Here are some great things that have made me unquestionably give Piper Lofts a 5/5 rating! 1. They have a very secure parking garage. Moving from OKC to KC - I'm used to living in a house with a garage. I feel very secure where I currently live and that was a major factor when looking for a new place to live! in comparison, other apartments I toured or even just looked at online, lacked very close, secure parking. OKC is a smaller city than Kansas City, so I'm not really sure what to expect, but this was high on my list of priorities. 2. They are pet friendly. This isn't just a simple statement - a lot of places are pet friendly...but when I say pet friendly, I mean...the floors above you AND below you are all entirely made of concrete. No one will hear a fat cat or a rowdy dog running around! 3. THE LOCATION? Amazing! 4. The property manager I have been working with is amazing. I had a generally horrible experience working with other property managers at other locations - I move to Kansas City in July, and on a whim, I reached out to Tiffany, the property manager at Piper Lofts, on a SUNDAY. She was extremely helpful and communicative. I understand that we all need time to decompress on the weekends outside of our jobs, but the fact that this woman was able and willing to speak with me on a Sunday goes so far with me. 5. The application process: super easy, well written, and very clear. I like this. Nothing felt sketchy about the process. 6. Aside from the ease of signing the lease (typically I wouldn't do this before viewing the property in person, but after reading good reviews and knowing about the parking situation, I was sold) - Piper Lofts was willing to let me drive up to Kansas City on a Saturday to just come view the apartment and the property. I forget the other property managers name, but she was equally as great as Tiffany - she was new to the job from what I picked up, but was just as informative as someone who had been working there for 4 years! It was really nice to be accommodated for in this way and for someone to really speak to you like a person. 7. Guys...this apartment complex/community is GORGEOUS. The apartments are unbelievable. You get an amazing view, the exposed brick vibe with huge windows, amazing amenities, a VERY secure building, and a nice parking garage IN A GREAT LOCATION. Overall - compared to my experience with touring/dealing with other apartment complexes/communities in Kansas City - this has been the smoothest process I've encountered. Definitely look into this place if you can! Thank you Tiffany! Tips: "Tips" might translate to "cons" to some, but this is just here to help you guys make your decision: 1. They do limit access on the rooftop pool from what I've seen - don't be mad at management about that if you see a bunch of non-residents there: be annoyed with current residents. Limiting access is nice because it is a smaller roof top pool, but it is a very nice one. 2. If you're moving to an apartment higher than the 2nd floor, plan accordingly. The elevators aren't very big - so it would probably be best to bring a sectional/easy to move furniture with you (I will be following this post up with some pictures/recommendations of "easy to move furniture" to help) Again, it's been too early to tell what my experience as a resident will be like fully..but I already know I made an excellent choice

They came out and determined it needed to be replaced and did so free of charge. I would recommend Creekside to anyone who wants an affordable, nice place to stay.

I always felt safe at the complex with private security access to the garage and surrounding perimeter gates. The apartments themselves were also superior! They have an energy efficient washer/dryer unit, durable & up-to-date finishes, and European style, triple pane windows that do a phenomenal job of insulating the heated / cooled air. I appreciated that everything was built into the base price (parking, utilities, and rent - wifi is separate). It made me feel comfortable keeping the apartment at a comfortable temperature without thinking about a power bill. I truly believe this apartment pays for itself in proximity to the street car, river market, downtown, power and light district, as well as the wonderful events put on by the staff here. I cannot say enough good things about this place and highly recommend anyone to live here. The location is very convenient and there is a wonderful park next to our complex for walking my dog. So easy to live here with a garage space for all residents and no other apartment above or below you. The office staff and the maintenance crew are amazing, they all want you to feel like Pinegate West is your home. At this time our complex has been going through some major work, new roofs, gutters and new siding is coming soon. Anyone that knows anything about this type of work understands there will always be some mess and inconvenience, but when it's all done the improvements will be worth the slight inconvenience.

