I wouldn't leave her alone there. I was with her all day and hired a private nurse to stay with her at night The place was filled with cockroaches. The food was absolute pig slop. It is simply a place for people who have no family to lay in bed all day every day and die. Luckily I was able to get my mother out of there after three weeks of her health deteriorating. She is now in memorial regional Hospital, which is wonderful. The nastiness of the employees at this facility is something I've never experienced in my life. They treated my mother like garbage and they treated me even worse. this place needs to go out of business.

Before I start, I want to make clear that I wrote this review on my own accord. I did not write…read morethis review for any personal gains, nor am I biased or affiliated with this clinic in any way. Just like all my other reviews, this one is objective and reliable, with no conflict of interest, and I'm telling it the way it is. The main reason I am writing this review is to inform the public what I have experienced and observed (as a pre-med student who has been shadowing Julietta and Ivan for about 4 months) at Ocean Therapy Center (OTC). This clinic specializes in neurological and orthopedic conditions (including chronic pain) for individuals of all ages. The therapists at this clinic are experienced and knowledgeable in what they are doing. They do not put a band-aid on the problem, but instead go to the root and attempt to solve it. There are very few places that can do what the therapists at OTC can do. This fact is supported by the evidence of the wide range of international patients who come to this clinic to be treated and the number of referrals this clinic gets from their former patients. At this center, patients get one-on-one personal care/attention with the therapists. Unlike other clinics, OTC is patient-happiness driven. The staff truly do care and want the patient to make progress and improve their quality of life. The therapists use a variety of techniques and equipments (Therasuit, MEDEK, Universal Cage Therapy, Quantum Reflex Integration, Craniosacral Therapy, VOILA Method, Redcord Suspension, Deep Tissue Laser Therapy, Microcurrent Point Stimulation, and essential oils) in addition to the basic physical therapy foundational knowledge/concepts. I can personally testify that I have seen patients initially come in for pain (whether it is a newly submerged pain or it has been there for a while) and walk out pain free. With the various techniques and equipments used at OTC, patients are leaving this clinic in a better state than they initially were in when they started their treatments (orthopedic and neurological patients alike). If you want to see a real difference and improvement in your quality of life, I would highly recommend booking a consultation with Julietta and to give this clinic a try. Trust the patient testimonials; you will not regret this decision.

I've been here 4+ times for treatments in my left wrist and right hip area. The pain in these locations has been present for years but after just 2 treatments the pain was gone and they even taught me ways to keep the pain from coming back. Ivan was very gentle and really knows how to uncover the underlying issue of pain you are experiencing. He was able to pinpoint the cause of my pain in my left wrist and right hip area and I am happy to say the pain is gone! I highly recommend Ocean Therapy Center!

We had a serious issue with pill mills in the past, and I would like to think those days are over…read more After one visit to this place, I'm not so sure. To begin with, I arrived early for my visit so I could fill out their ridiculous amount of paperwork. On it were the obligatory questions about the pain I was in, but no one seemed concerned with what I put down, as they kept referring to other things that were not bothering me. Also, when I made the appointment, I specifically asked for Dr. Amin, but I never saw him. I filled out the paperwork and sat in the annoying waiting room where the television is entirely too loud and on a continuous loop of ads. Nothing else. I wished there was a remote out there so I could turn it off, but that would show true concern for the patients and you won't find that here. I finally was brought in to the madness of the back, and Michael, the nurse (I'm not sure if he's actually a nurse but I don't think he's a physician's assistant and I know he's not a doctor) could not have been nicer. If this review was about him, it would be five stars. He was the only one I met who actually listened to me. Next came the PA. This could either stand for Physician's Assistant or Pain in the Ass, you can decide for yourself. She was a nightmare. She apologized for the amount of time I had to wait, but she had to go outside because her car was hit. Which is saying to the patient that her car is more important. That gives you an idea of the caliber of the practice. Finally the doctor came in. He stood across the room and recited to me what his PA had written down, incorrectly, which completely threw him off because he had already decided on the the diagnosis and course of treatment (all with drugs) before he walked in the room. He never examined me, he stood with his back against the door and never entered any further into the room. I now know how lepers must feel. He prescribed several medications for me, which is why I started feeling like I was in a pill mill. Then he told me he would call in another prescription, and that pharmacy would call me to make arrangements. I was also to have an MRI. Finally, something that made sense. His office would arrange that and the MRI office would call me to schedule. I also had to give them a urine sample, but for the life of me, I don't know why. I gave it to them. I have yet to hear anything more about it. I was shown to the front desk where the receptionist immediately tried to book my next appointment. I informed her that I couldn't very well do that since I hadn't had the MRI yet, which completely threw her off. I patiently explained to her (maybe not so patiently) that I had to have an MRI and that her office was going to call the MRI place and let them know what the were scanning, and once that was done, then I would call and make the next appointment. I'm guessing she gets paid on how many appointments she makes because she was not happy. Several weeks later I received a letter in the mail from some company that claimed they had been trying to call me (even though I never got a phone call from them) to finalize the medication. I checked and it's a medication that is NOT covered by my insurance, and I can only guess that Dr. Macek gets a kickback from the drug company, because I cannot come up with another reason why he would prescribe this for me, particularly since he still had not examined me. Oh, and the MRI? Well, it's been over a month and I still have not heard from anyone about that. As I said, this made me think I was in a pill mill and nothing has happened since change my opinion. In reading the reviews on here, it seems that most patients are very happy with Dr. Amin. I cannot understand why I was not put on his schedule when I specifically asked for him, but I was not. Sadly, I'm not willing to give this place another chance.

I do pilates, bike ride, tai chi, yoga, and swim in the ocean. I was actively playing Racquetball and Pickleball until last October. Suddenly, I was not able to play Racquetball, Pickleball, was barely able to carry packages with my right arm nor swim due to pain in my right shoulder. Given my age, I also experienced pain in my knees due to arthritis. When I try to flex my knees beyond 90 degrees, like when you do deep squats I feel pain. This is because I also have tight quadriceps. I got an shoulder MRI and learned that I have a tear in my labrum. I saw an orthopedic surgeon who suggested I undergo orthoscopic surgery to smooth away the tear. I would then have to do a least six weeks of physical therapy before I could resume any kind of physical activities. HUM BUG L Dr Chambers and Dr Light promised me I would definitely be able to resume playing Pickleball and all of the activities I enjoy if I did physical therapy at least twice a week. We worked out a schedule that allowed me to do physical therapy for my shoulder and knee each week. After approximately 5 months of physical therapy with Dr Chambers and Dr Light I am playing Pickleball again with minimal pain on both my shoulder and knees. Not only are my arms and legs stronger, but I now have full range of motion in my right shoulder. I am a Licensed Massage Therapist who earned an Associate Degree in Applied Science in New York City to become a licensed health care professional. Dr Chambers and Dr Light explain everything they do to me in anatomical and physiological terms. This not only makes me comfortable, but I have learned so much from them because they are doctors. They also make me feel respected as someone who also treats people through various physical methodologies. After much thought and conversations over the possible risks associated with any surgery, I decided against having shoulder surgery. The real deciding factor is that I have healed dramatically with physical therapy. I have been to many physical therapists over the years, but the physical therapists at Aries Physical Therapy by far have been in my opinion the most knowledgeable and competent. In particular, the techniques they use to mobilize and increase spaces in the joint to reduce friction are so effective. I am so happy that I can do several forms of exercise everyday throughout the day without pain. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you Melba
