I initially posted a review back in August but I wanted to post an update. The company never did deliver my furniture. They finally offered to let me come pick it up from them near the end of August & offered to return the $3000 deposit I gave them when they picked it up in May. They refused to tell me where my furniture was being stored until I signed a cancellation agreement with them. It turns out that my furniture which they had claimed for months was in CA was in storage in AZ. If I had known that I would have cancelled much earlier. I flew down to pick up my furniture in mid-September. The guys who showed up to let us into the storage unit turned out to be the same losers who had picked up the furniture from us in May and they showed up 2 hours later than the scheduled time. They thought they were moving my furniture somewhere and brought a truck and movers. After multiple calls to the office in CA by me and them, they finally let me into the storage unit so I could load things into the U-haul truck I rented to move myself to WY. I hired movers to load the truck and they were absolutely terrific. I ended up spending about $4500 between the truck rental, gas, travel expenses and movers to load and unload the truck but I wasn't worried about it because I was going to get my deposit back from Prosperity which would cover most of the costs of the actual move. Silly me! Initially they said they could only do refunds via check and wanted to give me a check when I picked up the furniture. As someone who has worked in the banking industry for years, I said that was fine if it was a certified check or money order. They said they couldn't do that so the only other option was Zelle. I ended up having to open a new bank account to set up Zelle since my current bank isn't in their network. I received $1000 from them in early October and they said that the rest of the refund would be coming soon. I would call them several times a week and they would tell me the payment was scheduled for Friday but somehow no additional payments were ever sent. Sometimes they would tell me I called too early in the week and should call back in a day or two. Sometimes they would tell me I called too late in the week and I would be included in payments next week. It's clear they never had any intention of returning the money as promised in the cancellation form they wanted me to sign back in August. Bottom line is they scammed me out of $2k to store my furniture for several months. Unfortunately, there is no way to get it back since they are no longer in business. When I looked them up on the US Dept of Transportation website, they are inactive. Their website is down. Turns out the address is for a place where you rent office space. The telephone number still works. The company was incorporated in GA but it was dissolved in Oct 2022. The person who incorporated it was Regina Malul but she doesn't live at the address she listed and the email address she listed doesn't belong to her. They never registered the company in CA so there isn't any decent information to track them down if I wanted to file a legal claim. It's pretty clear they were a scam from the start and I was just one of the unlucky victims. Doing the move myself actually went pretty well. I would definitely do it again if I ever need to move between states. I could have saved myself a nice chunk of change if I had done that from the start instead of looking for a bargain moving company. I am glad that I was able to recover my items. Prosperity did damage my king-size bed frame when they took it apart for the move and it needed to be replaced since they had torn up the wood in several spots where the screws held things together. Based on the other reviews I have seen I feel lucky that most of the items were undamaged but that could also be since Prosperity didn't actually move them very far. If you are moving, don't use a broker and look up your moving company with the FMCSA website to make sure they are legit. Avoid moving companies that don't have a good track record or haven't been around for several years. If you run into problems with an established company, they will at least try to resolve things since they want to keep a good reputation. Bad moving companies are like a whack-a-mole game. They rip people off under one name and then close up and start again under a different name since the whole goal is to take your money instead of run a successful business. read more

My brother and I called around and decided to go with Almighty to move my moms house items from California to Iowa They told us they only go with the best movers. Well that's not the case in our move. It turned out to be a bait and switch. We were given one quote from Almighty and when the movers came they double the price. Telling us the quote we were given for the cubic feet would only handle my mom's boxes not her furniture. Even tho I gave Almighty the dimensions and added extra boxes. When they started packing they stacked the dishes on top of each other with nothing in between, trinkets next to each other with just wrapped paper around them. My brother and I both told them packing the items like this they would be broken. They came back with a smart response. We pack like this all the time and up until now we haven't broken anything. The head person asked my brother if he wanted to make a bet double or nothing that if they didn't break our items he would pay them double the quote and if they did break the items we wouldn't owe anything. My brother should have taken him up on it. Well with that being said when we got to Iowa and and they unloaded the truck first my dad bookcase was broken that he made. The boxes we started open had so many items broken. China by Rosenthal my dad purchased for my mom back in 1954 from Germany was like someone took a hammer to it. As you can see in the photos. