Under one roof, the Driver Rehabilitation Center for Excellence (DRCE) will do a full driving evaluation of someone who is disabled but wants the freedom and mobility of driving restored to their life. DRCE provides a comprehensive program to evaluate whether the person is capable of driving, designs a system to get them back on the road and modifies vehicles in their state of the art shop to accommodate special needs. In the past therapists working with the disabled and vehicle modifiers adapting vehicles for the disabled worked in different silos and talked past one another. DRCE integrates the entire process. Not only does DRCE service wounded warriors and other disabled persons wishing to get back on the road, they also provide independent driver evaluations for senior citizens. In my case, my wife and I wanted to provide other family members assurance that a senior family member was still capable of driving locally to familiar locations during the day. DRCE put this senior family member through a series of mental agility, coordination and on the road evaluations then delivered a comprehensive report on this persons ability to drive. The two co-founders, Josh and Tammy, are on site you work with them during the evaluation. I'm sure many of them do not get told how much their job matters and the extra time and effort they put towards people in need really matters when no one else is listening. It matters because sometimes it can be the last string after a week of struggles. I'm gonna be okay... please always go above and beyond for others too. It doesn't happen often without a lot of stressful events and circumstances that get to you. I know we aren't always easy to work with, usually that is fear of the unknown driving that bus. I have met a lot of medical staff in my chronic illness years and the majority just try to do their job the best that they can with the tools and resources that they are given. I know that there are also just some bad staff out there and companies can't control that until they hear from their clients. I have no doubt that these guys would hear if someone needed someone to listen. They helped me overcome several challenges with my ileostomy and then helped me with a supply issue after I asked to be discharged because the insurance does not pay unless I was homebound and I am doing pretty well now thanks to the confidence they helped me find. I have been assisting my parents both of whom needed some level of care from Livinrite. The…read morenurses all have been competent but the scheduler is horrible, cannot seem to understand that patients often have competing appointments and are not at liberty to change appointments to suit the " way that Livinrite schedules." There have been several "miscommunications" that the scheduler tried to blame on my parents- one was when they sent out a nurse on a day my mother told them repeatedly over several calls that SHE HAD A DOCORS APPOINTMENT AND WPUPS NOT BE HERE. They send a nurse anyway and tries to call it a no show appointment. When I called to file a complaint, the scheduler said since it was a holiday , they could only come that day . WHAT THE HECK??? And she tried to shame my mother about not being here. Really they have caused so much stress for my poor parents it's ridiculous. They should be there to provide care not cause stress.
