I wish I read the review before hiring them to serve papers for me. I sent the request in 3 days ago, have to heard a peep from them. I have no idea if they actually doing it or not. They ask for you credit card info before hand so I'm afraid now I can't cancel the request. I called them and no answer, I message them on their site with no answer and when I called again they said they were closed for the day and it's only 1pm. I really don't know why there are negative reviews for this business. My experience has been completely different. I needed help serving some documents in a big rush. Ed answered all my calls immediately, Andria and Ed answered all my emails immediately, Laura and Andria served all my documents electronically the same day, almost immediately after I emailed the documents. Their pricing is so reasonable. I had a ton of documents to serve and I offered to pay more than their regular rate, they said just the regular rate will be fine. They served all of my documents. I could not be happier with this group. I will definitely use their services again. I am recommending them to others too. read more

I have NOT used their service yet, but I am absolutely giving them 5 stars for being patient and professional in what was probably the worst-timed call ever. I'd just gotten off the phone with another business in one of the top five most horrendous phone calls I've ever had in my entire life. Not this month, not this year, I'm talking EVER! Then Jim from this company called 60 seconds later, after I'd already hung up on that other company twice. Jim got a mouthful because I thought that same company was calling from a different phone number. I apologized profusely after realizing I was wrong and was so embarrassed. I'd actually contacted this company on my own, and he was returning an email request. I don't know what their service is like. What I do know is if Jim is any indication of the rest of the team, they are patient, professional and will "talk you down" in a chaotic situation. There's about a 95% chance I'll respond to his email (again) and hire this company if I must follow through with this delivery method. He could've just hung up on me and called it a day, but he did not. I appreciate that he understood the huge misunderstanding. Again, I apologize and THANK YOU. What a mess! In January I used their process server service. I paid on the same day. First it took them over 2 months ago to serve the person. Then I start getting additional charges on my credit card. They kept trying to double bill me. After hours of going between them ( which is almost impossible because no one answers their phone) and my bank I think it has been resolved. in the mail, today, is a notice from a collection company. I should have read your reviews before paying them over $200 to serve the same day some papers to a lawyer's office. NOW, they can keep my money, but I hope they DO NOT KEEPT YOURS. Stop doing business with this people. They even e-mail you saying that it they do not serve the papers you paid them to do, you still have to pay. I wish I read this before I paid them! I needed to have someone served in Northern California. They weren't familiar with the process in that County even though their website says they are. They could have told me that they needed to serve the Sherriff's office and THEN the employer, but they didn't and just kept my money. Of course all the reviews on their website are 4 stars and above, but they must filter those. I do not recommend. read more

If you want your matter taken care of, do not use this company! After I submitted the job, I had not heard from them. I had to follow up, and each time I was informed that the job had been sent out. After a MONTH, I got a reply that the server "got Covid and couldn't work". So, they said it would be assigned to someone else....and still nothing. I fired them today. Ed talked up a good story saying how good their employees are but they didnt hardly try to serve the legal papers i needed served. The communication was horrible. I called and emailed and it took 5 days to get the failed response. If you need legal papers served go through a reputable company that are physically located in your area. BEWARE! If it were possible to give zero stars, I would. My experience with Process Server One began in October 2023. I contacted Process Server One to issue a bank levy concerning an outstanding judgment. I spoke with Ed, who assured me that the process would be completed in a matter of weeks. I asked Ed to conduct an asset search to complete the bank levy. Ed put me in contact with a person named Laura who provided me with an Asset Search memo that was completely littered with errors and mistakes. When I highlighted the various mistakes I had noticed in the memo, Ed first insisted that the memo was accurate. Laura followed up with a revised memo correcting many of the issues I had identified. Skeptical that the memo was accurate, I again asked Laura to confirm that the bank she had identified was the correct one. Laura insisted that it was accurate. I then asked Ed and Laura to proceed with completing the bank levy. I constantly requested an update from Ed and Laura, and some of my requests went unanswered. With each request for an update, Ed and Laura requested new documents or information. At some point, I called Ed to express my displeasure with the service that I was receiving. I pointedly asked Ed whether he would be happy with the service he had provided to me. Ed refused to answer the question and instead proceeded to scream at me and accuse me of being rude. Three months later, Process Server One had still not conducted the bank levy. After the three months had lapsed, I realized that Process One Server simply did not know what it was doing so I terminated my business relationship with them and asked for a refund. Ed refused so I was forced to contact my bank to dispute the charge for services that were never rendered (I won). I subsequently hired a lawyer to complete the bank levy. That was when I was told that the bank that Laura had identified in the asset search did not have any records of the business. I contacted Ed and Laura and requested a refund for the asset search because it was incorrect. Instead of offering an apology, Ed refused to issue a refund. I also reached out to the company and they also refused to issue a refund. I feel it is my duty to alert the public about my experience so that people can make informed decisions about whether to proceed with Process Server for their business needs. read more

