I was with Progressive for over a year. They were my favorite insurance company yet. They cancelled me over nonpayment of $3 because their system took my March payment as April and there was no way to override it apparently. I talked to 5 people (2 reps, 2 sups, 1 manager). I was contacted by a Broker Agent with Goosehead Insurance, he gave me a great quote for Progressive Insurance. I only wanted insurance to cover my two vehicles and home owners insurance. I was believed I was being offered assistance for affordable insurance. I was completely taken advantage of, first he lied about no other family members being added to my policy and it was. I had already been warned about Progressive having this practice but since I was currently with Progressive and had been for 3 months I accepted the quote. The he offered me a deal with my Vivint suppler to add services that was quoted to me with incorrect prices which lead to me having a $2,000+ bill. Within a month Progressive added two of my adult off spring to my policy because their mail comes to my home. Immediately I tried to contact the agent and he never returned a call. I then went to the website and reached Progressive who advised me that I must sign an exclusion waiver and send it back to them asap, in which I did. A month later they claim they mailed me a document to have the adult off spring removed from my policy which included a deadline that I did not meet because I did not receive the document or instructions to remove them another way. At that time, they increased my monthly payment and threaten to cancel my policy if I did not pay the outrageously high monthly rate which went from $182 to $747 for one month of the 6 month policy. This is called bait and switch and definitely not good business practices. When my complaint got elevated with Goosehead a manager called and let me know that he asked that the deadline be pushed back so I could send the additional paperwork that again was never provided for me. Progressive basically told me they have a right to see what and who's mail is delivered to my home and they can add those persons to my policy. After speaking with other people that have Progressive insurance, I'm told this is a practice they have done and gotten away with for years. This is a travesty, don't deal with these people and this insurance company. This is evil practices and the Federal Trade Commissions and BBB should stop these practices. read more

We have Progressive renters insurance but I'm anticipating the day that our lease is up to end our policy with them. I cannot stomach putting money in the pocket of the very company who has stolen (indirectly due to deception) from us. In 2021, I was injured in an auto accident by a Progressive policy holder. I still experience pain 3 1/2 years later. I learned that insurance companies are protected by legislators. What does that mean? If you file a lawsuit against the defendant, the jurors are under the impression that the plaintiff is suing the defendant for their actual assets. But the plaintiff is actually suing the insurance company that the defendant has a policy with. So, the jurors reward or don't reward at all based on deception and ignorance. In most cases, leaving the plaintiff with pain and suffering without any true justice. We the people need to demand legislation change this law to protect citizens instead of protecting insurance companies. And as if it wasn't bad enough... the lawyer (Kenya) that works for progressive and represented the progressive policy holder (defendant) had a smirk on her face during the verdict. No fault was put on me for this accident as I was stopped at a red light. But I was awarded an amount based on lies and she thought it was funny. Rejoicing over the pain of another. WICKED! Oh and she painted this picture as if I was no longer getting treatment because I wasn't really in pain anymore. But I actually wasn't getting treatment because the insurance company wasn't going to keep paying for my medical bills. And I had lost my job due to this accident/injury. So, how am I supposed to continue treatment with no funds?! If this was just a money grab like she tried to paint this to be... WHY DIDN'T I FILE A LAWSUIT IN 2017 WHEN I WAS HIT BY A PROGRESSIVE POLICY HOLDER? ESPECIALLY WHEN THE DAMAGES WERE VISIBLY WORSE AND THAT CAR WAS TOTALED. In 2017, I was only hit (not injured) in an auto accident by a Progressive Policy holder. The other individual admitted fault and was given a ticket. But originally Progressive was still refusing to pay the car off until we reached out to the CEO and provided evidence of the lies we were told throughout the process. I never filed a lawsuit for this (2017) accident because I wasn't injured but I at least expected them to make things right as far as our vehicle. Oh and for context. I was rear ended in 2021. The front of our car was hit in 2017. Which further proves I didn't file a lawsuit because I wasn't injured. My current injury is a disc. There's no way my disc became injured in 2017 because the front of the car was hit. Not the back. I have MRI, X-rays, etc of my disc and had a Dr testify of permanent damage yet they still tried to paint this picture that there's no way I'm still in pain. For the 2017 accident, it took an extremely long email to the CEO with evidence provided to finally get them to make things right. Which I at least appreciate them for finally doing so. See, this is my second time being in a car accident with a Progressive policy holder and they have not done right by me. There is no way I will continue to put money in their pockets for renters insurance. They do not care about people. Just greed. I'm sharing my story in hopes that no one else goes through this. But if you do, you're at least informed about the deception/concealment. These companies don't care about us. They only care about the money they make off of us.
