Why do we buy produce at the food store? I ask myself this every time! They have everything from green peppers to bananas to spinach to flowers. Buy a single mango for $2.00 or 3rdsof peppers for $3.00 dollars. The service is amazing and fast. They are always restocking so the products are always fresh and available, ready for sale. There is plenty of room for walking around to make your selections with ease. The store is clean with lots of light. read more

If you eat a lot of fruits and veggies this is the place for you. They have so many varieties it's unbelievable. There were exotic things and things I had never heard of. Some of the things you buy in bulk so it would be too much for my small household. On a recent visit, I got a small bag of organic apples. They were delicious! They also carry seasonal items. On this visit they had scarecrows and pumpkins and fall flowers like mums. This is also a great place to get flowers. We got flowers from here for my daughter's baby shower and used them for the tables. They were really nice. Prices are really good. Two separate lines to pay for the fruits and veggies which I thought was strange. You have to wait in line to buy your vegetables and then get in a different line to buy your fruit. We came during the week so it wasn't a long wait. Not sure what the weekends are like! I imagine they are very busy. read more

The wife and I have been coming here of years. It is our go to place for two things; vegetables and flowers. We are clearly not the only ones that like this place. The parking lot is usually very similar to a demolition derby! It's really busy. There is a reason for the heavy activity. The selection and freshness are great! Visited: Friday - February 13, 2015 - 1PM I purchase vegetables and fruit. I select produce I'm able to consume before rotting. The store only accepts FRUIT purchases on one side and VEGETABLES on the other. The prices are posted over each section via a huge board. In my opinion, the produce exceeds the quality found in supermarkets. The prices are generally less expensive than supermarkets. The biggest draw for Produce Junction are the flowers, I've never purchased flowers. The flowers APPEAR fresh and colorful. There is a separate register for flower purchases. The prices APPEAR competitive. The produce lines are a bit of a challenge when busy. Regular patrons understand that ONE line forms between registers. The next person in line slides to the open register. Parking is is also a challenge when busy. Patience is a must! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Aside: A yelper below felt "forced" to purchase at PJ's despite knowing the bulk-only purchases requirement. She devoted a major portion of her evaluation challenging the policy. I've patronized PJ's for years and never felt "forced" to purchase anything. I have been going here for many years at least once a week and some times several times a week for plants , fruit and vegetables. Their prices were always great and the products while maybe not top of the line were very good for the price. In the last six months or so they have gone off a cliff and I am not sure why. The plants last year were not of good quality and they shut down right after the Fourth of July. Inside the service is now terrible. They used to have the same folks working there for long periods of time and they were friendly and helpful. Now I do not recognize anyone and while not outright rude they are very unhelpful although there are some exceptions .They have thrown my purchases and change at me several times. I know a lot of them are kids but they are not being managed appropriately. Sorry to say , as much as I enjoy saving money, I will take my business elsewhere read more

Great selection of affordable fresh produce. If you go on weekends, there will be long lines. Twice I have been overcharged. They hire mostly high school kids who always make mistakes in calculating the final price and will overcharge. I frequent Produce Junction as it is locally convenient as well as always having fresh fruit, veggies, decorations for whatever season & friendly and a VERY helpful staff. I always go there for what I call my "Flyers Tree" - it's a smaller version of a Christmas Tree and it's always so reasonable! $10 bucks for a good looking 'short tree'. Can't beat it! Plus they sometimes have Christmas lights - all orange, for my Flyers of course Anyways, I loooove coming here and you really just can't beat the prices when it comes to the entire store in general. Produce Junction is one of those 'Hidden Gems' where you want to tell everyone about it, but yet at the same time, you want to keep it all to yourself. 5 Stars, hands down, longtime & forever customer. I am sadly disappointed at the treatment I received today at the Broomall store. I bought a bag of carrots last week and they got moldy. When I tried to return them today,the manager, a young guy, refused to take them back. I don't mind if I lose a tomato. a cucumber or a couple peppers from a bag (the habanero's ALWAYS got moldy so I stopped getting them there), it's par for the course. A WHOLE BAG of carrots dying in a week is worth going back to exchange. Not getting the exchange is UNACCEPTABLE! I have been a customer at the Broomall store for roughly 10 years or more and have never had an issue returning produce in the past. It seems ever since the old manager left, the quality of the produce has declined as has the customer service. This new kid wouldn't budge. Needless to say, losing roughly a thousand dollars a year in business over a two dollar bag of carrots is foolish, as is the manager. I have other produce vendors in the area, specifically Gentile's, whose quality and price is comparable. I prefer Junction for a number of reasons but the poor quality of the customer service exhibited by that amateur manager in Broomall compels me to take my business where it's welcome. read more