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I had signed up with Southern Guarantee moving to move from AZ to UT and they contracted out Prosperity Moving for my move. To start off with our move was pushed by 5 days as they kept having truck issues. Once our items were picked up on 6/2/22 our original quote went up $2700 even though in our first contract it stated that once the truck was loaded federal regulation requires that the mover has reaffirmed the original estimate and cannot demand additional payment. They held our feet to the fire as they knew we needed to get out of the house as our closing date had already been pushed back due to their delays. Our requested drop off date was for 6/7/22. I followed up and was told by a customer service rep that we should have our items within 10 days. I got a call on fathers day saying that our items would be dropped off the next day. Monday came around I called and confirmed we were getting our items that day and no truck showed. I called Tuesday to follow up and was told that the truck broke down and was waiting to be fixed. This went on for a week. 2 weeks later I get a call from a new driver stating that he had half of our items and he just picked it up from the warehouse in AZ. So from my understanding our items were never picked up and there was no truck the first time. We got our first half and that driver stated that his boss said we should have the rest of our items in a couple days. We called almost daily to get an update as we had been without our stuff for a month at this point. We got a call from a driver that said he was picking up our items and was confirming the total and other information. The total he has was wrong as we had paid half when the first drop off happened. Driver got mad stated he wasn't taking the job and that we would never see our items. I called prosperity and let them know the issue, I had to keep calling to get updates and noone was letting me know what was happening to the rest of my stuff. I never recieved a call with a resolution from the manager as I was told I would. I found out the morning after that my stuff was coming and it was going to be at my home within the next hour. Boxes were smashed, TV broken, Mirror broken. They do not value their work and communication is not there. read more

WARNING: DO NOT USE THESE COMPANIES! This was the worst moving experience I have ever had. I went with a broker (Southern Guarantee) because the big companies like United would not go to the rural town I was in in Utah. Well, unfortunately I got assigned Prosperity Moving out of Elk Grove, CA. First Southern Guarantee grossly underestimate my load even though they had a box count and a list of furniture - and I even got rid of some of the things before Prosperity showed up. They told me I had only paid for "part" of their truck and charged me $3,000 more to fill up the truck. I think this is a typical scam with these people. Prosperity deposited a post-dated check (I had permission to do this) ahead of the date on the check, and when the bank refused to honor it, Prosperity took my things to an undisclosed warehouse and refused to deliver it for a month, even though they were fully paid the next day (the original date of the check). When I did finally get my stuff via a third party company called JJ Movers out of Seattle, most of the large pieces of furniture had damage, many precious things packed in bins with layers of paper and bubble wrap were broken, AND my dining table and a mirror are missing! They told me it might take a week to 'find' my dining table, but it's been longer than that, and still no sign of it. I have very little hope of getting it back. Do yourselves a favor. Pack your stuff yourself, put it in a U-haul, and do the move yourself if at all possible. I took a small U-haul myself with the balance of my things, and nothing was broken or damaged. only the stuff the 'Professionals' took. Prosperity makes sure that in order to take them to court, it has to be done in Los Angeles. Well, I live in Washington now. They know 95% of their angry and very dissatisfied customers are not going to fly/drive to L.A. for court. I would give these companies 0 stars if that were possible. DO NOT use Prosperity. It was such an awful experience. They lied about arrival times, were a day late, didn't bring a large enough truck, destroyed three pieces of furniture, scratching many others since they were not wrapped properly, broke securely wrapped items packed in the middle of boxes. They literally must have thrown boxes and furniture. WE had to go buy plastic wrap and a dispenser because they didn't bring enough to wrap even one dresser. One guy had an ankle monitor, one young woman did next to nothing. Those two worthless. The lead guy had to call a fourth person who knew what he was doing and they had to start over, emptying the half-filled truck. Arrival, confirmed Sunday afternoon, was to be Monday at 9:30 am; they arrived Tuesday at 2:00 pm, finally left at 8:30 pm. We had all boxes and almost all furniture lined up in the garage. They only had to move two dressers, three beds, and a sofa the house. We were nice, tipped them, fed them, only to find they treated our possessions with no care whatsoever. This is more of a warning than a review. This is not a moving company. These are a few individuals who hire other individuals to transport goods across state lines. There is no accountability and no professionalism. Like everyone else on here, they stole from me by over charging my move by over 100 cu ft. I had to leave furniture