This company is the worst process server I ever used. They charged me more than their initial quote was to me, which was bad enough. But then they would never update me about their service attempts. What was a large window of time became more and more narrow. I frequently attempted to contact them about the status. It took forever to get back to me. When they did, it often wasn't helpful. Finally after pestering them enough, they told me it had been served. Then I waited a couple of days again without word. I had to continually bother them again about the status of the proof of service. When I got it, it had a huge error that made me think they messed up. In short, only use this company if you want to waste money, spend tons of time following up, and are ok with service that may or may not be proper. read more

I used them at first to locate a particular individual to serve notice on a debtor's examination, since I secured a judgment to enforce and collect. They found the information, asked to serve. Turn out they found the wrong address on the report that they gave me, and promised to re-serve, and admitted their error of the address. So when I attempted to communicate on status of subsequent service, I keep getting voice-mail, and hunged, up, now I get e-mails telling not be to communicate with them anymore. They refunded my money for the service, but then for someone they issued a further invoice to pay back the same money!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT CHUTZPAH!!!!! Do not use this firm!!! I Found thru a google search and chose because they list Martinez as a service area (actually all areas of CC County). NONE of the procedures listed on the website were followed. Filled out the forms, uploaded docs, and expected the free estimate. Couldn't submit docs until I provided a credit card, but website said billing wouldn't take place until the invoice provided was approved. They acknowledged receipt of docs but I never got an invoice to approve. I called the following Monday to see what I would be charged and was told $95. I approved. However before the service was complete (within the 5 days they consider "regular") my card was charged $367. After the service was complete I reached out (several times) to see if there would be an adjustment. I was told "I am sorry quote $95 was misquote, the serve you request in such a remote area, we couldn't do with $95, serve was completed (date). " Since all activity took place within city limits I was surprised to hear I live in such a remote area. My complaint and request for detailed description of activity has not been addressed. Service was complete but I feel they prey upon people who are in desperate situations. read more

I've been in practice almost 30 years and this is by far the worst process server I have used. I spent hours giving detailed instructions re: service on an alleged incapacitated person, which I arranged with her caregiver, only to find out the process server either ignored the instructions or it was never relayed to him. Insanely expensive, and it took them 13 days to send me the affidavit of service after repeated requests. NEVER AGAIN. read more

I second the other terrible reviews of this business--apparently unanimous. Botched job all around despite billing over $1K. Poor communication. I had to go back to them over and over to find whether service was successful, ask for affidavits, etc. because they rarely communicated and sent things late. They billed my credit card without sending invoices until much later, and the invoices didn't even include dates. read more

I would never recommend this company to anyone. Be advised this company is the worst. Process server one charges you whether or not they locate the person to serve. I hired them in April and payed for there services then 4 months later they sent me a charge for a second location that I had put as a option. I disputed it with there office telling them they only went to one location and that was the only report I received. they said it will stand because I added a second location as a option. during the time I did use them they were rude and wanted to charge me even more for following up with them through email or calls. Do not use this company ever!!! I then found a really great company (SKIPNSERVE) who actually found the person and were able to finish the job these people at process server one in Costa Mesa could not do. At Process Server One Jim B was horrible to speak with and had an attitude and was very unpleasant when I did get on the phone with him. he made this experience more stressful especially with a extra charge They claim they went to but never showed proof and charged me anyway After I Disputed it.
