The bad - if you're used to a new, shiny club featuring stainless steel open areas and shiny tile FAC is not it. The buildings were built in the 70s and despite some remodeling at the West club both clubs are dated and somewhat dreary. At times it seems they are not even trying to (shower heads in the east club are mismatched, come on), tile is dingy, and both clubs give a worn out vibe. Some of the gym equipment has seen better days, esp at the east. The good - the staff is very friendly, their classes are varied and a lot of fun, both clubs have both a steam room and sauna plus a jacuzzi, and they always seem to have an ample supply of clean towels. Coach Ashley took me through the studio and showed me everything I needed to know before the class so I didn't feel lost. She checked in on me during class to make sure I was doing good, and encouraged me. I did a half treadmill, half weights class. The environment was great, the rest of the class was very helpful and encouraging, especially during the all-out sections when everyone is pushing their hardest. It was a lot of fun! I loved being able to see my heart rate and use it as a metric to push harder or go lighter if I needed to.
