Whenever a child is struggling in school there are many aspects to take into account. Adhd, Sensory processing disorder, Autism, visual processing issues, Dyslexia, learning disabilities and that is just naming the common issues. So often parents will take an initial diagnosis as fact but in reality these conditions run so parallel it is often difficult to say with certainty. Being a parent is hard but when your child struggles the ante is raised. No one knows their child like a parent does but often a school or Dr. will label a child because they don't learn the same as the average child, often psychostimulants are prescribed unnecessarily. Building bridges is an amazing place with caring therapist that will help to tease out conditions and give alternative therapies to children as well as suggest stimilants if necessary.
