My sprinkler system is very old and so I was not surprised when I received a notice from the water department that I had a leak somewhere in my irrigation system. I called Progressive with whom I have delt with for years and have been very pleased. Their technician, Joe, came out and after much investigation found the leak to be four feet under ground and coming from a broken main line. I appreciated that Joe took his time to be very thorough with the repair and then left my garden area as neat as it was before. The Communications with this company is non existent. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. They just keep giving you the runaround. I agreed to have an irrigation system installed. I had to give them half the money before they would schedule the installation. Fair enough. They call me with a date. I had to take care of the call to Miss Diggs to locate all gas and water lines before the installation. The date was set, but the day before the office called me and asked if it was alright if the installation could take place several hours earlier because of the heat. I agreed. The next day I was home the entire day and not only did they not show up to install, they never called me to apologize. I did call the office and asked a woman who said was in charge of my account. She said because of the heat they have to reschedule. I told her that would have been nice to know before I lost a full day. She said she would call me back to reschedule, she never called and 15 days later I'm still waiting. I called the office every day where no body answered the phone and my messages all went to voicemail. Not one of those messages were ever returned. Today I made another call that went to voicemail as I went to the business 10 minutes later. I got nothing but excuses and the runaround from everyone. The phones were down, we can't get reliable help, the main guy that does our installs has been puking all week, really????? I demanded my money back as the owner came out of his office to give us some more excuses. I would never deal with this unscrupulous company, ever. I suggest anyone who thinks about hiring them to really do your homework first. read more

I have been using Progressive Irrigation to open and close my sprinklers for more than five years. Last year the price for my 6 zones was $75.00. This year I was charged $136.00. I find this increase to be excessive and I will not be using Progressive in the future. read more

Progressive came out to do sprinkler system start up on a home I'm renting. They quoted me $79 plus parts and labor on parts. I was working so my mom let the service techs in. They went up and down my stairs inside my house and got the carpet on the stairs filthy. The techs were there about an hour and 15 mins and could not get the sprinklers running. They told my mom they needed to bring in an electrician because they could not figure out how to repair the system. I received a bill for $550.00! I have never paid the much for a sprinkler start up and a few general repairs and still have it not work! I offered them $250, I felt that was more than fair. I explained my son was battling cancer and a $550 bill was more than I could afford. They didn't care, they put a lien on a home I didn't even own. This is a company that rips people off! read more

They just bought out Forever Green. They scheduled to open the sprinklers & charge $75, but it took them longer, even though nothing was broken. They then charged $2.15 per MINUTE additional so the final cost was $95.00. They, at no point, said that the opening fee wasn't a flat cost + more if something was broken. Then, instead of billing, they wanted payment on the spot - ok, that's the way they do it. But, then I wanted to charge it, they said I would have to pay an additional $2.95 for the pleasure !!!!??? Who does this besides the government? I was in business for 27 yrs & cards fees are the cost of doing business. If their goal is to lose long-time customers, they have succeeded. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY The start up fee has more than tripled than it was last year! and when I asked why they stated they made a mistake in 2017. I also asked that my sprinklers be turned on first thing in the morning and they were set for 8:30 PM. Being on a lake, this is when everyone is outside. I have asked 5 times to fix the timing and I would pay my bill in full! The owner called yelling that if I don't pay today he is turning my account over to his lawyer. Shake you down for money before they do a walk thru with you to be sure they did the work and prior to getting copy of invoice, charge you for using credit card without letting you know. Awful experience! Told scheduler I had a problem with one of my valves. I knew the number of the valve that needed to be replaced. The service guys replaced other valves that they said were bad, but never replaced the one that was bad in the first place. They ran out of valves to replace the first valve I needed to be replaced. They had to leave after three hours of suspect work and told me I needed to schedule another appointment to come back and fix the rest. I told them don't bother. You don't pay for bad work twice. I called the office and told them I would pay for the service call and the parts, but not the bad labor. I was told they would credit me $100 to come back out and finish the job. The credit would not cover an hour of labor. Would never recommend this company! Stay away! read more

