I really enjoyed the staff here. So a while back I was experiencing pain in my Achilles. After getting an MRI there were no fractures or broken bones, but my doctor recommended that I see a physical therapist. Here I did several exercises to get my mobility back and strengthen my ankle. The staff makes you feel welcome as soon as you enter the door. Brandon makes sure that you are doing the exercise correctly. He does not just tell you what to do and walk away. He comes by to check up on you. He has a great rapport with the clients. He adds positive energy to the therapy place. Earl and Ann are also very attentive. They will answer your questions and explain why certain exercises are needed. Some therapists don't realize that we may not recognize the exercises by the names they use for them. We may need more of a demonstration. It helps to be reminded how to do the exercises correctly. First of all the people are very nice and polite. I have no issue with that. My issue is with the practice. On my first visit the therapist took more than an hour to evaluate me and did not have any time left for exercises or treatment. On that day after the visit I went to the front desk to schedule my next visits. I got the next visit with this same therapist on a Friday but after that they said she is on vacation for the week after. So they said do this next visit with her and she will suggest what to do when she is on vacation. I go on Friday which is today and I see that she is not there and I was treated by another therapist (I think) who kept saying that he did not do the evaluation and that I should ask my original therapist when I asked him some questions. My exercises and other treatment was done my a Tech who was nice. Now I went to the front desk to get my next appointment when they say that my original therapist will be on vacation and that they don't know when she will return. This is when I got furious and asked how can they let a therapist evaluate someone when she is going to be out of their practice? The one hour that she spent with me in the first visit was a total waste and I had paid my copay for that which seems to be of no use! The front desk people just kept apologizing which is of no use for me. So I asked them to have the main person at this practice to call me today urgently. They said she is very busy and not sure if she will be able to call me. This made me very upset and I just walked out of the facility. I waited for her call but have not yet gotten a call from them. I believe that medical treatment specially physical therapy needs to have some continuity with the same therapist. These people should understand that and instead of just apologizing they need to do something about it. I feel like I just wasted my two sessions here! read more

So I just finished my first physical therapy appointment after having knee surgery a week ago to repair a torn meniscus. This is definitely worth the drive from Jones Creek, because the therapist (Van) took time to thoroughly assess the circumstances of my injury and surgical repair. We went through a number of exercises, and while they were a little uncomfortable during the execution, I actually feel better right now than I did when I got up this morning. He printed them out for me to do at home and as soon as insurance gives the green light, I'll probably come once or twice a week for the next four weeks. Goals: strengthening my knees and improving my balance. I was just really impressed with how carefully Van assessed my physical condition by taking precise range of motion measurements and helped me to determine what my goals should be to get stronger and avoid injury in the future. I've been to other physical therapists closer to where I live -- the assessment was minimal, the exercise was barely explained, and the PT wandered off to chit chat with friends. I'm super impressed with ProActive Physical Therapy and am optimistic about not only recovering from my injury/surgery, but achieving better health than before. read more

After two weeks of walking bend over and having pain that did not allow me to sleep in my bed, l finally got an appointment with Pro Active in Pearland. Amy gave me a massage and some exceises and sent me home. The next morning I had no pain and could walk standing straight up. Amy and her staff are so awesome starting with the friendly reception staff!! There are not enough great words to say how thankful I am for these great folks. At first I was pleased with the center but as time went on the attention to detail was not there. The staff seemed far more interested in chit chatting between themselves. I was told what I was paying out of pocket was it (mind you I saw the sheet and I was paying WAY more that anyone. Also being in the healthcare business, was not to sure about the billing practices as one charge was billed under a questionable REV Code. After the final session, where Amy Hudak stated I was in worse shape that when I came in, they turned around and balance billed me almost $300.00 and if you don't pay the balance Hudak wants to add interest. I have been to ProActive twice due to neck surgeries I have had. Everyone there is wonderful! They are all friendly and helpful, and they really made me enjoy my time there. I actually looked forward to going to PT every week, because they created such a great environment to be in. It never seemed like I was there for treatement, but more just hanging out with friends. I do not have 1 negative thing to say about any one person that works there, they are all great people and I feel lucky to have had the chance to work with them. They helped me get back to normal after surgery, and helped me get back to feeling well, and for that I am truly grateful. read more

My daughter had a neck injury resulting from an accident playing sports. ProActive's staff (Amy and Kevin) was able to get her immediate relief after one treatment. After two weeks of therapy my daughter returned to high-level play on her travel team. We should have asked our doctor for different help (other than meds) a long time ago. When we asked, he said "PT might help". Well, it did and we wished he'd been faster at ordering treatment. We would highly recommend ProActive to get your athlete back in great form. read more