It was my first time at this location ..the check out person had 0 personality , I asked for a bag for flowers .. All the PJ's I've been to you pay for your flowers at the fruit part. I thought I had payed for the flowers he never mentioned that u needed to pay in another part of the store . I put my stuff in the car and came back in to buy a few more items when he yelled at me that I hadn't payed for the flowers , embarrassing me in front of other customers .. I enjoy cooking and I've been shopping here for years. On each visit I fill the cart with inexpensive fruits and vegetables. I also try to pick up some flowers on the way out. I checked this place out for the first time today and walked away with 3 huge bags of fruits and veggies for 35 bucks! It is seriously cheaper than the local grocery stores and the selection and variety was vast. I must be the only one who shops for more than one meal at once because I was holding up the line with my long list! Oh well. I was expecting more of a grocery store or farmers market set up, but this was more like a take out place. You walk in and there are three sections of items - fruits, veggies and flowers & garden. Each of the sections have a giant white board with the prices of each item available on it. You decide what you want and then tell the person behind the counter and they will bag your goods and ring you up. I ended up making a list so I didn't forget anything when I got to the front since there was so much to choose from. The selection of each item is really thorough too. For example, even in April, you could choose from 6 different types of Tomatoes and maybe 12 types of Apples. I paid a fraction of what I normally pay and walked away with a lot more in quantity. The flowers were great too. I paid only $3.50 for a large bunch of Gladiolas. You can't beat that! My only drawback was that I saw nothing listed as Organic. * I believe it is cash only. read more

Fresh and incredibly inexpensive produce. Particularly good for things like ginger, Parsley and cilantro. Like a farmers market, you pay cash at separate cash registers for flowers, veggies and fruit. The longish lines move swiftly and though the fruit and some veggies are pre-bagged, we have been very pleased with the quality. For instance, the clementines, pears, red grapes and apples had much more flavor than what we typically get at Giant or Acme. As noted elsewhere, most of the fruit was ripe so had to be eaten within days and we had to toss a few grapes, but for the price, we didn't mind. I love Produce Junction for staples like onions, potatoes, mangoes and apples. Some more delicate items are "iffy". I have stopped buying cucumbers because even if i wash them and dry carefully, they often start disintegrating in a matter of half a day. Gave 2 stars because the manager of Produce Junction was seemingly let go. He was such a fixture for years and obviously had the respect of those who worked for him. Always courteous to us, the customers. I am inclined to believe his departure had something to do with increased profits for the owners. That's amazing!! That place is always jumping and does a huge business in flowers. So, why did the person who built the business for you have to go? We, the customers, miss Shawn. He had good qualities. read more

The other reviews have it pretty much summed it up; great value and selection. I won't buy my produce or flowers anywhere else now. The only negatives are that this place is almost always super-busy;it's best to avoid weekends if you want to avoid the crowds (but the lines do move pretty fast). Also, I sometimes feel rushed by the employees when trying to look at the prices of what I'm buying before I pay (you don't get a receipt after all, what's the point of going if you aren't really saving money!) I do not need an special occasion to purchase flowers for myself or others, and they are a "must have" for any party or hostess gift. Sadly it seems, (that even if you are willing to part with alot of cash) - " ...a rose is a rose is a rose !" In these modern commercial agricultural times roses have little or no scent and come in government issue red/yellow/pink. (Unless you have the luck to have access to an really old rose bush you can not even imagine what you are missing.) With that said, although the roses at Produce Junction have no scent- they do come in an ever changing variety of colour (both gradated and solid) and sizes (both long- stemmed and tea.) Large bunches and nothing over $ 10. They are so fresh you will be amazed at how much longer they last than bouquets that you paid 10 times the price for. They often have tiger lilies, calla lilies, gerbera daisies, assorted greens, sunflowers,mixed bouquets and potted plants (including orchids and bonsai.) They sell vases, but I am confident that you have plenty of appropriate ones at home. By the way, their fruits,vegetables, and nuts are very good as well. There is actually a greater variety here than at any grocery store or produce stand that I have ever been to. The only down side is paying for your haul. Vegetables, fruits and flowers ALL HAVE SEPARATE CHECK OUT LINES AND CASHIERS. read more

Just bought a bouquet of red roses ($10) and upon unwrapping 1/2 hour later, all the petals and flower heads completely fell off. Total ripoff! Whether you buy in bulk at PJ or grocery store, invest in a package of Debbie Meyer Green Bags available on Amazon or Bed Bath & Beyond. Don't wash anything first. Just put fruits and veggies in these bags (1 type per bag), close the top and refrigerate. They last for weeks and weeks! Just pull out what you need, wash it and use it. 20 bags cost $10 but so worth it. Nothing spoils in these bags. They really work. Between PJ in Marple which has a huge selection, and storing the stuff in these bags at home, I'm set for a month after 1 trip to PJ. Total convenience! read more
