their problem they had changed billing systems for the turf side of the company. I was compensated for 1 month and I paid the remainder (At that point I had a zero balance). Another reminder I had only had ProPest out 1 time this year at that point, and behind on the turf service. I was promised that they would catch up my service. A month went by and I had talked to several customer service reps promising me they would escalate my concern. This went back and forth not being able to ever talk to anyone or get a call from management so long that I finally just cancelled my service all together, both turf and pest. That was in approx April, it is now the middle of July I have spent so much time on the phone trying to get them to cancel my service, I have received phone calls,text messages, emails stating that I need to update my payment card on file, need to pay for past services to be able to resume getting services from proTurf/ProPest, I have already cancelled their services when I am receiving these calls/text/emails (Reminder I had only had pest service 1 time back in March). I have spent countless hours calling to try and get the situation figured out, always telling me that it has been escalated. Never receiving a phone call from anyone in management to help get the situation resolved. I have been told that my card is no longer on file, all though I have had 3 charges come through my bank acct. I have advised that I will be seeking legal action. Maybe this review to forwarn people to be careful using this company for your lawn & pest needs. We have a standing request to be notified a few days in advance before they come to do the quarterly treatment, because we have the interior done at the same time. I have reached out to this company twice about a service that they did not perform to try to get them to come out and service my yard. The guy came out while I wasn't home & I noticed on my video camera it took him exactly 1 min from start to finish so I looked on my cameras & saw that he not only didn't out any product into the spreader but he also only walked around 1/3 of my yard so even if he had product in there he missed most of the yard. Several attempts to have a manager call me have had zero returned calls. Then even after I was told they can't re-service for 10 days suddenly the same guys shows up days later and I see on camera this time he spot treats the yard but still never winterized the areas he missed and still no return office calls. I called back and again am told someone will return my call. Supposedly this time supervisor David will call me within 24-48 hours because supervisor Ben never did. STAY AWAY! This company took over for Great Midwest Turf & Shrub, which we had used for years and loved. After the transition, the quality dropped immediately. We have video evidence showing only a single pass over our yard instead of a full fertilization, and soon our lawn was covered in weeds and nutsedge. Their pest inspection was also misdiagnosed as termites. Another company confirmed it was actually carpenter ants. Pro Turf and Pest even scheduled a $700 termite treatment we didn't need, which we canceled once we learned the truth. We later received billing notices of $82 for an already canceled account, even after getting a refund check of over $200. This clearly shows a lack of organization and communication within the company. Repeated calls with no way to leave voicemail and emails went unanswered and only after a debt collection threat did someone finally reach out. We paid just to be done with them. There are plenty of companies that communicate well and stand by their work but Pro Turf and Pest simply isn't one of them. read more

not sure what is going on in the office of this business, because the service people are great, but the office doesn't do anything to help a customer. My mother used this yard care service for years (15+). she went into hospice this year. instead of care, the company is harassing family for a F***ing $70 invoice. the office was given the correct contact information for the person settling accounts. I tried to be helpful and sent the company a message, and have regretted it since. instead of reading the messages and resolving the problem, its just final notice in the inbox repeatedly. last month i replied that if they contacted me again, i would post the threads. obviously mom liked this company. she was a long time customer, and i only heard positive comments. too bad the company is like they are during this time. read more

STAY AWAY. SHADY PRACTICES! We hired them to aerate and seed the lawn. I question if they aerated the entire front lawn and side of house. It appears to have been done in certain areas and nothing in other areas. At the same time, they were supposed to put down gypsum and limestone, and they did not do it. They charged us almost $500.00 for the above services. Which part of the services we did not receive. On top of that they double billed us for the charges. We went to their place of business as we felt by phone we would get nowhere, they did remove the additional charge and came back out to place down the gypsum and limestone. read more