When my entire chart is examined in several Physician offices WITH THEIR EYES, the Physical Therapist probably should ask the physicians for ALL TEST RESULTS, such as MRI'S, X-RAYS, CT scans, blood sugar levels, stool specimens, etc, and not THE PATIENT. Wait a minute, the PT has no jurisdiction with this information, because he is out of his league. My problem is the PT assigned to me was more interested in the results and scans than helping me with my pains. Maybe this guy was stating he did not have confidence in my pains, my doctors diagnoses, etc. but his demeanor and spirit was strange towards me. I quickly got away from there, because this same guy was trashing my file about my visits, when he failed to communicate and follow up with me as the patient. I headed this mess off at my personal doctors offices and at this place with their administrator, IN WRITING. NOTICE: When you need to talk to the heads, e-mail them for the information, because writing is a more compelling communication method and forces their hands to respond to you with proper answers. How do I know? I practiced over three decades in the health care arena and the old saying, "If it is not in writing, it NEVER HAPPENED", is very true and helps protect you, the patient from improper documentation in your medical file. I don't know why this Asian Physical Therapy guy was trying to trash me in my medical files, but he forgot to consult with my FATHER, The Lord, because "No Weapon Formed Against Me shall Prosper" and "Fret not thyself against evil doers and neither be envious against their works of evil, for they shall be cut down like the grass and wither as the green herbs." Absolutely AMAZING Physical therapy clinic and staff! I had the pleasure of shadowing the physical therapists in this clinic for a couple weeks as a 4th year medical student and i am so impressed with the not only the bedside manner of each physical therapist, but their techniques and expertise as well! It was such a great experience seeing patients progress every single visit and even in just one visit patients felt so much relief. Lisa Seller-Simon was a GREAT mentor. She knows exactly what she is doing and is also a wonderful instructor to learn from. I went into this rotation wanting to learn more about physical therapy in general and how beneficial the treatment option will be for my future patients and man am i convinced! ProActive physical therapy has my future referrals because i know from first hand experience each and every patient is in great hands from the start. I highly recommend this practice to patients as well as any students interested in shadowing. read more

The staff has a great bedside manner. They are very knowledgeable and do not mind helping educate you on your body. They help you to rehabilitate without pushing you past you tolerance level. The facilities are clean. There are many different stations for all the different types of injuries. They even have a rehab pool. I would definitely recommend this place for all your physical therapy needs. read more

Unfortunately, I was not happy getting my therapy at this facility. Most people would not realize or know for that matter, that techs are never supposed to treat patients. In my few visits to this facility, most, and I mean most (90%), of the time I was treated by techs. My first visit was with a PT. (My initial evaluation must be completed by a licensed physical therapist). The second visit was supposed to be with a PTA. In that visit, I was shown all excersise by techs and completed them with only the tech in visual line of site. (A tech is a none licensed person with no formal training. They are never to be delivering treatment) The PTA came by and literally said 4 words to me the whole session ("How are you doing"). This was the same this my third visit. On my fourth visit the PTA spend 7 mins with me the rest was with techs. The fifth time was the last straw, when at the end of my session I reminded the PT of the therapy my doctor ordered (TENS). To which he responded, "oh yeah". Then he ordered the tech to put on the pads for the TENS therapy.....what!!!!! They are never to touch a patient (with exception of helping to transport a patient) let alone put pads on them. If you like going to this place then you don't know how physical therapy is supposed to go......I am now going to Select Physical Therapy which is 8 mins down the street from ProActive. They ONLY employ PT's or DPT's. No PTA's or techs! Get your monies worth and the care you need and go to Select. read more

Amy and Earl are good listeners and genuinely care about addressing problem areas so I can reach my goals. I'm very happy with my progress so far. Everyone is friendly and there seems to be a good teamwork environment. I've made over 20 visits and never had to wait more than a couple minutes in the waiting room. I'm also happy that scheduling / rescheduling appointments is never a problem. Would not hesitate to recommend them to friends and family. read more

I went there once and I do not want to see them again.When you go there at your first visit you get nothing but may be a hot pack. The first visit called evaluation that with insurance they told me will coast $78. Well with that kind of money I could do my own hot pack with a heating pad for free. read more

I have arthritis in my back and other joints, so I have a chronic problem. I have returned to ProActive Physical Therapy about 5 times. They are able to both push a person to achieve what they need to achieve and yet convey concern. Each time they bring me to the point where I can move better and achieve a better quality of life. The Therapists are knowledgeable and on top of problems. The staff who are the ones most involved with a person's day to day therapy are quite capable and enjoyable to work with. read more

This has to do with my insurance and billing. Originally, we talked about my insurance which I have a HIGH 5500 deductable and also cash pay. Knowing I would not near meet the deductable. So I guess there was a misunderstanding or misrepresntation about what I was paying. I went to PT 3 times a week the first month and then 2 times a week the second month. They never sent any statement for almost 3 months until after I quit going. I didn't expect one due to the fact I was paying no insurance cash which I was quoted except 100 for evaluations. The first statement I received was for 2 of the most recent visits. Which I didn't understand why they billed backwards. I trusted that they called my insurance and they accepted ALL Aetna plans. But come to find out, they are out of network on my plan. Being out of network to me means they are NOT on my plan b/c why would you pay much more when you could go to another in network and pay much less. I feel deceived b/c if I had received any statements from the begining, I would have realized that they were out of network for my plan and I will now be responsible for a higher percentage of 50% or more and after going as many as 20 visits and already paid 78 per visit, I will be paying a large bill. The first month I actually owed 600+ b/c of out of network charges and looks like other charges added that I need to make since of. I feel like they didn't send statements so I would keep going unaware of the mega charges building. If I had known, I would have immediately gone to another facility that was IN my network and paid much less. Very deceiving. I wish we could have had a better mutual understanding of the charges. read more