I hired Progressive each spring and fall for multiple years and had the same excellent service tech. This spring two new guys came to make repairs. They cut my invisible fence wire--which was visible, the alarm sounded and they left without telling me. I immediately called the office and was told someone would call me back. The repair to my invisible fence was $160. I have left repeated messages and no one bothers to call me back. Extremely disappointed in their lack of care and service. read more

Progressive irrigation is the worst irrigation company I have ever used!!! I was overcharged, my property was stolen and they left the water running overnight. It is absolutely ridiculous that they charge $2/minute, yes per 1 minute, and they charge extra when you pay with a credit card. What kind of reputable company does that? When I called the company to complain I was told that my brand new hose nozzle was taken "by accident" and that the water was left running "by accident" as well. Normally dewinterizing a sprinkler system is a 2 man job, this time only 1 tech came out so of course everything took twice as long. In addition, when I asked why the arrival time the tech had and that I had didn't match, I was told that he was outside for an extra 30 minutes surveying my property. First, he had no right being on my property without my consent, and second, he could have been there for 2 minutes but when you are charged BY THE MINUTE, anything goes. Do yourself a favor and do not use this company, the techs are bad, the customer service is nonexistent, and they will steal your things...and then overcharge you for it. read more

Beware! I have use them several times in the past two years. Though they were always prompt and courteous their prices are inconsistent and totally out of line. They charged me $362 to replace 4 sprinkler heads without telling me up front that they were going to charge me $2 per minute after the first half hour. My experience with Progressive Irrigation was a disaster. I contracted them to fix a broken fitting in my sprinkler system and a single non-working sprinkler zone. I was given an appointment window of 4-6 p.m. and they showed up at 7:20. They fixed the broken fitting, claimed they fixed the non-working zone, and also said they replaced a sprinkler head that shot up in the air when they cycled the system. However they caused a zone that had previously been functioning normally to remain stuck open, meaning it runs non-stop if water is being supplied to the system even if the system isn't programmed to be running. They hadn't solved that problem by the time it was getting dark at 9:20 and the technician said that a follow up visit would be scheduled to correct that problem. The next time I ran my sprinkler system I found that the non-working zone still wasn't working, and the replaced sprinkler head shot up in the air. I found that the threads were stripped and it was unusable. The next communication I received from Progressive was a bill a month later that included more labor hours than the technicians were present at my house, two replaced valves, one sprinkler head and one fitting. When I didn't pay the bill I received a phone call from someone at Progressive who said, "Here's what you're going to do. You're going to pay this bill by 5:00 or I'm going to put a lien on your property." When I explained that I wasn't going to pay for work that wasn't completed, I was called an idiot and a f**kface and hung up on. Afterward via email I was accused by the owner, Jim Simpkins, of being "one of those people who likes to take advantage of honest business owners by trying to get out of paying for services provided." He also said it was my fault for not letting them know there was another problem (the zone stuck on) even though "Technician's Note: Need to return. Zone 5 is stuck on" was on the invoice! Their performance was poor, the owner's behavior afterward has been abysmal, and my sprinkler system is now in worse shape than before Progressive worked on it. I would caution anyone against using this company. read more

I have been using these guys for a few years and every year i say to myself "never again" they charge a crazy amount for basic things.. I just used them again for my spring startup. they only sent one guy which is fine except they charge 2+$ a minute!!!! if there were two people it would have been the same price. basically 125$ an hour is what i got charged for the one guy.. it took 2 hours and 34 minutes.. they had to clean out a few of the heads and there was a leak in the main line.. they charged me 95$ for a few plastic fittings (this is the lake hose to the pump that was sitting in my yard) that would cost 5$ at HD.. they said they use "professional grade" so thats why it was 95$... last year they had to add a float to my main line. they used one piece of 2 1/2" PVC and 4 elbows.. charged me almost 300$ in parts.. keep in mind, they did all of this with out giving me a quote in advance.. I would have refused if I had known.. This year they charged me almost 450$ for startup and the only parts were a few fittings.. CRAZY expensive.. and no amount of talking to them would get them to realize this.. customer service is terrible.. if the cost is going to be more than the 125$ cost then TELL ME FIRST so I can approve.. they never do.. I will NEVER use these guys again for sprinklers.. read more
