This business doesn't even deserve 1 star. I was denied my Virginia insurance licensing exam despite presenting a valid U.S. passport and a valid Virginia driver's license. Staff claimed my IDs were invalid due to an extra last name and falsely stated this was a State of Virginia policy. I later confirmed directly with the Virginia Bureau of Insurance that no such policy exists. This arbitrary denial caused unnecessary delay, financial loss, and stress. Much better experience than I expected. They are very well-organized, testing center is clean, comfortable, and excellent climate-control. Was concerned it would be hot but temp was perfect. They are very strict about policies, but I understand why they have to be to prevent cheating. For example, after getting set up at my computer but before starting my test, I wanted to get a quick drink of water from my locker and had to go through the entire process of having my glasses checked, metal detector-wand, etc. before going back in. But was relieved to find the facility comfortable and well-organized. Parking was super easy. Highly recommend this location. read more

The people who work here have zero joy in life. I have never been treated so aggressively. I could not process the employee blasting me with not understanding his terrible instruction and customer service. I just did not talk, followed instruction and took my test. It took me about 10 minutes to be able to focus on my test. Glad I passed and will never need to go there again. read more

I already had two bad experience at this location. They are not friendly. They are not people work with happiness. They are there like they don't want to be there working . It's just a test they treat us like we are criminal ! It's not all of them just Asian a woman and a man. I don't know their names, but I'm going to know their names for sure. And I thought it was just with me but last week when I went there again, when I was leaving at the elevator, I have the two people with me. They had the same impression as me and I talked with myself., oh it's not just Me, they treat with no kindness, not friendly they shouldn't be working with people !!! Contrary to other reviews I had a really good experience at this center. Parking was easy. If you read the directions for the proper ID it is pretty smooth. I got there an hour early and with seat availability was able to start my test 45 minutes early. Every person I interacted with was kind and polite. read more

Went here to take my MCAT. Very small waiting room. It was packed and the lockers were so tiny. Don't bring a backpack, just bring something small that can fit your snacks. You just need your ID. They provide you with pencils, papers and earmuff. You can bring your own earplugs, but not the kind with strings. Practice practice taking tests before actually taking the real thing. I did a lot of practice and I paced myself well and I managed by rest times well. This place felt like I was in jail. Very suffocating. No windows. just walls. read more

There were some great moments working here during my short training period as an employee such as Rick's patience through training, sharing my experience, and meeting the staff. It can be a fun environment for employees if the staff recognizes that even comments meant as a joke can be hurtful, and I would personally recommend that there should be a staff member focused primarily on training the new employees so it does not fall on the other employees who need to attend to test-takers. It is very evident the center is understaffed, which could explain the challenges I experienced during training. Hiring more folks would make it easier for employees to comfortably take a lunch break while covering bases. Jeanie insisted for me to leave my water bottle at the other station when telling me I had to switch stations, which might be as the result of micro-managing, and thus putting stress on the employee. I would not work here again, but I am thankful for Mr. Rick's and the staff's moments of patience, and urge to improve the computer systems, training process so trainees can view training videos before coming into the office, and consider that asking about 'suspected' eye conditions is not acceptable. read more

Went there to take a Praxys test and the person at the front desk was very rude and would not let me explain an issue pertaining my required ID. This person did not let me explain myself and told me that he would not argue or listen to my explanation. This was a very unpleasant and unnecessary situation that could have been solved if the person listened. I was able to take the test after a second employee there confirmed that I indeed was allowed to use my ID. read more

I've taken a few professional certification exams here since many organizations use this company to administer the test. The location is off W Broad Street in the building with flowers on the side (you won't miss it!) and there's ample parking in the garage as well as the lot. This location shares its space with other businesses but you shouldn't have any trouble finding Their check-in process is inefficient. Be sure to bring a form of identification (drivers license, passport, etc.) and your appointment confirmation. You're allowed to keep water/snacks outside above the coat hangers. I checked in, picked out a locker and read the testing center policies. Afterward, you have to wait until the next person can check you in, take your agreement form, search your material (if you're allowed to bring notes/books for your exam) page by page, use a metal detector wand and also hike up your pants so they can see your ankles and turn over your pockets (they even make you take off your glasses so they can check them!). I feel like I've had an easier time going through TSA at the airport. My check-in process has always been frequently interrupted because of other testers who need to check out when taking a break (it counts against your exam time). The test room is cold so I would suggest wearing long sleeves (hoodies are allowed, but not big jackets). They also have headphones to wear to drown out the noise, but they're definitely not noise cancelling. You can also bring your own earplugs if you don't mind them getting inspected. The bathroom is outside and requires a key to enter. read more

