A year after I was still struggling with pain management and my doctor recommended Pilates. To be perfectly honest, I had no clue what Pilates entailed or what to even expect. Risa was incredibly patient with my beginner level skills (which, really, were no skills at all). Since then I have been doing the private sessions regularly for over a year and it has been a life changer! She is mindful of my weaknesses so she tailors the exercises to really focus on strengthening those areas. Again, I recommend!! They offer private and duet sessions and also have mat classes. Things to be aware of: 1)it's a small studio, and there might be private therapeutic sessions on the two larger/more complex reformers in the back right. 2) They don't have a lot of extra space for (your) stuff, just small cubbies in the studio-one for each member (don't bring too much stuff, and try and make sure you have a smaller bag--shoes and umbrellas go outside the entrance/door) 3) they do TRX classes as well (looking forward to trying one of those)! 4) Cait hosts a running club in Hoboken (see Athleta's insta or DM her for timing-it's usually on the Bum Pilates insta stories) 5) walk, lyft or lime-parking is REALLY challenging since it's right by the path Definitely worth a try if you've done Pilates (and even if you haven't).
