I got to her practice crippled and limping and my knee was super swollen the size of a cantaloupe. After my 3rd acupuncture session I stopped limping although I couldn't bend my knee 100 % and was still swollen. This review documents my experience with a manager who did not take responsibility for employee errors and outright refused to honor my sessions. As of the writing of this complaint, I have 9 sessions 'accrued' at the Franchise. The manager is refusing to refund me after not honoring the bookings I made for them. See attached photos. Instead, he insisted I trade the value I paid $39/session into 'ad-hoc' sessions and cancel my plan. I was being considered for an out of state job where there is no Modern Acupuncture location, so I didn't want to keep 'adding' to the account total which I why I booked all of the sessions I had remaining. I explained if I didn't end up moving out of state, I would happily buy more and asked to pause billing on 11/17 which is also when I did the scheduling for my sessions. I noticed my credit card was billed $159 on 11/19 AFTER I had gone into the business and specifically asked not to be charged given the fact I had enough sessions already especially if I had to relocate. The manager said they would NOT be honoring the bookings since his employee made a mistake. (Ever heard of customer service?) Instead, he wanted to cancel my plan and leverage all the session funds I had on file totaling over $300 and convert them into HIGHER PRICED sessions. I said ABSOLUTELY NOT. I want a refund instead. He refused. I won't be strongarmed into this kind of unethical situation where my value as a customer is completely disregarded and disrespected. As a result I've had to file complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General Office. While the staff are wonderful aside from the Manager, I was made to feel completely disrespected and that my only value as a customer was money, money, money not loyalty. I'm glad at least I can share my experience to protect others from the same treatment.

However, he did draw blood when he removed a needle from my face. The first of several abuses. Dr. Lee had a cotton ball and acetyl alcohol on the ready to wipe it off so this must be a common occurrence for him. That drop of blood should have been my clue to exit because an acupuncture needle should NEVER draw blood. Nevertheless, I was so desirous of help for my chronically clogged ears that I foolishly purchased 10 sessions for $855.00. More fool me! SERIOUS MISTAKE! Dr. Lee was barely present at the start of my second and last appointment on February 14, 2025 which was barely 15 minutes long. Coincidentally, I noticed that the clock in the treatment room no longer worked and I never trust coincidences. Dr. Lee JAMMED several needles around my right ear and disappeared. When he extracted the needles the site in my right hand bled - more abuse! - and once again he had a cotton ball and rubbing alcohol ready to wipe away more evidence of his unprofessional behavior. One of the needles around my right ear must have bled. Dr. Lee was in such a hurry to get out of the treatment room and away from me ay that he missed it because later in the day I rubbed the site and there was blood on my hand. Still MORE evidence of abuse and of Dr. Lee's unprofessional behavior. I finally had enough! Instead of keeping my third appointment today, February 18, 2025 I sent Dr. Lee two e-mails over the weekend. In the second e-mail I pointed out the incidents of his unprofessional behavior during my second appointment and instructed him to either DO YOUR JOB during all of my subsequent treatments or immediately refund my $855.00. No reply. I'll be filing in Small Claims Court for my money and court costs.

I initially came to this naturopathic clinic seeking answers for ongoing health issues. I was given a food sensitivity gut test, which I later learned are highly inaccurate. Based on these results, I was told that gluten and dairy were the cause of all my problems and instructed to eliminate them completely. I trusted this guidance because they are doctors and I am not. Unfortunately, following this advice led to severe gut dysbiosis, to the point that I was hospitalized. I continue to deal with long-term health issues as a result. After this, I returned to conventional (western) medicine, but when that did not bring relief, I decided to give this clinic another chance and saw a different provider. I thoroughly explained everything I had been experiencing. I was then encouraged to purchase hundreds of dollars' worth of supplements, all of which I reacted poorly to. Every single one. Despite extensive testing and repeated blood work over the course of more than a year, it began to feel as though I had to guide the providers toward possible diagnoses myself. I continued spending hundreds--then thousands--of dollars on appointments because the root cause was never identified. Eventually, I sought care elsewhere. An excellent doctor outside of this facility identified the true underlying issue: a chronic mycoplasma infection. This raises a serious question--how was this missed after a year and a half of testing? Because this infection went undiagnosed for so long, I suffered for nearly two years and developed additional conditions, including severe gut dysbiosis, MCAS, and small fiber neuropathy. The damage has been life-altering. There has been no accountability, no acknowledgment, and no refund--despite the immense financial cost and physical suffering I endured while under this clinic's care. I am writing this not out of anger, but out of disappointment. Dietary trends like eliminating gluten and dairy are not a universal solution, and relying on them without thoroughly investigating root causes can be dangerous. In my case, this approach delayed a straightforward diagnosis that could have been identified with a single targeted blood test. I sincerely hope this clinic reflects on cases like mine and does better for future patients--by practicing deeper investigation, individualized care, and responsibility for the outcomes of their recommendations. I spent hundreds of notes thousands dealing with them and lost out on so much more.

I took a muscle relaxer as well as a painkiller left over from a previous back episode to get through the morning as I had to teach an in-person class. He very kindly extended his workday so he could treat me after my class was over. He was very kind and thorough in his examination and identified the source of my pain and immobility pretty quickly. After my treatment which included some massage, acupuncture and manipulation I was able to move much more freely and was nearly completely pain free. He sent me home with some information and stretches to further improve my condition. I went back for a second visit to further treat my back and with a little time left at the end of the session we decided to address some issues I had been having with my knees for years. He did some manipulation and acupressure as well as a little stretching on the worst knee as we didn't have time for both. It felt better as I left and over the next several days, the difference in the treated knee vs the untreated knee was very apparent.