I had this service for several years. I became less happy with the results when they sold. Last year I called in late Fall and canceled my service. But in early March, without the email notification they gave in the past, they treated my yard. I had already treated my yard and doing it again is bad for the lawn. I called and was assured my money would be refunded and that I would receive a call from the cancellation department confirming my cancellation. Three weeks later and still no call back and no refund. I'm currently on hold trying again to get it canceled and my money back. BTW, be prepared to wait on hold for 15 minutes every time you call them. We have been using ProTurf for the last 10 years. They have my yard on a schedule and it has never looked better. When the rare occasion comes up that a weed appears, I just call and they are usually out 1-2 days later. We prepay for the entire year $574. I kept getting past due emails and when I would log on to my account it shows 0.00 owed as it was prepaid. Then I received an email that my account was seriously past due, so I called them a 4th time! Since they kept telling me I don't owe anything, i reached out by "contact us" to explain my concern and that I don't appreciate receiving threatening or delinquent account emails. I received a reply saying that I have 2 accounts and 1 is for the prepaid lawn service and one is for flea & tick that I never signed up for. After several days, Hailey A. called me back and said on June 18, 2025 we had a lengthy conversation where the first application would be $19 and then each month would be $85. I never had this conversation so i went thru my call log and I had a missed call from them on June 18th. I asked Hailey to send me the recorded call. OMG! This poor 82 yo woman was who they had the conversation with. She was asking about her yard looking bad and if they received her check and they went on to sell her the flea and tick treatment. They never listened to this poor lady at all. They kept calling her Linda (ME) I live in Raymore MO and this poor little lady lives in Belton MO. Sad part is I deal with all ages of people on the phone and my heart goes out to the elderly. Hailey just tried to make a sale to her and get her off the phone. I have all the emails and the 15 minute phone recording. My heart breaks for that little lady and I'm assuming she is probably getting screwed by the lawn service. I have cancelled my service at the end of the year and will never be using this company again. I have never had this type of customer service in my lifetime. I will also add, I generally do not leave reviews unless someone excels beyond measure or truly provided horrible service. This company is the worst. They have instituted deceptive business practices since this change of ownership and are doing so at the expense of the customer. Horrible organization that cannot treat weeds in a yard. I had very few weeds when they started earlier this year, but now my yard is full of weeds. I've had them come out and do a service call every 2 weeks since June and it's not helping. They keep trying to sell me a yard aeration and re-seeding for $650 but my yard has plenty of grass and no bare spots. Their manager came out and looked at the yard and took the blame for the weeds. Said they will have someone come out right away and re-spray, but it took over a week for them to come by and spray again. Now they won't return my calls or come out to spray. SHORT VERSION: Avoid these guys! Heads up, KC Metro! Now is the time that hordes of turf care companies, landscapers, mudjackers, and the like come through subdivisions like armies of carpenter ants. Promises of yards that look like the fairways of Augusta National and visions of neighborhood envy dance through your head. But reel your expectations back in when it comes to Pro Turf. Salespeople carpet-bomb the neighborhood in the spring and start the sales pitch with 'Hey, I just signed up your neighbor [insert easily obtained name here] and thought I'd offer you the same deal'. Applications starting around $55-$60 every month, just pay online, we'll be by monthly, etc. That *sounds* good, and if you do the math, with a 15K sq. ft. lawn, you would pay roughly 75% of that for bags of fertilizer and then take the time to apply. So you ask, 'What's my time worth? Should I have these guys, the 'pros', take care of it?'. I answered 'yes' and I've regretted that ever since. Yes, they communicate well and show up to treat your lawn. A 'technician', most of whom I am guessing are not horticulturists, stops by, sprays an application, leaves a bill, and leaves a small sign as an ad. Only thing is, once warmer months started, the service became noticeably less effective. Weeds were growing where weeds had not been before, and so I mentioned that. I was brushed aside as 'that's to be expected', but when a nice young technician showed up in early July, I was home to meet him. I asked him to spray twice in some areas, and to treat the areas around the foundation again. He mumbled something about 'not on the work order' but reluctantly overstayed his scheduled stop. Hey, I dropped him a couple of bottles of Gatorade for the trouble (it was a scorcher) and waited to see results. Hmmm. That didn't occur as expected. Here comes early August and I have NEW weeds where they weren't before. So I take some pictures and send them to the sales manager, asking to be contacted about my concerns. Again, the brush-off, this time with 'well, the problem is that your lawn isn't thick enough', which was supposed to be one of the treatments I paid for (overseeding) in early spring. I agreed, it wasn't thick enough, but I'm no greenhorn, and I knew this was baloney. I pressed for additional treatment and was told, 'no, this is the plan you signed up for. If your lawn isn't thick enough, you're going to have these problems.' Ah yes, which is like saying, 'well, if she didn't wear those low-cut tops, then I wouldn't make comments!'. It was at the point of my yard being the 'issue' and I asked to cease service, as I had no contract. I was then offered service for free, which I politely declined. I got calls from the regional manager and others, but declined extensions and freebies, only to have one manager tell me 'there's always others!'. Oh my, yes, good sir, there are plenty of customers for you, but now I have the microphone and want to prime the pump that is social media. So Google Reviews, NextDoor, and my fave crowd, Yelpers alike can hear my experiences. Even if they were FREE, I would *not* use these guys. They are either: 1. Not applying the solution advertised, 2. Not employing qualified or trained service personnel, 3. Not making specific approaches to each customer or, 4. Simply not interested in quality. Whatever it is, a lawn service can be worth the money on time alone. Curb appeal sells homes and homes sell neighborhoods. But Pro Turf appears to neither be 'Pro' nor skilled with 'Turf' and I sincerely hope they turn it around. It just ain't going to happen with this homeowner. Addendum: I received 'new customer' calls from Pro Turf this spring. I declined the polite salesperson and wove a short version of my story, at which time he referred his manager to me. That call...has not come, which is fine, as I would not use their service. But even the retention efforts are subpar, matching their service. read more

We have been using Pro Pest consistently for well over 10 years and their services continues to get worse. For the past several years, I hired them to address a bug issue. Their technicians always have been on time and are very nice. Unfortunately after their treatment, the bug issue continued. Their consistent solution was for us to buy their maintenance program. Downside of that is even after treatment, there has been no improvement. Also, the front office administration hasn't been helpful or even nice about it. Very disappointed in the lack of timely service and quality of weed & fertilizer applications. I realize this was a tough year for lawn care, but this is the worst my lawn has ever looked. I still have 2 fall applications coming after they supposedly did 5 - my records show they only did 3, but they somehow think they did 5?? When I realized and contacted them again, they said they have been treating my yard and have no confirmation of me canceling my services. But wait a minute, my yard has weeds. So, what is it they have been treating? Additionally, when they provide service, they normally leave a small yard sign planted in your yard. I have never seen this sign in my yard for a very long time. When I insisted for them to cancel my service for the second time, they said I have to pay the remaining amount for the season. I just had a very professional Pro Pest, LLC technician named Mike who did perhaps the best pest control job I have ever had. He removed his shoes before entering the house. He was very thorough. He did the inside, outside and removed any cobwebs that he found. He took the time to educate me on a couple of pest control issues that I was having that I had no idea how to solve, but he certainly did. If all their workers are as good Mike, then this company has discovered the silver bullet for hiring good people. read more