The poster needs to give grace to the staff and workers doing their best to accommodate all residents and get the roads clear.....this was a BLIZZARD, with BLIZZARD reactions. It is not the intent of the Pinegate management to make your life miserable. The plow company, used by Pinegate had an unfortunate situation with 2 of their trucks....not uncommon in a weather situation such as this. it would have made zero sense to get out and plow anytime before the snow ended. But, I don't need to defend the plow company, or management, this was simply an act of God, a blizzard as we haven't seen in many, many years. To blast the complex, management or powers is not fair. It is 6:12pm, right now.....our maintenance men are still out cleaning off the snow. I'm sure they are cold, tired and hungry. Offer grace rather than blasting hateful comments. The office staff .. Catastrophic service!!…read more It all started after I moved from Boston, MA to Overland Park, KS to start medicine residency. As a resident, I get a fixed salary each month, and I chose a direct deposit option from my bank account for the rent payment. The account was set 2 months before I actually moved to KS. I used to have Santander bank in MA, which has no branches in the Midwest. I had to switch to Bank of America. When I tried to change the bank information on the website I failed. I was charged $30 fee for having a payment rejected through Santander. I tried to contact the manager, who told me the payment is already authorized and he can't do anything. I took it with a grain of salt as the management agreed to waive the late fees. He told me I'll waive the late fees if you are able to pay today, I did the payment in a couple of minutes and sent him a confirmation. I told him about my online account problem and I have issues with changing the information. I tried multiple times, but the website had two problems, deleting the Santander account, giving me error. And, authenticating the new Bank of America account, telling me type the deposit that the system just added to you bank account, which never happened. I double checked with my bank and it never happened and asked me to talk to the website management. I sent them a screenshot about with the website error. With the next month, on day one, I called the management office, it was a Sunday, left a voicemail. They called the next day, told me that I'll have to pay extra $30 fees and nothing can be done. I told them the payment hasn't gone through and won't be authorized as my Santander bank account is closed and I couldn't delete it from the website due to technical issues. They simply replied, that it's your fault; you should have called us earlier. They are not willing to even think how to help. The lady over the phone was so rude to me; replying by repeating the same phrase over and over and over as a broken tape. I asked to talk to her supervisor, who called me, I tried to re-explain the whole situation and his final answer was; we are going charge you extra $30 only as long as you are able to pay us the rent. He promised to get back to his website techs and investigate more. They refused to accept a debit card payment at the office. Previously, I referred one of my friends to them and he had a bank issue and I paid the first month for him using my debit card at the office using a machine. Now, they are telling me we never accept debit card payments. I agreed to pay the fee and asked them to fix the website and allow me to delete the closed account and to add the new one. I was shocked when I received his email deciding to ban me from using online payments because you had two retuned payments in a row. I emailed him back, he didn't reply; called the management office, asking to talk to him, they said he left, asked to talk to his supervisor; they refused to give me a contact number or an email and told me that well email you the information later and refused to give a time frame. Received a call from them, it was a Thursday telling me that the supervisor will call you on Monday. I was so frustrated because they wasted my time on the emails and calls. I went to the office at around 4:40 pm after work and met one of the stuff who just repeated the same phrases: it's the policy! I tried to explain that it's your website problem and her reply was "it's the policy" and I have to get a pre-authorized check or money order. I explained that it's almost 5 pm and post offices will be closed and I'm already tired after a long day at work, to be surprised by a loud voice coming from the back office - who wasn't a part of the conversation - " Goooo toooo Walmaaaaart .. Open till 6". The office stuff are rigid and not willing to help. I explained hundred times that I don't have a problem paying the rent on time, it's mainly a website issue. They made me pay the extra fee twice, refused to even think about any way to solve my problem, neglected talking to their website developers, supervisor would take a Friday, Saturday and Sunday to call me on Monday to listen to my problem. All what I wanted is to pay the rent on day one of the month. All what I got is wait until the payment is rejected, pay the extra fee and get us a money order - in person. Catastrophic service! Really disappointing!

Watch the rates on the website and wait to sign a lease when the rates are lower - they can go down a couple of hundred randomly. It might be worth it but still beware of the area. There are some nice stores nearby but the neighborhood is not safe to walk alone. I saw the crime map for the area recently and it was pretty shocking - lots of violent crime and even some shootings in the last few years. I'm planning to move at the end of my lease.