Very professional staff. They are also pleasant and nice. The check in and out from breaks were thorough but quick. Just make sure before coming in for the test you read the rules, screening process, biometrics and of course what to bring and not to bring with you. And you will not have any delays or trouble getting in and out. If you want full focus, you may want to bring a reliable soft ear plug that mask out sound. That's my biggest regret. I have it but was so anxious and nervous for my test that I forget it. And as other reviewers said, each people taking different exams. I weren't sit next to people typing essays but the examinee both on my right and left read their exams out, may be not out loud but their mumbles are loud enough to be distracting. The earmuffs provided are similar to one you use in shooting and for a whole day exam, it became very uncomfortable. Their parking is at the back. Elevator then opens on the other side once you're up. You will need key to use the bathroom. The prometric center has 2 trays with i think 2 sets of key each for male and female bathroom. Lockers are provided. All bags must be in the locker. They allowed us to put food and water on top of locker which saved me time. You bring the locker key and your ID with you when you go in and out of the testing area or room. read more

Use GPS if you're not familiar with the area, the entrance is in the back of the building (as is the parking). If you're waiting for your child who is testing, bring snacks and items to keep you entertained. You cannot leave the room (aside from perhaps using the restroom) and there's nothing supplied to you (no TV, magazines, vending machine, etc). While I don't expect them to provide me with any of these, I would have hoped the seating is more comfortable than the worn out 80s style waiting room chairs. Needing to wait for my child to complete a 4+ hour test on these chairs was not the most comfortable to say the least. Would've been nice if there was a vending machine near the bathrooms, I'm sure the vendor would make a ton of money from it. They are very strict about your apparel and what you don't bring into the testing room. They made a gentleman remove his necklace and place it in the lockers. No water. They made a woman spit out her gum before entering. Everything goes into the locker and you cannot access your locker during the exam (I.e. during breaks). Any snacks or water you bring (and I encourage you to bring snacks and water) must be placed out in the open, above the lockers. Your ID must have your signature on it, and they're strict about your signatures matching that on your ID. The proctors/employees are professional and kind. read more

Alright, no one really wants to be at Prometric, right? You're there because you have to take what is likely an extremely important and meaningful exam. The employees from check in to security at the Falls Church Prometric are amazingly friendly and efficient, making the process as painless and stress-free as possible. Compared to the K Street location in downtown DC, this is a high-end spa. If you are local to DC, I absolutely suggest going to Falls Church for your exam and avoiding K Street if at all possible. Logistically, the center is located right on Broad Street so it is easy to access. There is ample free parking in a lot behind the building. If you are interested in spending the night in the area before or after your exam, I definitely suggest the Hilton Garden Inn which is just one block from Prometric. Their breakfast opens up in time for you to grab some oatmeal and other brain foods prior to your exam. Looking to treat yourself afterwards? Prometric is in the same building as Flippin Pizza and directly across the street from a delicious Bolivian place named Luzmila's. Good luck! read more