behind because I could not afford the quote they gave me on moving day. When the things finally arrived at my new apartment from CA to PA, it was in a U-Haul that was a 100 cu ft smaller than what I was charged for and did not account for the furniture left behind. The truck driver refused to let me look into the truck to see my things. Like most others on here, they did not deliver all of my things, they destroyed a very expensive television. I have tried to get my money back for the overcharge as I have evidence of the size of the truck they delivered my goods in. The reason I have it is because the people who showed up at my apartment were not movers, they were a truck driver and two young men he hired off Craig's List. Thankfully the young men they hired (who were not movers but two kids trying to start a small business) gave me their card. They gave me the receipt for the truck they rented. The truck driver who had my things and refused to let me see in the truck was very high on some sort of speed. He kept trying to find ways to get more money out of me. I was lucky that there were two parking attendants around the corner that I could ask the legality of double parking, he chased after me because he clearly did not want me talking to any sort of legal authority. Those two saved me from him trying to charge me for parking the truck over 100 ft from my front door. I should also say that I did not hire this company. I went through a broker who I thought was a mover. That company is just as corrupt as this one. That is a separate issue I am dealing with. They are called EnRoute and located in Florida. They have cost me thousands of dollars and 100s of hours of stress and misery. My move was in July and now in Sept I am still trying to get my money back. It is difficult because not only is this "company" located across country from me, but their actual headquarters are in Georgia. The brokers, EnRoute, are in Florida. The move was from California and now I am in Pennsylvania. I ask that if you have had issues with this company to please message me. As its victims we are located across the country and can do more together than we can alone. I don't think anyone hires them directly, so no one is going to come here to leave a review who was not defrauded by a broker and this company. I will be reporting them to the AG in Georgia and California, the broker in Florida and will go through all other channels to try and stop their fraud. This should be 0 stars. Don't use these movers. Didn't deliver all of my stuff, then lied to me and ignored me for THREE WEEKS saying they couldn't find my stuff - even though my driver had confirmed he located my stuff in the warehouse! They then didn't deliver when they said they would, I called every day and they kept saying they'd 'check with dispatch' and get back to me. Never did. Finally (5 days later) they told me the truck broke down and that's why they didn't come... And then all my missing stuff was delivered completely damaged. I am so frustrated with the entire situation. I also received a box belonging to another customer, which they refused to help with. I was luckily able to find the other customer and she was also missing a lot of items! I knew they were sketchy when no one at customer service will tell you their name or even say the company name. This is a follow up on my previous review. As of 10/07 we still haven't received our goods yet. Still getting the run around on when it will ship! Max Martinez is a supposed supervisor and is the rudest person to deal with. Threatened to block my wife's phone number today since she asked him to hush up and listen to the problem she is having. These people could care less about moving. They have been in breach of contract since 19 Sept and there is no hurry to solve the issue. I moved my 90 y/o mother with this moving company. She went through a broker out of Florida called New Leaf. I was warned about doing business with brokers but she decided to go with them. When you use a broker they really have no idea of what the final $$ cost will be as they are not able to access what is actually being moved other than a brief description. My mom went with them because the price was decent. Buyer beware. The day of the move they showed up at her storage unit and were going to charge her double of what she'd already paid to the broker. When you need to move there is no time to deal with this so they have you. The foreman of the move threatened twice not to do the move during all this - he told his guys to stop packing while we were trying to decide what we could do. My mom's goods were then taken to another location and unloaded until they could get a truck that was going to where my mom's move was. So her goods went through another packing. Finally when the goods were scheduled to arrive two guys showed up at 9:00 pm and unloaded the truck until after 1:00 pm. Another thing is that you can't pay with a certified check or money order. You have to give them cash. Once we started unpacking we were astounded to see so much damage. Broken lamps, glass broken out of hutches, nics on furniture and her piano was destroyed. My mom didn't take out extra insurance unfortunately. This now led to filing a claim with a third party carrier they use. I went online and completed the lengthy form which asks for value of items and photos of the damage. It took me 4 hours to complete. I sent it in and they acknowledged receipt. A follow-up email told me I failed to include a scanned copy of the moving contract (they'd already been provided with the movers contract number prior to my starting this process). I went to scan it to them but they wanted me to start the process all over again to include it! I made several attempts to contact someone but they obviously don't speak English well and they gave me the run around. They make it extremely difficult so they don't have to pay out anything for all the damage they cause!! Please do yourself a favor and don't go near this fraudulent moving company. read more

