Whooooooa. First off, if you knew what shape I was in before you'd understand why I'm wholly completely loyal to Dr Robinson and his incredible well oiled team! I should have written this review months ago but today was the Ah-ha moment. I called around several chiros around my area for an urgent appointment , I was in desperate need of a chiropractor. I had been at that time battling post herpetic neuralgia from shingles for about a year and a half with PT medical massages injections and oral meds with no improvement. I was at the point where the pain was making me incredibly depressed and I was going on a trip where I would had to sit on a plane for a long time so I wanted to get adjusted before my trip. I finally found this office that had an opening and I came in had an evaluation and it was adjusted that day. I felt a lot better immediately unlike my other visits with other Chiropractor's. Dr. Robinson's office had warned that my recovery might take up to a year but honestly I felt 100% by month 4. Essentially zero pain from the post herpetic neuralgia. It wasn't until today that I realized after a maintenance medical massage that this new discomfort I have been feeling, was due to an upper rib being unaligned. My LMT had tried to correct it, but said that I might need a chiropractor because she believed that a rib was stuck. Immediately after my massage appointment, I called Dr. Robinson's office and he was able to squeeze me in. I am so eternally grateful because as soon as I came in and showed him what was hurting and what made it hurt - he diagnosed it and got everything back in order. I got off the table and try to replicate the pain and it was still there a little bit, Dr. Robinson had mentioned that it might still be a little bit sore especially because it had just been worked on by the LMT, but wanted to make sure that everything was back in place so I got back on the table and after that second adjustment I was instantly able to breathe better more deeply, and there's absolutely no pain. I am so thankful I found the office. The entire staff (Dr. Hudson, Brandy, Dana) are immensely, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I highly recommend coming here if you have any pains that have anything to do with alignment. OHHHH and Dr Hudson is the baby whisperer for infant, toddler, and children! She offers chiro care for children! She's amazing! I have not brought in my own children (didn't think they needed it but after reading how it could help them I think I will!) but have seen her with her clients and she's honestly so gentle and kind and has the BEST energy! I was in town for business and had a serious back issue in the morning before my flight. Dr Robinson fit me in and worked to get me adjusted. He spent a good amount of time on me and explained things thoroughly since I am not a regular chiropractic patient. The online check-in process was great so I didn't have to spend so much time in the office filling out paperwork. Highly recommend. This ain't your everyday spa masseuse. No. Not at all. I have visited numerousn LMT's in the Portland area and have finally found one that knows what the heck she is doing. From spa relaxation massages, where some timid girl or guy gently pokes and prods me, to a deep tissue massage that left me in pain, the majority of masseuses I visit never seem to know what to do with a big, tall, barrel-chested and always stressed out guy like myself. Then I found Lisa. Lisa works out of the Pro Health Chiropractic space up on Terwilliger, and that fits her style of massage like a glove. Lisa gets in deep and knows exactly how to stretch your limbs in order to get those inner muscles loosened up. It's like a combination of an adjustment and a massage (but no actual chiropracting takes place unless you visit the good Dr. Robinson next door). While some people prefer a light massage that only hits the muscles closest to the skin, I don't so much. I believe that most external tension generally results from stiffness and tension in those deep internal muscles, the ones that form the pulley system that keeps your body sitting and standing upright. To get truly loosened up takes someone getting in there and working those deep muscles. That is exactly what Lisa Hull does. I always show up stiff as a board, with my back and calf muscles tied up in knots. After an hour on her table, I leave in mostly liquid/elastic form. It's as much "therapy" as it is "massage". It's good. She is ver conscious to ask how tough I want her to be on me, which I appreciate. Wow... well . . . WOW! I came for the great thing of a complimentary first session ($125 Value) I have to be a cheerleader for Dr. Jeff. I really was impressed, first of all, with his lovely manner ~ he's a sort of gentle soul that listens with depth as you do your intake information. I really felt heard. He works on athletes - that had a HUGE appeal for me. If he can help cure them and bring them to balance, then I figure my challenges he can help me solve. I was RIGHT! This was one of the best chiropractic experiences I've ever had. I am really fussy about chiropractors. I don't want just a standard