This business is infuriatingly difficult. It is impossible to get someone on the phone. I have to register and pay for people to complete exams and they have no procedures to provide any services to assist with this purchasing situation. NCPCCI is not in their list certifications. I am so overwhelmed with information that isn't helpful or useful. Businesses have got to realize that there are companies out there that need to pay for their employee's exams, training, membership fees, etc. I can't stand doing business with companies that can't accommodate third-party payments. I recently took an 8 hr exam at this center in Dec 2020. I was so nervous thinking about what could go wrong after reading all the bad reviews (you really don't need to add up to the stress of the exam). The 3 ladies from the reception to the inside desk were super pleasant and professional, very helpful and polite. I arrived 30 mins before the assigned time and was allowed to start right after they checked my ID and everything. The center was clean and well set up with good spaced seating for breaks, lockers were a good size and toilet was near by and clean. The cubicles were spacious enough and the chair was comfortable. Jeanie is a really awful front desk representative. She was abrasive, unprofessional, and rude throughout the encounter to multiple test takers; I was one of them. We were 5-7 minutes late for our appointment which we paid hundreds of dollars to keep, but upon check in she demanded to know why we were late. This is not her concern and should not affect that we paid for an appointment to be there. She made a point to take every other test taker in the room before us, even those who checked in after us who had appointments later than us. She condescendingly asked one of us to read the rules several times, even after expressing that he had already read them the first time. Her unnecessary attempt at power is damaging to people who are preparing to take important and expensive certifications. The other staff were professional, but Jeanie needs to be re-trained. Secondly, my exam crashed three times during the 4 hours that I was there. This is unacceptable and I was not offered an alternative testing date to make up for this. PMP exam is what I gave. I had a good experience here. Checklist: 1. Drivers license 2. Print out exam confirmation letter (supplementary, not required at this exam center) 3. Take proof of citizenship or legal residence in the States, passport & PR card etc (again supplementary, not required at this exam center) 4. Snacks & Water 5. Ear plugs (disjoint, cannot have a connecting wire between them) 6. Thin cloth jacket (heavy puffers not allowed in exam room). You're allowed to take jacket in for testing and you can take it off, it needs to be put in the back of the chair They DO provide a calculator & the exam screen itself has a calculator built in, so no need to bring you own calculator Contrary to previous reviews, the new bathrooms are right next to the testing center & does not take much time going/coming back On checking in, you'll be led into a second room for THOROUGH security checking (including metal detectors) The facility is maintained at a pleasant room temperature, I would recommend taking a thin cloth jacket with you, especially if you end up right next to the air vent Only 4 things allowed inside exam room: ear plugs, your id, locker keys & jacket. read more

Why does this organization even exist on this site? Let's start with the location - beautiful, clean, building, shared with other offices, restaurants, the USPS, adjacent to a school and located right there on route 7 in Falls Church. Yes, the infamous route 7, down the way from the beloved traffic of Tysons Corner. If any little accident takes place here, you're screwed - even if you planned to be there an hour ahead! Thankfully, no traffic drama for me the two times I've had the unpleasant experiences of going here, though being hit by a car would have been preferred prior to my appointment. I would say my issue has always been with parking (which will easily set you back by 30 minutes.) The garage is tight. Very tight. Keep in mind that the building Prometric has decided to settle themselves in is shared with other offices, restaurants, and the post office!! The Prometric office itself is very well kept, spacious, and even has a waiting room. Why the two stars? Because I think their staff could use some help. That's all. I had the WORST experience with Prometric. They are assigned with my company I work for and it's a MUST to take this exam using this company. Since the pandemic has not been easy they have offered for individuals to take it at home. The requirements that they request to test at home is outrageous. Unfortunately, for some people they do not have many places to go to as a "study area". One of proctors LAUGHED at me because I did not have a study area-only my bedroom. He was upset that my bed was not made (when it was-I was just sitting on it). He also degrading me as a human being. Profiled me, profiled my home, judge me by my looks because I only had one area that I own. NAHAM was not supportive. All they said was sorry and sorry for being judge. They did not offer no compensation or at least a retake for the same price. But all they said is read the policy. I have spoken to maybe 5 individuals and no one mentioned the proctor being wrong. NAHAM stated they have strict guidelines but at the same time do not have guidelines for individuals taking the test at home or in a classroom. After the proctor made me feel useless I was crying during the whole exam, I was in distress, I suffer from Anxiety and I tend to shake alot-the proctor also made a joke about that. Honestly, I never experienced this before from Prometric or NAHAM but it's by the far worst PEOPLE, COMPANY I HAVE EVER WORKED WITH. This is without a doubt the most bizarre testing center I have been too. First off, When I walked in the lady at the desk was nice. She got me checked in and gave me a locker key, my Prometric agreement, and then brought to another room. At this point at any other test center the room would be the testing room. Nope. Not here. Now I wait until the person at the next desk can see me so he can take my agreement form, check for me in the system again (and assign me a computer station). They then as me to stand and use a metal detecting wand on me and have me flip my pockets inside out. Then, before sending me to my station, take care of someone that just finished a test while I sit and wait. They then bring me into the test area and I begin me exam. The test room and workstations themselves are fine. But I felt like I was walking into a classified area of some top secret facility. That aside, the staff was kind of stale in personality and it was just overkill getting checked in. Would I test here again, sure. Now that I know the routine I will just arrive a little early. read more

