After quoting me a very fair price to paint the porch, we found out it had been previously painted with a commercial grade and highly volition Rexthane paint - this turned the job into 4 days of prepping, sanding and painting with a crazy toxic paint. After having him come back to touch up the imperfections and hearing excuses and shifting blame on pre-existing imperfections or contractors not prepping properly, we knew we weren't going to achieve the level of work we wanted. Ultimately, we paid him the balance owed. However, we asked him for a quote for the rest of the house to compare rates and gladly hired another painter to fix and repaint almost every wall (absent ceilings). We are now very happy with our current painter. This only proves that we weren't the only one seeing the imperfections. We received higher quality work for a more competitive price.
