I have obtained my CDL A with hazmat endorsement through the Progressive. I was in the 200h program that also comes with the PTDI certificate. Some may argue that this is worthless but it does come along the way when there are 2 fresh students one with and one without the certificate. The great thing about Progressive is their instructors; those guys are passionate professionals who spent years driving the 18 wheelers. My class had 15 people tested and only 1 did not pass the road. So if you really look at the amount of people that this school is training every week then you would understand why certain few are not happy, those negative comments are exaggerated to say the least. Here is my list of pros: -Great instructors -Decent equipment -State examiners come to their location, you are testing on their equipment and their parking lot where you learn the skills. It is more convenient on that stressful day. -You will meet great folks there Cons: -need more room to anticipate their success and growth. -some vending machines for the lunch room would come along the way. . Conclusion is if you really want to learn about the trucking and the industry, Progressive is the one that will help you not only with obtaining the CDL or even finding a job but also will shine some light on the trucking business in general. Stick to the program, be humble and go with the process. For those that just want to get their CDL the "easy way" do it yourself or go elsewhere. So, I have graduated from Progressive as of yesterday. It was quite the journey I must say. The school and curriculum are actually spot on. Regardless of what the other negative posts have said before me. The school is not a CDL charity, just handing out CDLs. You do actually have to study and practice in order to graduate. As for the instruction in the classroom, Gabriel is very caring and professional. He is always attentive to the students (which is not easy. There are a lot of students some days.) but he kept up by utilizing good classroom structure and discipline. A big thank you to Gabe. He made things a lot easier in all aspects of my training. The guys out in the training yard and over the road instructors were very informative and helpful when ever I needed them to be. Not to mention supportive. Again, yes there are big classes, but I never felt uncared for, or pushed away. Lastly I would like to say thank you to Jeana (the owner) for sticking by my side and making sure I succeeded. Yes, she is actually in close contact with the students. Her open door policy was invaluable. Progressive is a good school. As long as you apply yourself and hold up your end of the bargain. This is the best school hands down. I've had a short stay at two other schools. I can tell you I'm so glad I picked Progressive. Mr. Cooper was absolutely the best player on their team. Mr. Cooper stopped whatever he was doing to help anyone who asked. He offered the best advice when it came to helping achieve my maneuvers. I ran into some obstacles and he promised me : he will see me to the finish line : I graduated today : One & Done !!!!!! 12-18-23. Thank you, Mr. Cooper you are the best. I received my CDL A license at Progressive in 2016 and it was an amazing experience! They are professionals who are organized and set you up for success. I came in and they answered all my questions and showed me around the Cicero campus. I was able to jump inside a truck to see how it felt to be behind the wheel of an 18 wheeler. They did not push me to enroll but helped guide me to make the write decision. After visiting several schools I immediately decided Progressive was the best choice for me. It is an accredited school which really got my attention and completing a certified program helped me obtain a job with US Xpress! The staff and instructors really care... Progressive had the tools, equipment and knowledge to set me up for success. When I first came to the school, I did not have any experience. So I was really nervous the first time I started driving. Through my 8 weeks here, the knowledge that I have learned and driving skills I learned has been very rewarding. I have astounded myself on what I now know. The instructors that I had were all very knowledgeable on what they were teaching. They were enthusiastic and helped me to enjoy what I was doing. The skills that I now have would not have been easily attained if I had not chose to attend Progressive. Recent graduate from progressive , and i have to say they did what they had to! I got my clasd A CDL thanks to the school, only a few instructors will help you out though! What i like about the school is that they give you job placement for life! One thing i do recomend is to SAVE all your exams ane payment receipts! They will try to say they you owe money or that you have incomplete test! Do yourself a favor and keep track of it all because they are not so good at that!. Great central location, old trucks and rickety but useful. Staff is mostly great with minor exceptions. Classroom can get noisy but instructors hold their own against any unruly students. No greater experience than completing and knowing your cdl is waiting at the dmv. Mario, Ismael and Gabriel are great instructors, and Jessica is great at administering the local(cicero). Owner needs to improve facilities and facilitate instructors/admin jobs along with treating them properly. Other than that perfect stepping stone for careers. read more

When I started progressive I had no experience driving anything besides a car, and I knew nothing about tractor trailers and its parts. Progressive gave me all the tools and practice I needed to get my CDL license and start my career as a truck driver. by far the best school in the city. they have great instructors that will push you. to be honest more like drill instructors. when I first stared I was so terrified of driving the big semi, but now it's nothing at all. i considered other schools but this school is by far the best. the staff in the office are a bunch of great humans. they are friendly and willing to help. the upper management is great along with the owner.. this school is run almost like a military camp. that what worked for me. read more

Overall pretty good school I have nothing to complain about it really saw nothing wrong, you'll find things that really don't agree with but it all will make sense as you go. If you have questions or concerns just ask a member of the staff there really friendly and will guide you through it. If I were to start over and choose a school again, I would choose progressive Truck diving school. read more
