Rusty of ProKleen promised to finish the job in one month of remediating my kitchen from a slow leak which got under the wood floor. He failed to keep this agreement by not even being finished by 2 months. He tried convincing me that his men could"accidentally " break my 20 yr old countertop so that they could install another one to my liking. To which I replied...... "O hell no!" He, also, tried getting me to agree to removing all of the wooden flooring throughout my home instead of just a few square feet in my kitchen. "Ah, no to that, too!." So I paid him for the work done, thus far, and then fired the company. I hired an honest contractor who finished the job. And for a lot less money. The last infraction that I just found out today is that Rusty is requesting money from my insurance company for work that he did not do. And this is why the insurance company hasn't paid me after I submitted the invoice for the work, legitimately, done and paid for by me. What nerve!!! It's never pleasant having to write a review like this, but my conscience tells me to warn people. Here is the warning. In May of 2021, the septic system backup and flooded the bathroom and a nearby bedroom of a house that we were renting out. The repair area is about 300 square feet between two rooms. We hired Prokleen. They said insurance would cover the entire project and it would be likely be done within a month. It's been almost five months now and the project is still not finished. The details: initial clean up of hazardous material took about a month due to asbestos in the drywall. After the clean up, they started the rebuild. Steve, my contact, told me he would walk me through the process of choosing flooring to make sure that I did not exceed insurance coverage. I found flooring that I liked. The flooring company manager warned that it would take several weeks to arrive due to the pandemic. He urged me to have Prokleen place the order immediately. By phone and text, I informed Steve of the selected flooring and the warning. Steve said he would calculate costs and call me back. If we agreed, he would place the order immediately. I heard nothing from Steve over the next week, but the flooring company called to warn me that Prokleen had not contacted them. They were worried for our tenants. I called Steve to inquire. Steve, said they had not yet placed the order because they needed to calculate the cost of the flooring to ensure it's within my price range. Unless Prokleen uses an abacus to run calculations, the explanation fails. It's only 300 square feet! Steve promised to take care of it. I was in ill-health at the time and neck deep in work and due to exhaustion, failed to follow up with Prokleen, trusting that they would take care of it. Big mistake. Nothing from Prokleen for a month, so I called. Apparently, they had sent me an estimate by email a month prior. Why would they email without calling or texting as they had always done in the past? So much for Steve's promise to walk me through the entire process. The flooring price was $1,000 over budget. Selecting different flooring would delay the process even longer--my poor tenants! I emailed and called Steve to complain. I agreed to the flooring because there was no time to lose in the install. My tenants were living in the living room. I told Steve I wanted to talk with him about the pricing before I paid, because it seems unfair to me. Steve promised to send someone out to talk with me. No one ever came. The build-out began. About a month later, Prokleen accounts receivables called to collect $1850. The extra $850 was due to late payment. I said the fee was not fair because no one had come out to speak with me as Steve had promised. The clerk canceled the extra fees and said he would have someone call me to explain things. Never happened. A week later, I left another message asking for an explanation. Never got a call. I called again. No reply. Prokleen then hired a subcontractor. They got halfway through the build-out, then suddenly stopped without explanation. I emailed Prokleen. They said they had underestimated tand would have to order more flooring. They had under-calculated the material needed. How can you miscalculate 300 square feet? I was told that the extra material needed to complete the job would cost me an extra $850, exactly equivalent to late payment fee. I got a bill for $1,852.96 -- still no one has called to have that billing conversation. Several weeks later, I get a text saying that the material had not arrived because the flooring company had marked the order for pick-up. ProKleen refused to pick it up. I'm dumbfounded at this point. I texted them a week later--flooring had not arrived. They assured me that it would arrive in a day or two and that they would be out first thing the next week to complete the installation. The next week came and is nearly gone. It's Thursday now. No one has come. No text. No call. No email. Now here are the final three points I want to make. First, how on earth could they promise me that I was not going to be charged extra, if they can't even do the material math for 300 square foot installation? The fact that they got that estimate wrong tells me that any mistake that they make on their end, they expect ME to pay for. Second, why did they hire a subcontractor to complete the work? That surely raised their costs. Seems I'm having to pay that extra cost maybe...under the guise of miscalculation. Finally, the tenants moved out three months ago because they were tired of living in the living room and having no sink in the bathroom. We can't use the space until the build-out is complete. We are now nearly five months into the process now... So Yelpers, do you think I should pay anything extra? Would you? If you want a never ending headache and wallet-leak, I couldn't recommend a better company for the job! P.S. I'll update this review if anything of note changes. Otherwise... read more

