If your time is valuable and an individual's integrity is important to you, then avoid this individual. We requested a quote for a deck. Nick changed the first 2 appointments we had with him, thus wasting our time since we had set aside time to meet with him. Finally, the third time he set an appointment with us, he was over an hour late, again most disrespectful even though we were trying to give him one last opportunity to bid our job. After spending over an hour with him, he promised to have a quote for us by the following Tuesday (this last meeting was on a Thursday). When we received nothing by the following Thursday, 2 days after we expected his quote, I left a message to please let us know status. He did not return our call. I left him 2 subsequent messages over 2 weeks, asking what is going on, but he did not bother to respond. In the last message, I asked him that if he no longer wants to bid the job, he could at least simply have the decency and professional courtesy to let us know. That was almost a week ago. AND STILL HE HAS NEVER CONTACTED US AFTER WASTING SO MUCH OF OUR TIME! This is a rather stark indication of the true character, or lack thereof, of this individual and what you can expect if you engage him. We strongly recommend you go somewhere else. Lord knows what may have occurred if we had given a deposit and hired someone such as this who demonstrates such an incredible lack of respect for others! We are in Grants Pass, NOT NEVADA. I hired Nick to help fix up my new house, fixing the deck, replacing some outdoor stairs, fixing a little electrical to get the house up to code, and doing some painting. Nick recently built a two Level Trex deck for us in our backyard. We had to replace our twenty something redwood deck which had deteriorated beyond repair. After much research we Decided to have Varanelli Construction do the work for us. He was highly recommended by a previous client of his. He was also very prompt in answering my text for a bid. He showed up on time to meet with us to determine what we wanted and to discuss pricing and timelines. Others we had contacted either did not bother to reply or were way over priced in our opinion. Nick provided a detailed contract and stuck by it. He arranged for the permit and inspections. He kept us informed at each step of the inspection process. He removed our old hot tub, no damage to our property at all. Nick and his helper John do meticulous work. The inspector even told us how well constructed our deck was! We appreciate The fact that Nick took the time to keep us informed all through out the building process to be sure we were happy. And indeed we did make a few tweaks along the way which he did for us with no complaints and always with a smile. I would not hesitate to hire Nick again for future projects. We highly recommend him.
