They even let us pick up empty boxes from their office free of charge which was very helpful and appreciated. Our move team consisted of 3 young men Donova was the team leader. We had a great experience with these guys! First of all-- I thought we couldn't afford to hire professionals, but I was wrong. This was probably the best decision we've made in a while. They came out and quoted a "worst case scenario" as far as cost-- which wasn't nearly what I was expecting. My husband and I moved as many boxes as we could in advance. Moving day they were on time, professional, and worked quickly. When the move was complete, the total was even less than expected. The guys even gave us great tips on where to eat in the area, as we moved nearby their Walled Lake location. I'm so glad we did this. So much better than begging friends! read more

This is strictly based on price. The company only quoted us and have not been utilized for our move. There is a total of 18 furniture pieces, including 4 dining table chairs and a total of 5 medium sized boxes. With only the dining table and the buffet being the two heaviest pieces in all of our furniture. This is within a 2 bedroom unit. The move shouldn't be too difficult. But their rates are quite too steep. Im sure they do an amazing job, but not worth $820. They quoted us a 3 man crew, two hours to load, two hours to unload, 30 minutes to drive, and one hour to pay for their gas @ $149/hr. The total driving distance and time between the two homes are 8.3 miles and roughly 19 minutes, according to Google Maps. After further checking Yelp reviews and doing other searches, we found a much cheaper solution. Except we rent our own truck with the highest coverage and the movers take care of the rest. And yes they too offer a three man crew. read more

Moving is always stressful, and my most recent move was one of the most stressful experiences of my adult life. With plans that changed drastically over the course of several hours, I my moving date changed from "a month from now" to "3 days from now." I had been in contact with Professional Movers as soon as I knew I was moving, and they were somehow able to magically accommodate my schedule change. Each and every team member, from the email inquiries to phone calls to project manager to movers, treated me with the utmost respect, and a cool-and-collected sense of urgency. Moving Day was of course laden with torrential rain from dawn 'til dusk, but that didn't hinder the team of movers in the least. My old home (as in, "built in the 1920's") was somewhat of a logistical nightmare due to outdated ergonomics, tight turns and treacherously steep stairwells, but the team came in undaunted and figured out the move, item by item. They had every right to be frustrated/peeved by the totality of the situation, but nobody displayed anything but positivity, confidence and "get-sh*t-doneness." The crew was super fast and efficient, and nothing but friendly and conversational the entire time. They took great care to protect my home and belongings from bumps, dings, foot traffic and elements. The day was long and exhausting for everybody involved, but the team remained pros throughout and made sure everything was placed exactly where I wanted it in my new home. I'm so happy that my stuff got moved, but even happier by the level of service provided by the entire Professional Movers staff. Moving is always stressful. Well after having my things in storage for about 2 years I completely forgot how much crap I had. It's A LOT. Luckily Professional Movers were ready for the challenge. And bless their hearts they did an amazing job. I was definitely a challenge. Not only did I have a ton of crap but I also had things in two places--my storage unit and my mom's. They were able to get everything into the truck safely and I was thoroughly impressed with the care they took to make sure that all my things made it in one piece. At my house they got to work right away, moving furniture, asking me specifically where I wanted things to go, and more. They were SO polite and careful with all of my belongings. I actually had to tell them a few times "hey, that box is just full of clothes--don't stress out about it!" or "that table is a cheap thing I picked up, don't worry about it!" but they wouldn't even think of treating any piece less important than another. My new house is one built in the 20s which means it has some awkward stairways and spaces so two of my pieces of furniture wouldn't make it where it was supposed to go. They gave it their all but they couldn't make it work. They were SO apologetic about it and even game a small discount on my services since they couldn't perform the job as required. And it wasn't even their fault! The job lasted A LOT longer than we had anticipated and it was VERY hot out yet they kept working, only taking one short break and getting back to it. I was honestly so impressed with the whole process. I don't plan on moving again for a LONG time but if I were I wouldn't hesitate to give them a call again. They were fantastic! read more

This review is based solely on lack of communication. I had left 2 messages on the voice-mail, 1 message with someone that answered on a Saturday afternoon and said no one was in the office and someone would call me on Monday (no one ever called, it's now Saturday), and used that little questionnaire on their website twice to have someone contact me. No one ever called or emailed. All I wanted was someone to come by and give me a free estimate like it says they do in their website. I finally got a hold of someone yesterday. They said it would take 3-5 hours to move a 1 bedroom apartment worth of stuff literally down the street. My friend and I moved me in here in 2 hours and that was with only a pickup truck and multiple trips. Gave me my quote upwards of $500 and that was it. I had the best moving experience of my life with this company. (John was the foreman and he was amazing -but every delivery guy on the six-person team was great.) This was a big, hectic move with some nice furniture I was nervous about, lots of heavy stuff, and a few things with cracks that I was especially nervous about making worse by moving. Also tons of kid stuff, big mirrors, an embarrassing amount of boxes/bins etc. (We are the opposite of minimalists.) These movers made it seem simple somehow. Not only did they move everything smoothly and efficiently with zero damage, they also somehow reassured me and never made me feel guilty or annoying-even when I was fretting about stuff or changing my mind about where to put stuff once we got to the new house. Basically, I was an awful customer, but they didn't make me feel bad about myself on top of doing a wonderful job. Don originally quoted us and gave us detailed information about pricing. The total price ended up being 1000 dollars less than the original quote which was great. The team worked incredibly efficiently despite being paid by the hour (so I would have thought they would have motivation to work slower.) I could not recommend this company more. This is a first class operation. We moved from a home to an apartment in addition to having furniture put in storage for a future move. The team arrived on time and worked tirelessly in the heat. The furniture for storage was all wrapped to protect the furniture and any piece that could possible get bumped was shrink wrapped. Hiring Professional Movers was the best decision ever. Outside of marrying my wife. I received two quotes from two movers and Professional was the cheapest. They also did not have ridiculous up-charges for my arcade machines and other moronic policies in regards to mirrors etc. They slightly under estimated the amount of crap I had to move and sent an extra van/truck out at no additional charge. Never in a million years did I think I would hire movers. I am so happy I did. In six hours they had me moved from Royal Oak to Brighton and we were settled in our house in a weekend! The 3 man crew showed up on time and again were very careful with all of my dads antiques, pictures and extremely heavy and ornate furniture. Despite all the narrow hallways and stairways with such inconvenient turns, none of my walls or furniture are damaged. And best of all, I'M not damaged from lifting heavy-ass furniture. I had a last-minute requirement for a furniture move. The company I usually used for my moving needs was not able to accommodate in such short notice. I reached out to Professional Movers since they were a small business in my community. It was a great experience, from the first phone call to arrange the consultation through the entire move. Don was on time for the consultation and provided a quote when promised, which was very reasonable. On moving day, I was called a couple hours before my appointment time and told that one of the movers was ill and they were getting another mover sent out, but they would be an hour later than the original appointment time. Kyle, Brad and Matt showed up and quickly, carefully, and professionally moved my furniture. Even with the later start, they had my move completed 30 minutes earlier than quoted. So moving has to be one of the most annoying and irritating things to do. One of my biggest fears/concerns was hiring a moving company and if I was going to be hiring the correct one. After all I'm sure many of you have heard some horrid stories. Well after doing a little research I decided to go with "Professional Movers" and honestly their name says it all. They came by prior to the move and basically did a walk thru and explained they were able to do as little or as much as I pleased......I'm talking taking down TV's, wrapping glass, etc. on the day of the move they came with a crew and rolled down tarps all over the house to make sure they weren't leaving a mess anywhere.