This is the second time I've been at this testing center for my DAT. Check-in was as smooth as could be. Michael, Soo, and Jeanie were all very pleasant and polite. There are other reviews mentioning that the employees were rude; however this was not my experience at all. Kudos to them for being professional and kind, especially at 6:45am! If you plan on testing here, PLEASE bring a jacket! I wore a zip-up hoodie and I was freezing the entire time. I also do get cold easily so that could've just been me. Everything else was pretty standard. The center is pretty small and it's a bit dreary inside the actual testing center. They do provide noise cancelling headphones which work surprisingly well and are comfy to wear for an extended period of time. Computers weren't glitchy or slow either. read more

I just finished taking an exam at this testing center and I guarantee I won't be back. People coming in for major exams are nervous and anxious and the last thing we need is to be treated disrespectfully. The majority of the staff seemed to understand this and were pleasant, however my review is specifically for Jeanie. She was awful. From the get-go she was rude and abrasive. At one point I asked her if I should leave my water bottle on top of the lockers so I could come out and quench my thirst if need be. There was either a sign or it was noted in the pre-exam handout stating that leaving one's water above the lockers could be permitted. She responded by condescendingly asking me if she told me I could do that. The way one might sarcastically ask a child if that was in fact part of their instructions. I responded that no she didn't, and she replied "so you can't." Just unnecessarily rude. It was like she gets off on embarrassing people in public. Besides that I noticed she was equally impolite to other test takers. She doesn't ask you to sit, orders you to sit. This woman has no finesse. I had no problem with anything else but Jeanie completely left me feeling uncomfortable and offended. She made it feel more like we were admitting ourselves into prison rather than simply coming in to take an exam to further our careers. This is the 3rd testing center I've been to and by far the only negative experience I've had. read more

I took the TOEFL iBT test last month and my experience was really bad. I arrived 40 minutes before my test and they started to rushing us because the test was just about to start. In the first section of the test which is the reading part they didn't provide earplugs, they have some headphones to block any noise but they don't work. My score was really affected because in front of me a guy was already taking the speaking section and he was talking so loud. After finishing the test I made that observation to the proctor but he just apologize to me. They were testing to many people for such a small center. I am going to take the test again but I am looking for another testing center with a better reputation. read more

This was my second visit to this location. Several of the professional certification organizations use this company to administer the testing needed to obtain the certification. It is easier to get on an airplane than to get to take the test. You need to sign in, provide an official id, and get fingerprinted, photographed, and searched. On exit you get fingerprinted again and have to sign out. If you need a bio-break during the test, you lose all kinds of time going through the sign out, sign in procedure. This is the second time I've taken a test via a Prometric center. The previous center I went to (in Richmond) had a quick, smooth and easy transition into the testing area, so I was expecting the same thing here. Unfortunately ... It took a little longer than I would have liked to get seated. As I was being checked in for the second time, the person checking me in decided to simultaneously check someone else out. So basically I was put on hold in the middle of checking in, for someone who rudely interrupted that process. I know it sounds petty, but the only reason it bothered me was because I was all hyped and ready to take my test, but I feel like I waited a longer time than I had to on things that could have been avoided. At one point I was just so over it and the adrenaline completely faded lol. Customer service was okay though. At least the guy checking me in apologized for the inconvenience. It wasn't so horrible that I'd want to test in Maryland, so I guess in the end it wasn't that bad of a place. read more

