I asked for a refund and cancellation last week after seeing they charged two of my banks on separate days and got over $400 out of me! My original policy was only $203.43. So I got heated and called Thursday, got no help. Then I called them again on Friday the 22nd to get my refund for at least one of those charges and cancel with them because they've been nothing but problems. Then they asked for bank statements! Fine. I did my customer duty and called both banks. Both banks were actually helpful and faxed both statements to Progressive's research/finance team with my policy numbers included. I got all the information settled and sent to them. I was told they would contact me before Friday. NOTHING. So I called Progressive again and got a rude-ass customer representative. She was no help at all when I asked why I hadn't gotten my refunds or even a call back. Then she tells me their research department had no attachments or records for my request! I'm pissed. I did everything right and then got told they couldn't refund anything. I've been through hoops and circles with them. Then they had the audacity to ask for more proof AGAIN. I told her, really?! So I can wait another week while y'all charge me for another month? Hell no. I told her to cancel the damn policy and I'll call my banks again. I want my money back. So I called both banks once again, and both have records regarding all of this. They're now disputing the charges for me. So now it's up to Progressive. I'm so done. Poor behavior, terrible service, zero communication, and I honestly feel like I've had to fight for my own money every step of the way. Now I'm out over $400 and still waiting for answers. My advice? Don't use them. My experience has been an absolute nightmare, and the way this was handled made me feel like I was being scammed out of my own money. Tried to get a quote online. Was much lower than my current insurance, so I saved the quote and the next day cancelled my current insurance. When I went to buy the quote, right before the payment step, they suddenly do this history check through a third party and my premium went up $400 for a couple roadside assistance claims that they categorized as "not at fault accidents". WTF?! They leave that part until right before you pay to try and suck you in with a false premium. I will never buy from a company that uses underhanded methods like this. read more

I do not have Progressive nor would I recommend. We had a car totaled by a Progressive client and their claims agent took 4 months to complete the claim. Very little communication with us about the status of the claim. I received less money than what the claims adjuster had stated. When, after being without a vehicle for 4 months, the claims adjuster calls and says they have a payment agreement which I agreed to. Claims adjuster makes me an appointment to pick up a check which they FORGOT to issue. I do not recommend Progressive due to lack of courtesy and communication. If I could give 0 stars I would horrible service. Claims take forever so you will be carless because full coverage doesn't cover a rental. They prices go up every couple of months of course and to get in contact with them forget it. It is an endless game of phone tag. People need to start pushing back against companies like this. There is no reason for a credit check to be ran for a homeowners policy quote. If you pay the annual premium, why would it matter if you have good or bad credit? The lady I talked with was rude as well. BTW, I have excellent credit and zero debt. Quit falling for these companies gimmicks. Your credit doesn't affect the rate of your insurance. Neither Allstate or Foremost require unnecessary information. I have sent emails to the CEO and she still hasn't reached out to me. my money is good enough for them but when I need my insurance they gave me the finger I even told them that while I was driving on the freeway my car started to over heat and smoke. This is a kind of service center for insurance claims. The place is in a great location, the waiting area rivals most car dealership amenities, friendly staff, and if you don't want to deal with a body shop, they'll take care of that too. We had a comforting experience after being hit, several months ago, the car looked wonderful again, felt like new. This time a good deal of hail damage has brought us back. The only "dings" we found on this visit are with the appointment scheduling. My appointments were made by phone for Wednesday for two cars with different appointment times. The confirmation email came back with Thursday's date. I called the only available number, and after a few transfers I am talking with a person who says that the confirmation email was wrong, and I was right, although I never got the new confirmation. At the appointments one was immediately referenced, the other was not found. This was confusing and inconvenient. The 2nd vehicle was worked in anyway. They delayed fixing and scheduling a time as far out as they could, and when I finally got into shop they would only pay for crappy aftermarket parts, thank goodness my body shop helped put oem back on the vehicle. Darren of the San Antoni, TX office impersonated me. To file a false van Claim in an attempt to avoid paying a legitimate vandalism claim with Progressive. When confronted abiut filing the fraudulent claim. Darren stated he was only attempting to ver cover dates with my previous insurance company. When asked why he didn't simply contact the insurance company directly. He lied claiming the company was closed and he wasn't able to reach them. Which was a blatant lie to validate his claim of ignoranc. So he could avoid the ethical and legal ramifications of filing a false claim. In order to collection a payout. The insurer in question is a 24/7 company. Just to prove to me that they were being truthful. The insurer contacted Darren while I was on the phone. He declined and didn't return any if their three attempts to reach him. His sole goal was to file a claim in my name with my previous insurer in hopes they would pay it. So Progressive wouldn't have to pay out on the legitimate claim. if he truly wanted to verify coverage date he could have contacted me. Or ordered a "Loss Run Report". We've carried progressive for many years and thankfully had never needed to file a claim until recently. It's been the worst experience EVER!! The staff at this location was not helpful and somewhat rude and cocky to say the least. The person assigned to our claim didn't seem to be fully trained. Unfortunate we were hit by an uninsured driver who has also filed bankruptcy so we won't get crap from her. So it's going under our uninsured drivers coverage. There are 3 problems here. 1. The way they figured how much to pay on our vehicle since it was considered totaled wasn't calculated correctly. 2. The "new" claims adjuster had my husband sign a document which she didn't explain properly since their meeting was about PIP and medical coverage. 3. They're wanting our medical insurance from our employer to take over the medical claim parts of this issue. After emailing the CEO we receive a call from a "claims supervisor" who was extremely rude and unprofessional!!! Not once but twice saying something was said or done when it wasn't. Worst Insurance I've had!! I just paid my " PUNISHMENT CANCELLATION FEE" of $52.46 For Two years I NEVER made a claim. Paid ON TIME every month. But I Stiil got screwed. They started off good them my rates kept going up. So when I called they told me " Texas Law" required that Insurances can raise rates due to "high risk areas". Hmmm.... so I guess my address is considered "Ghetto" to Progressive Insurance?? Total Discrimination!! Now I cancelled and they tell me I still OWE them!! After making Payments on Time every month!! My customer service experience was alright everything went quick and smooth until i got my car back. They did not fix my center console that i specifically asked to get fix/clean. All they had to do was clean the transmission panel. But they took it apart but didnt clean it and thhey didnt even put it back properly. At that point they wanted the rental car returned. this put me in a dilemma because i Had not looked for a replacement car. Progressive supposedly paid off the car I wrecked in full. I am getting letters from JP Morgan billing me. They state that I owe over $1,400. This was supposed to case closed at this point. I can not get anyone on or off the team to help rectify the situation. It's so unprofessional for y'all to try to wash yalls hands in this situation and me being stuck with my car not being able to drive because it's not drivable and him driving the streets. Roadside assistance is terrible! Called in at 11:00am and paid xtra because I was over 15 mile tow limit. Was contacted by 2 separate towing co. To pay for xtra miles. Told them I already paid progressive rep. Got 5 text messages that different towing co. Were arriving anywhere from 20min to 90min.
