He made me feel so comfortable and was extremely encouraging throughout the entire process. I brought along quite the entourage - with a lot of opinions! Angel stayed extremely professional and treated each of us with such grace. I ended up saying "YES!" to the perfect dress here! The selection of gowns is INCREDIBLE. Unfortunately, that was a very false claim on their website as there were less than 10 dresses to choose from and from a designer they are no longer working with. I was able to squeeze into several dresses and they put material in the back to try and show what it might look like if it closed, but it was very uncomfortable, very unflattering, and not the bridal experience I was hoping for. There were 2 gowns I loved , but neither close to my size so I couldn't get an actual sense what they would look like on my wedding day. There are no other options, you just have to buy the dress (both were around $1800 plus tax and alterations) and pray it actually looks good. That's gonna be a heck no for me. 5 stars for the salon and the personalized attention, 2 stars for the overall experience.

Before I even walked in a noticed that my name was written on their board outside. It made me feel extra excited and extra welcome. The stylist they paired me with for my appointment was Stephany. She was amazing, and I want to be her friend even outside of the store! She first gave me a tour of the entire studio, then personally took me around to each section and helped me pick a dress from each style. We tried one of everything to narrow down what I really liked, and then she picked dresses based on the pieces I kept commenting that I liked. She was spot on with her choices. She even made sure that my mom and sister felt involved in the appointment too. Stephany was perfect at showing every aspect of each dress and highlighting my features and listening to what I want. The fact that the measurements were wrong is irrelevant really because the tux itself is insanely cheap looking. It reminds me of a Halloween costume (or a waiter at the Olive Garden). My fiance understandably was freaking out, so we packed it right back up and drove right out to Winter Garden Village to find a replacement. Luckily we were able to rent a new Calvin Klein tux at Men's Warehouse for only $30 more and we can pick it up tomorrow (4 days before the wedding). All this being said, the ladies at Formal Spot were very nice leading up to this, which made me hesitant to write such a negative review. Maybe their in-store formal dresses are a different story but the outsourced tuxes are just awful and I would hate for another groom to make the same mistake we did to save a couple bucks.

I'm giving it one star and I'm being generous…read more The store is crammed, uncomfortable and not a clean place overall; not enough room or light to appreciate the dresses. You're not allowed to take pictures of the dresses, unless you are purchasing it. The surroundings of the store are sketchy with a lot of suspicious people wandering around. The person who runs the business, Esmeralda, is an insensitive lady who lacks of empathy, honesty and customer service skills. She managed to manipulate and convince us to buy a dress several sizes bigger. She assured us she had someone that would take care of the alterations very quickly, that it wouldn't be very expensive and that we could make the adjustments until a time closer to the event. The reality is that I chose this place because I could pay for the dress in several payments during this waiting period. A week after the last payment she messaged me out of the blue with zero manners, simply saying "you must pick up the dress or I'll charge for a storage fee" this was never discussed, and it felt like she was just pushing to sell the dress and get rid of it. After all this, the dress I went pick it up despite the alterations that needed to be made, which she had promised were very easy and would take about a week. She gave us the dress in a torn plastic bag even though she displays them in a much nicer presentation at the store. When I brought up my discomfort with taking home the dress in a bag that you would normally get from the cleaners, she said that I had to pay for the nicer bag. I have purchased many dresses in my life, and I have never had to pay for a garment bag. To avoid further discussion I paid for the bag to take the dress home. This was 8 months before the event. When the day arrived that the alterations had to be made (2 months before the event) , she said without any regret, that the person who would normally do this, had to leave due to an emergency so we had to find someone else on our own. No apologies, no solutions, and zero empathy. I was mesmerized by how she did not care or even tried to provide a solution to a situation she caused due to her misinformation. She was incapable of recognizing the consequences of her actions and her dishonest behavior, instead she put the fault on us. I took the dress to someone else to do the fitting, and this other lady said that it would take a lot of time since the construction of the dress was complex, and a lot of adjustments needed to happen in order for it to look good on my daughter, so we had to pay extra for a rushed service. I paid nearly as much for the adjustment as I did for the dress. It honestly felt like this was something she knew from the beginning, and that she was never planning on providing someone to do the adjustments on the dress. You would expect from a business that sells dresses, a situation like this would never happen. If she says "I have so one who can do the alterations" you would imagine that even in the event that that person falls through, she would have a back up... specially if we purchased a much bigger dress, following her (wrongful) advise. My intention with this review is to prevent families from becoming a victim of a situation like this. Save yourself from a cumbersome and uncomfortable process and don't go to this awful place. There are a lot of other stores to find beautiful dresses for your daughter. Any other will be better and safer, I assure you.
