I called the property management company who then told me they get to manage leasing as they see fit. I then called the office and was told by Maria she'd be happy to help me, to call back next week, by next week Maria said the property is not a good fit and they don't need to give me a reason why they refuse to talk to me.

Absolutely loved living in these apartments. We lived in two different units over the course of…read morethree years. We made it a year in a one bedroom before upgrading to a one bedroom with a study. We only upgraded for the extra room and it had a concrete deck, which meant it was legal to use a grill. The office staff were nice, but sometimes bitchy. We had others complain to us more than we had complaints ourselves. Didn't have much need to ever talk to them aside from when they found the cat we were hiding. The maintenance staff were extremely nice and quick. We called in for stuff ranging from a broken dryer to water leaks/mold in the ceiling, and I can't recall it ever going past a day before they came out. The complex itself is made up of individual buildings of 12 units, all surrounded by trees. 6 units have a wooded view (which costs extra) and the other 6 face the parking lot. The top floor apartments have vaulted ceilings, which also cost extra. The complex is very well lit and feels secure. Most of the tenants seemed to be young professionals or med students. We had a police officer in our building and another in the building next to us. We received our deposit back after we moved to another unit and when we moved out of the complex. My wife even lit the counter on fire in the second unit, but I guess they didn't mind the burn marks. We even received our pet deposit back despite the fact that we didn't tell them we had a cat, and thus didn't pay pet rent for two years. The only complaint I can think of is that since it is a complex of young professionals and med students, there are a large number of douche bag tenants, but I can't blame Hillsborough for it. I would recommend a unit with a view of the pool for any lonely males in the Mission area. Complete skinfest in the summer.

I had lived here for about 1 year in studio and about 3 years in luxury 1br…read more Pros:1.Great location, as 2 blocks from Rainbow Blvd and 5-10 min's walk to campus and hospital; 2. Attentive management, since the staff are friendly, accessible, and everthing is fixed within 1 day; 3. Plenty of studios covering BPU bills, as one of the cheapest options near campus if you want privacy; 4. My deposit was fully returned after staying for 3 yrs while I didn't try hard to maintain or clean the place, though I didn't have pets; 5. They are very strict about leasing and subleasing, which makes the tenants more reliable. Cons: 1. Out-dated facilities, especially considering the price; 2. Noisy fridge, A/C, lawn mower in the morning, and the sound of neighbors, which was acceptable to me; 3. Open parking lots getting crowded if arriving after 10pm, and scratches happen; 4. The neighborhood is not the safest, and the rent keeps raising, though I think it happens to almost all the properties around KU Med campus; 5. Very limited shared ammenites. Overall I recommend it to students and staffs who want a convenient and care-free place to stay, but not to people having kids, sensitive to noise, or looking for an elegant lifestyle.

Updating! This is from Apartment Ratings dot com. Its an…read morehonest review from me. I had some better experiences after my last post. I moved out last month. Okay I have been vocal in comments both positive and negatively on this site. Like most things in life Boulevard has its high points and its bruises. Lets go through the most common issues I see on Apartment Ratings: SAFETY: Someone who did not live here shot someone who did not live here. In nearly 2 years that is the ONLY violent crime that I have heard about in the complex. There have been some domestic issues but those happen everywhere. The Boulevard is as safe as any apartment complex my friends live in. BUGS: For the first 18 months, I didnt have bug troubles but my apt is starting to wear and they are coming out of the walls from time to time. Mostly aints. I do need my floor in my bathroom and Kitchen redone because they are still the old design and starting to pull away from the finishing. I did tell the management about this and it was never changed. NOISE: I live in a lower level apartment and don't hardly ever hear my neighbors. Never have in the 2 years I have lived here. SECTION 8: I continue to search to find where people are seeing this is Section 8. I have yet to find this. Someone link me proof? PARKING: I have nearly no problem with parking. I have an active night life and come home after 1am or later many times and find close enough parking. Remember people you can actually rent a reserved spot or rent a house. THIS IS A COMMON APARTMENT ISSUE. I used to go visit a friend in OP and had to park across the street from her complex due to lack of parking. Its never that bad at the Boulevard. OFFICE STAFF: From my dealings with Heather She gets a low A. We got off to a slow start but got to an agreeable resolution on a major issue I had. Honestly the office has turned over so many people but most are nice, except Erica but she's been there the whole time and was never very nice. Maintenance: Under one of the old regimes, the apt complex didnt have a maintenance team, they all quit or were fired. It seems they are back and it seems things are getting done. There used to be a place on the website to place Maintenance orders but they did away with that. Maintenance does try to cut corners but just stay on them. Grounds: They need work. Lots of work. People don't clean up after their animals. People leave trash all over. There has been a landscaping mess on one of the sidewalks that has been solid mud for over a year. This does make the complex look run down. WHEN I MOVED OUT, Heather took GOOD care of us and we were not charged any fees. I appreciate the easy move out and will tenatively recommend people to this place, telling them what I put here. Last I heard the rent was closer to 770 and you can do much better than that up on I35/Lamar at any of those complexes. People who post anonymously are cowards and trolls. If you are that unhappy, post who you are so they can try to help. If they don't help, post that too because then you are going to hear from Nolan.