I can't describe how terrible the employees at this center, they are the most unprofessional test center I have ever seen. this is my second attempt here after not having a suitable date for my test elsewhere. in the first attempt, all test takers evacuate the building for a false alarm in the middle of doing the test. I took my professional exam usmle here.the place and all the member all are very helpful and well organized .there is parking just outside the building.you can bring juice,water ,coffee and foods and have to keep it in locker .in your break time u can eat.and there is a restroom midway to the hall and the key for the restroom u have take it from the reception .i was very comfortable during my exam .there computer, keyboard, headphone all are good and no technical issue . I question the validity of Prometric administering any type of exam! I was in the process of taking an exam when their computer shut down on me. They moved me to 3 different computers before they could get the exam to work again. The keyboard didn't even work on one of them! While they were trying to fix their broken computers, the timer on my exam was still going and when they finally got it fixed my 25% of my exam time had lapsed. This Prometric site apparently replaces the testing site on Old Lee Highway in Fairfax. Leaving aside my personal thoughts on what a racket Prometric has on educational testing, I will make this review as fair as humanly possible. First off, finding this place can be a little difficult because you can't see it from the street. Look for the office building with the post office in it. You'll have to pass through the middle of the building (an archway) to reach the parking lot towards the rear of the building. Second, upon entrance to the Prometric lobby, expect to be filmed. Security is no joke. I was fingerprinted no less than three times and had to turn my pockets inside out every time I came back to the testing area. I just found it easier to walk around with my pockets inside out on breaks. The staff was incredibly professional and I don't blame them for the insane policies instituted by the individual organizations under which the exams are administered. They let me take my test with minimal distractions. Ear plugs of the earmuff variety are available. Also, this testing site was pretty quiet i.e. no traffic noise, no construction noise, etc. One of my main complaints is the bathroom facilities. The bathroom is accessible by key only and I assume is shared with some of the other offices on the floor. If I'm there for an 8 hour exam, I want to know that I have priority seating, so to speak. The building prides itself on being "green". However, in the infinite wisdom of the environmentalist who designed this bathroom, they made everything low flow. So yes, that means after I "drop a deuce", I get to flush 4 or 5 times thus using more water than normal. Also, I get to stand at the sink and wash my hands for 4 times as long. How about I take this one step further and just not wash my hands after going to the bathroom? I'd be more than happy to save the environment that way. Parking was plentiful in the morning. They have lockers for storage of personal possessions (although depending on what exam you are there for, policy might dictate that you are prohibited from using a locker). Overall, I thought this test center is an improvement over the one in Fairfax. Judging from stories about other test centers, you could probably do a lot worse. read more

This was my second time at the Falls Church Prometric location and third time at a Prometric in the DC area overall (the other time was at the DC location - don't recommend it unless you need a metro-accessible location or you're into taking important tests with a background of construction noise and sirens). The Falls Church site can't be beat, as far as I'm concerned. And it was only a 15 minute drive from downtown DC! Ample parking behind the building once you find it. As others have pointed out, it's not super obvious but look for the sign that says 800 Broad St and you'll see the arched entryway to the parking lot. There's a pizza place downstairs that I've never tried, but hey if you forgot to pack a test-day sando I'm sure it'll do. The check-in process was easy and efficient. The employees are professional and friendly. Unlike my experience at the DC location, when I arrived 30 minutes prior to test time as advised, the center was open and ready to check people in. Lockers are provided for your belongings, as are hangers for the winter months. Be aware that the temperature can fluctuate. I wore my comfiest yoga pants and a light long-sleeved shirt and was comfortable. If you choose to wear a sweatshirt or jacket, note that you can't take it off once you're inside the testing center, so you have to commit to sweatshirt or no sweatshirt for at least one testing block. Quiet quiet quiet location - but I do recommend bringing your own foam ear plugs as they are likely far more comfortable than the standard construction-style headphone ear covers provided by the site. This is where this site vastly outshines the DC location. In the combined 16 hours that I've spent in this location (seriously, 16 hours), I heard one siren once for 5 seconds. read more

I lost the opportunity to do the TOEFL test as scheduled at Falls Church center VA, because frankly, the lady on the front desk don't know her job. I gave her a VALID US Driving license, she put me on hold until the test time has approached & brazenly, asked me a proof of citizenship " particularly passport", if not she said -you've 20 mints to show up again!! I replied; i don't have a passport neither a green card! She said; YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED to do the test, PERIOD. When i got back home & checked ETS website, i found the option to provide a Work Authorization card as a secondary form of ID, which i had with me at the time! I spoke to the manger, Rude guy, he said -we can not go for options one by one! WTH! So why you guys ask specifically for passport/green card? I lost my chance, lost money, mentally drained & have to reschedule the test again,simply, because the service at this center is way way beyond the expectations!! Poor management!! read more

I've been here a couple of times to take tests for my teaching certification. It's in a convenient location. The building itself is kind of cool, it has flowers on it. The staff is really nice and helpful and they will answer general questions about the test if you have any. They even let me test earlier than my appointment since I as early. The only complaint I had was that the last time I came, I tested during the hours the day care center behind it was open and I could hear kids outside screaming and stuff. It was distracting.
