A year after I was still struggling with pain management and my doctor recommended Pilates. To be perfectly honest, I had no clue what Pilates entailed or what to even expect. Risa was incredibly patient with my beginner level skills (which, really, were no skills at all). Since then I have been doing the private sessions regularly for over a year and it has been a life changer! She is mindful of my weaknesses so she tailors the exercises to really focus on strengthening those areas. Again, I recommend!! They offer private and duet sessions and also have mat classes. The tower and reformer classes are amazing. The machines really make it a little more challenging. I do have to say that these classes are 1 hour and when you are doing the reformer it is a little annoying to constantly take away and add bands so I feel that the class "lesson" could be crafted a little bit better to minimize the process. Things to be aware of: 1)it's a small studio, and there might be private therapeutic sessions on the two larger/more complex reformers in the back right. 2) They don't have a lot of extra space for (your) stuff, just small cubbies in the studio-one for each member (don't bring too much stuff, and try and make sure you have a smaller bag--shoes and umbrellas go outside the entrance/door) 3) they do TRX classes as well (looking forward to trying one of those)! 4) Cait hosts a running club in Hoboken (see Athleta's insta or DM her for timing-it's usually on the Bum Pilates insta stories) 5) walk, lyft or lime-parking is REALLY challenging since it's right by the path Definitely worth a try if you've done Pilates (and even if you haven't).

Holly's energy is fully there and choreography is crazy but class was amazing and the abs part killed me after doing a workout the day before. The only thing that was a little difficult was the mic verse the music. Sometimes couldn't fully understand what was being said as the music was somewhat over powering her. Other than that the class was great and intimate.