bone-cruncher. I don't want someone who just does work that doesn't move my spine. I've had both, neither really work for me. What I knew I wanted was a chiropractor with a holistic approach, that included more, with more tools on their belt. Dr. Jeff Robinson was the perfect match. I came for a chronic six month pain in my left hip that was getting triggered every time I did athletics even mild ones like walking. I was in pretty severe pain from sitting and getting up and down, which I have to do for my job. Dr. Jeff's introduction of Muscle Activation Therapy which I had heard of having good success with my coaching clients - really was astounding. ALL the points that related to the muscle problem he showed me on screen - I was having other problems with. The treatment of using pressure on those points I found already relieving pain a few hours later. The amazing part was how my muscles responded moments after he activated them, they were stronger. It wasn't about "working out to make them stronger" - it was about awakening the neurology?! Fascinating. As a Master of Neuro-Linguistics it totally makes sense to me. I felt like Dr. Jeff started with a bang and ended with a whimper. Dealing with my chronic, extensive back and hip problems, he had lots of ideas and treatment when we started. Dr. Jeff Robinson is among a highly differentiated group of elite healers. I am extremely active and have experienced numerous forms of bodywork all over the world. Jeff's AMIT (amitmethod.com) practice is top notch. The generic forms of muscle activation that I have experienced feel similar at treatment time, but many of the activated muscles shut down again within 48 hours after the treatment. Like the other top AMIT practitioners, when Jeff activates muscles they stay activated. The immediate value of fully activated muscles includes pain free structural stability and can only be truly appreciated by experiencing it. Dr. Jeff is an incredible person who's daily goal seems to be helping others get more in tune with their patterns which bring imbalance to their lives. These imbalances can be brought to ones attention through pain, feelings of blocked energy, tiredness, or just feeling off kilter, amongst other issues. Jeff is a wonderful chiropractor because he understands that correcting the imbalance in the individual can bring us back to life, so to speak. We can feel as though our light has been turned back on and can realize what we need to change negative habits to be in balance with our bodies/mind. I've been coming here since the start of 2018. My original treatment plan was 3x a week for 3 months. I had an old basketball shoulder injury that Dr Robinson has helped me with. I was pessimistic about the treatment at first, but i have come to truly value my visits. At the worst of it i couldn't sleep on my side, i couldn't reach for anything in the back seat of my car, and sometimes i even struggled putting on/taking off my button up shirts. Dr. Robinson is a wizard, and the first time you see him using AMIT, it may seem like he literally is. Words are not adequate to describe his application of this technique and the resulting benefits. I have tried repeatedly to describe it to friends and family with mixed success because it is a type of treatment that one must receive in order to appreciate. Bear in mind that he is 1 of 2 medical professionals in ALL of Oregon who knows AMIT. I recommend AMITmethod.com for those who wish to know more on this technique, specifically the testimonials page toward the bottom. Doc Robinson learned AMIT from Dr. Buhler, the owner of this site. I have seen Dr. Robinson multiple times in the last year and have been happy with the experience each time. He is definitely not the kind of chiropractor that will recommend a high number of visits over a prescribed number of weeks in order to generate revenue. He genuinely cares about your health and the results of his treatments. That being said, 1-2 treatments using AMIT will not magically resolve everything, although I was amazed at the results in just one visit. I am getting a bit older (nearly 49), but have remained very active in multiple sports, and have thus experienced new injuries, and aggravated old ones. I also have cumulative trauma in both wrists and fore-arms due to heavy computer work. Dr. Robinson has treated and dramatically improved problems I have had with my left knee, right hip, severely injured right ankle (fastest healing ankle injury I have experienced), and both wrists/forearms. I once visited another chiro in town, I guess it went OK, not sure... I've always been kind of skeptic. One night I was at friends for dinner and was having an incredibly acute, excruciating pain, little did I know I was going through a very painful miscarriage. Dr. Robinson happened to be there and offered to help. He was extremely gentle and I truly don't know what he did but it was like a miracle, three minutes later I swear the pain was gone, I couldn't believe it. Since then I became a devoted believer of his soft techniques that are intended for your body to heal itself. I do not understand much about it but I do know IT WORKS!
