Over the past 30 years or so I have had the opportunity to sample several of the physical therapy practices in the Clear Lake area. I first went to Valeo on the advice of my orthopedic surgeon due to some hip pain I was having that was making it painful to walk. It turns out my problem was with a muscular imbalance brought about by many years sitting behind a desk. Paul and the folks at Valeo started with a full assessment and pinpointed exactly what needed to be worked. It wasn't just a set of exercises to work a particular muscle group but a set of exercises and stretches that emphasized the whole body and its effect on the specific region - an integrated approach. One thing that I noticed right away was that unlike most physical therapists where the goal was merely to reduce the pain and get you back to a minimum functionality, they worked with me to get to a level of performance so I could do the types of activities I enjoyed or at least used to enjoy doing. So they worked me! The treatment was so successful that I went back for treatment of several herniated discs in my neck. This is a chronic condition that they made much more tolerable over a few weeks and gave me a set of exercises and trigger point release techniques that have allowed me to manage my pain and the effects of the condition on the rest of my body with minimal medication. I'm 56 years old and I find that I break down almost faster than I build up and I'm always moving in some way where I hurt something. As a result of my successful treatments, I decided to try their boot camp in order to get into shape and make sure I don't hurt myself. A great part about it is that when I do move funny and pull something I can tell them about it and they can modify the work out to strengthen/heal the affected area and allow me to continue on. In the past I would hurt myself and be out of action for days or weeks. This has been a highly successful strategy as I have lost over 20 lbs and am about to embark on a Boy Scout backpacking trip to Philmont in July where we will be hiking ~70 miles over 12 days with 40 lb packs. I can't say enough good things about Paul and the staff at Valeo. They are all great folks who really care about what they are doing and you can tell for them it is more than just a job - it's their mission to make you feel better and perform at your best. read more

My daughter has CRPS in her right ankle and is frequently in a wheelchair when the disease is flaring because she is unable to walk due to high pain levels. Another facility had treated her for 3 episodes of the disease, but had taken over 4 months to get her back on her feet. I went to Valeo looking for new or non-traditional therapies to treat her pain and get her walking pain-free in a shorter amount of time. Paul Colosky at Valeo Physical Therapy is one of the few physical therapists that I have found that actually had experience treating CRPS. He had her back on her feet in two days and free of pain in less than two weeks! He uses innovative therapies which promote quicker healing. Whole body cryotherapy, alter-G treadmill, 830 laser, Far Ray Saunas, and Air Relax Sequential Air Compression Leg Massager are most effective in keeping her pain-free and relieving pain during a flare. Paul and his staff are caring and friendly and seem to know more about relieving pain and treating injuries than any other medical facility that I have ever used. I am so grateful to have found them. Paul and his staff have bee incredibly knowledgeable, effective, and encouraging to my daughter who has a knee injury from playing sports. I can't say enough positive things about the entire team at Valeo, from the minute you walk in the door to the follow through by sending the home workout (with pics) via email! Her knee injury has been tricky because it had more than one thing going on, but this team's knowledge has really helped. Soon, she's going to start strength and conditioning training with them to learn to prevent future problems due to her biomechanical idosyncrasies. I am currently a member at a local gym but wanted more personalized service. My husband and I both joined Valeo and have been very impressed. The first time I walked in the door I was greeted by Michelle. She is so warm and friendly. I am currently doing TRX training with Tony. Love it! I am extremely pleased with the results I am getting from this workout. Last week 2 of the other trainers joined in the class-I was a little intimidated at first. But they did the workout with me encouraging me the whole hour. Needless to say this is a huge cut above your normal workout! read more

I don't usually write reviews, but Valeo has been working with me for 3 months after a horrific knee injury and they pay attention to where the pain is and work very hard at getting you rehabbed. Paul who is the owner, is there on a daily basis working with clients and using his expertise to make sure you are getting the exact PT you need on an individual one on one basis with either him or his very professional staff. In closing, I have an injury that is suppose to take minimum a year to recover from and I'm already walking! Great job Valeo! See y'all next week read more

Valeo has been a blessing to my entire family. For my sons who are involved in sports, Valeo has helped with sprained ankles and recovery after broken bones. For my wife and me, Valeo has helped to get us on a right track to keep us functioning and we want to be able to enjoy our kids for many years to come. Their staff are knowledgeable and personable. As the leader of the group, Paul oversees all the therapy and treatment plans; apparently he trains therapists, so sometimes there is a turnaround, but the staff is very attentive and knowledgeable in the exercises they administer to their clients. I also receive dry needling from Paul, which is helping tremendously with my neck and arm issues! I am very happy with Valeo Physical Therapy, and I also receive Cryotherapy at Valeo Cryo, which has improved my mood, my skin, and my joints! Very glad my daughter's doctor referred us to Valeo! They were able to alleviate my daughter's knee pain when nothing else had helped her. The staff is amazing and knowledgeable. They also have Valeo Fit, and I've been training with their personal trainer, Tony, since I saw how patient and helpful they were with my daughter. I really feel like the people here care about my health and work very hard to figure out exactly what I need to best speed my recovery.
