We scouted around and stumbled across Premier Martial Arts over in the Southlands area while we are having Sushi at Bangkok Tokyo. We stopped in for a visit, watched some classes and met with the manager. It was all very impressive. Not only do they teach the physical aspects of martial arts but they really focus on the mental aspects such as respect, restraint, calmness of the mind, etc. We signed up before leaving. For the younger students they also teach respect for parents and elders. Our son now has a check list of things he has taken responsibility for such as cleaning his room, brushing his teeth, helping with chores and respecting his sister. Watching him learn the moves and develop mental focus over the past few months has been rewarding to us as parents. The teachers promote a positive atmosphere and keep the students motivated to work towards their next belt. Class times are very flexible for weekdays and weekends. Classes seem to be short and once they are over the next one begins. The repetitiveness of short and frequent classes seems to work better than a few long classes. They also provide many adult classes such as kick boxing, Jiu Jitsu, mixed martial arts. In this day we all need to have skills that will help us defend ourselves when the time comes.