I could not agree more with Haileys' comment/review from1/22/2023 any more emphatically. Against better judgement engaged these "people" to diagnose and then repair a mysterious leak that caused a massive amount of water damage to a hardwood floor such that the floor was turned to dust. In the end and despite "Rusty" suggesting the likely cause, his crew failed to investigate sufficiently leaving me with counters torn out, damaged kitchen tile, a hole in the floor (oh sorry: they did put a piece of plywood over the hold to cover for an additional $805) and a total bill of $2300! I had someone else come in merely to give a quote on repairing the floor. Within 5 minutes, he was able to determine that the cause was an exterior wall wicking moisture (for years) into the floor and hence the massive damage. In the end, will need an entire exterior wall replaced. Phone call response was "well, you would have needed the floor torn out anyway". No response to letters of complaint either to "Rusty" or the owner - Jason Stout. Worse than their joke of a service and total ineptitude, their lack of response just confirms that they are aware of their dishonesty and have no interest or intention or rectifying. Though companies of this ilk would never read and certainly not respond to critical reviews, I will say this to them in any case. After being brushed off by two previous carpet cleaners, I decided to call ProKlean. Whoever I called on the phone, David I think, was very nice and gave me an estimate (which didn't increase after service) and scheduled a time that same week. The tech called and confirmed the time before coming. He was knowledgeable without putting me down, fast and efficient. My carpets weren't bad before but they look so much better now. Terrible company who backs their shady employees when they withhold information from their customer. These people are crooks! Don't let their prized PM Rusty into your home. It took them 8 weeks to revise and create an honest estimate, then they charged me the wrong lengths and quantities...when I asked about the invoice the owner and VP of the company said I was assaulting him for asking him to go over the bill of charges the PM slapped on my project. These guy are awesome. I have had them clean carpets in my rentals for several years now. One rental in particular, I was sure I was going to have to replace the carpet when the tenant moved out. I gave ProKleen a call and there technician brought this carpet back to life. This saved me thousands in replacement costs. When our home was built in 2014, ProKleen was recommended by our builder. We only have carpet in the master so, every 6 months I decided to have the master bedroom traffic area cleaned. The first carpet/upholstery cleaner was named Mike -he cleaned my sofa/love seat and the traffic area in the master bedroom - he was terrific! 6 months later, I learned he was gone and another took his place, he was good. Then a year passed and they sent a new guy who didn't do a very good job so ProKleen sent their 'best carpet cleaner' named BEAR? Well, he made a mess, the hose shot off his machine and sprayed dirty water on 3 of my bedroom walls, on my sheer panels, my lovely dresser and mirror and on an antique wing back chair. The worst part... he never mentioned it to me when he was finished. He left my carpet a wet, soggy mess that took nearly 24 hours to dry in a stiff, crunchy way. After I called the office to complain, he returned to fix the dirt spots on my antique chair and as he was taking it outside, he banged it into the door jams and scuffed one of the wooden legs. I understand he has left but it doesn't get any better with the latest young boy and his girlfriend. They sat across the street, curbside and smoking before they saturated the master bedroom carpet and left. The carpet has been cleaned improperly allowing the mat to become wet and as that result, the dirt tends to resurface. My carpet is practically new and that one area looks horrid! CONSUMER BEWARE!! My rug was returned to me yesterday. It is ruined. The soft velvety texture of the rug is now matted and crusty. I still have never received a phone call from the owner!!! Only a message on yelp in response to this review that the manager left me a message....very disappointing. When I spoke with Jason, the manager, he knew nothing of the situation, neither did George who dropped it off. I am a local business owner and would never treat my clients this way. We recently purchased a hundred year old home filled with asbestos, unwanted housemates and their filth. Pro Kleen has been instrumental in helping us make our home more safe and livable for our family from cleaning out the vents to asbestos abatement. They charged a fraction of the amount estimated by another local company. They encouraged us to keep our rigid ducting system, saving us even more money. So many companies just convince you to spend as much money as possible. Definitely not the case with Pro Kleen. After two service visits we still had a mystery smell in the house. Steve came out and investigated. He could have easily talked us into more services but instead he gave his honest opinion that the smell was just old house smell trapped in the carpet and paint. We painted and removed the carpet and painted and the smell went away. He could have easily talked us into services that we didn't need. I cannot recommend them enough. read more
