I've had this company for 4 years and it was really because they had the cheapest premium when I first got my house. After that every year it went up, which I hear can be natural for insurance. I had to file a claim with them and I don't know if the company name changed or they have a different claims Dept but I had to file it with ASI. In order to receive my claims check, I had to update my mailing address since I moved and ASI could not update it even though they are the ones who would be sending me my check. ASI transfered me to TWG and I got hung up on after on hold for 5 minutes. I emailed Twg and explained the situation, and someone called me within 8 hours to help me out. They told me they had my correct mailing address but if I want to make sure I get the claims check to the right place then I'll need to call back and confirm with ASI on when they sent the check. This is by far the worst insurance agency I have ever dealt with in my entire life. To say they did absolutely nothing for me when they were my agent is an understatement. Additionally they offered horrible advice that in the long run ended up costing me big time on a hail damage claim I had on the roof of my house. Moving here from another state I had never been faced with these oddball clauses about wind and hail special "deductibles" based on the value of your home. 2 percent to be exact, which quite frankly is ridiculous. But on top of it, to have your insurance company who has the value of your home, versus the value of your total property, write a home owners policy that includes the land add insult to injury. I am quite frankly surprised that Safeco would even allow them to write a policy like this since even in the case of catastrophic damage, would never have delivered on the full value of the policy unless the land itself were sucked into a big hole in the ground. Then I'm sure there would have been some earthquake exclusion that would have voided the whole thing. I have since switched my homeowners policy to Met Life which was a direct purchase thru a buying agreement with the corporation I work for and have done a better job talking to someone on line directly than when I had this lousy agency "working for me".... Also they have these young men who are actually quite glib and goofy handling their policies. I am reminded of how much I dislike these people after I just got a call from someone at their office today interrupting me in the middle of my business day to talk about getting me back as a client. He says he has some great rates to discuss with me.... REALLY? CAN I WASTE MORE OF MY TIME AND MONEY ON YOU? I THINK NOT!!!! read more

I have been a TWG customer for a while. I have my primary residence and my rental home insured with them. However I get a letter from them yesterday stating they will not renew my primary residence because I have a metal panel roof rather than a metal shingle roof. This seems to be a company policy. So now I had to buy home insurance elsewhere. Wonder why they didnt tell me about this company policy when I first hired them. I've had my home insured with them for a couple of years. What happened to the good old days when a human being would call you on the phone and tell you why they no longer accept metal panel roofs. Just sent me a cold letter. Guess they have too many customers to give anyone some one on one individual attention. Guess it's time to give my rental home insurance to someone else. read more

When I first got this company I thought they were pretty good. They got me an out-of-state policy on some rental property with very little hassle. Then the fun began. The company they put me with, Wellington, asked me to do some repairs. Random stuff: trim branches off the roof, fix some fascia, and get rid of some high weeds in the back. I called and asked if they could extend the two week deadline because it was during the 4th of July and my handy man was out-of-town. They said, "No!" The agent explained that they would send out a cancellation letter and I would have 30 days to get the work done before it cancelled. As soon as my guy was back, some work was done. I let the handyman decide how to determine what fascia needed to be repaired as Wellington had not supplied any photos or description. When the work was complete, I mailed back the form. There was no mention on the form about photos. My policy was cancelled today. Why? Because I did not send photos of the completed work. When I called I was informed that they sent a request for photos via email. Why wasn't the request for photos with the original letter? Was this just an afterthought? Why wasn't I sent photos of what they wanted repaired? Seemed a little one-sided to me. Hey consumer, send me your money and do all the leg work too while I sit in my office and take money from you that you will never see again. Just another good example of companies that take advantage of consumers and offer no real value. So, now I get to go through the shopping for insurance procedure again where 10 companies will beg for my business...then what? Another TWG? read more

I called TWG and they rechecked my rates. Said they could save me $60 a month by cancelling my bundled home/auto insurance and writing me two separate policies with other companies. One month later the new home insurance that we got written from them DROPPED us because of a German Shepherd we have had since we moved into our home 5 yrs ago. We cannot get our old policy and face paying about $1000 more per year for the same policy we had for three years prior. TWG made me cry today. read more

Be careful dealing with TWG. VERY careful. I was shopping for quotes and the agent, Ivan Ghorbanzadeh from the Houston office, explained that he does not low-ball, then come back with a higher actual number, blah blah. After he asked me to make a quick decision, I responded that I do not make quick decisions in areas like this, and would think it over. Little did I know that TWG and Ivan had already made a decision. 4 days after my last call with him, I received a large package from Homeowners of America Insurance co. It was a completed policy, stating that my bank had been contacted and everything was effective and in play. It started out with "Thank you for selecting Homeowners America!" Keep in mind, I only called TWG and Ivan for a quote, and they (TWG) turned it to HOA without my approval, knowledge, or details of escrow, bank accounts, etc. Well, i called the bank the next day, and went through a bunch of hoops to get this taken care of. The bank had issued a check (would have come out of my escrow account) and everything was active. All done without MY signature, authorization, nothing. The bank finally got the insurance company on the phone. Not one bit of responsibility was taken by HOA, and I and my wife were quite stressed at what had happened. Bottom line, HOA would not divulge who had issued the policy, and on what merits it was issued, or whether or not the policy was going to be canceled and check returned. I sent emails to their Customer Service and demanded a cancellation of the policy, which I never had ANYTHING to do with. Be aware, these people TWG, Ivan and his band of cohort shisters will get your info, write a policy and take money from you all without you even saying 'OK', let alone 'Yes'. read more

excellent service. i deliver mail for the usps. most auto ins companies will not insure the mail delivery vehicle, they all think it needs to be on a commercial policy. however, gmac is endorsed by the NRLCA, and gives a substantial discount. twg is the local rep for gmac. i also have our homeowners policy thru twg. recently, we had massive hail damage, one car, and our home. twg was very helpful in getting our claims processed in a timely manner. i have recommended twg to other workers, and at least 2 of them are now with twg, and they have told me that they are very happy read more

I found TWG while looking for quotes when my previous premium went up. At first I thought I had found a place where I would get questions answered and good customer service. I started the policy in April, a couple of months later I received notice that an inspector went to my property to look at it, but was unable to go in due to it was in a "gated community", and no one called me to schedule this, I LIVE IN THE MIDDLE OF NO WHERE!!!!!!!! I called my agent who never answered the phone so I ended up speaking with a customer rep. who said he was going to note my account and someone will get back to me NO ONE did!! a few weeks later I received a letter informing me that my policy was going to be cancel due to they were not able to do the inspection when I called my agent again no answer and I spoke with a customer rep, she said that they could send another inspector but it looked like the policy was going to be canceled anyways due to the other structures in my property (my two sheds) which was disclosed from the beginning and she said that they could just let it cancel and shop around for other companies..