Antique cabinets were not properly wrapped in blankets and secure. all items in paper. some bubble wrap. Broke beveled glass, boxes, dresser legs, chipped paint on chairs and dressers. My huge error, but i was discouraged to pay for insurance. Actually, do not believe they had the legal paperwork for property damage. i was charge $5000. for packing. Prosperity unpacked small van, left at a loading site. contracted with a big rig mover who packed again the truck. I was charged another 5000.00 for delivery. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I recently moved from California to DC. I worked with a moving broker and they contracted my move out to Prosperity (separate note on brokers: do NOT use a broker either, but that's a review for another time). Prosperity only accepts cash payments, which should have been a red flag from the start that they only care about taking your money - the quality of service or your items be damned! Let's start with item pickup. This part actually mostly went okay, though I did see the movers handling some of my items a bit roughly. They didn't use any moving blankets for any of my more fragile stuff. Instead, they essentially used wrapping paper. Look - my stuff isn't *super* fancy, so I let it slide. Probably should've spoken up, but I was just happy that the movers came when they said they would. I'd read some horror stories online about movers not showing up at all. During the move, I was presented with a bunch of paperwork and felt pressured to just sign and not read anything. I tried to read what was in the documents but was rushed through it. Moving on to delivery, I was expecting a rough ETA of mid-August for my items. When I hadn't heard from Prosperity at that time, I called them to see if there was an updated ETA. I understand that things might not get to me exactly on the date that was first quoted. I just wanted a general timeframe so that I could plan to be at home. One person said I'd get a call from the driver "soon, in a few days" and another person said "we don't give updates on weekends"....um, okay?! Finally, I heard from the driver with a delivery estimate, but then started to hear conflicting things about payment methods. I called numerous times and spoke to numerous people to clarify what their payment policy is. When I tell you that I got different answers depending on who I spoke to...AND I got hit with a surprise $500 fee because large trucks "can't be in DC." Not sure what that means. But more surprisingly, I'd always said I was moving to DC when I first booked the move. It's not like I sprung it on them last minute. If there was going to be an extra charge, why not tell me that upfront or incorporate it into my quote? I had to fight with the company about it. They lowered the cost but didn't budge entirely. Luckily, most of my things came intact which was a HUGE relief. But, a lot of my big items are a little bit "off" shall we say. My work desk is wobbly, like they manhandled it during the move. My side tables are also wobbly. My armchair feels like it might fall apart at any second. It's also dirty. My dresser almost came apart but she's hanging on somehow. Technically these things aren't broken so I doubt Prosperity will do anything about it, and honestly, I don't have the mental energy to fight with them about it. Just counting my blessings that my things did actually arrive without *too* much damage. TLDR: DON'T use these guys. you'll only end up with headaches and a dent in your bank account. read more

The day they came to pick up our items they called and moved the pick up time up 3 hours. Then when they showed up all (3) guys seemed to lazily pack things up. They claimed they needed to use more space in the moving truck and charged us more. We were then promised/lied to about when our items would be arriving in our new home. My husband had booked flights to meet the truck a week after they picked our items up. Well they once again moved the delivery date up so that we could not physically get there in time to meet the truck. My husband arrived 2 days later to our brand new house to find they had chipped the paint on the door. This moving company was HORRIBLE. They upcharged me the day of the move by well over $1000, even though I didn't have anything more than what was on my inventory list. When my items were delivered, many of my furniture pieces were badly damaged, several expensive items are missing all together and many broken damaged pieces in boxes and tubs (that were all brand new for this move) because all of the boxes were damaged and even several of the hard plastic tubs were missing pieces. Even the top of my fridge was dented. They don't care to take care of your things so if you would like your items not broken or damaged or just lost all together (we are missing several collectable items), and be charged A LOT of money, don't use anyone that associates with this company read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I am looking for the owner of items not belonging to me which were unloaded into my storage unit in Troy, IL on Sept. 12, 2022. Prosperity Moving and Storage held my Life's belongings hostage for over 2 1/2 months, then delivered my load (minus several items) with another person's belongings (their entire 2 bdrm home, from the looks of it) in a rented Penske box truck. Movers refused to unlock truck for me to identify my load, I had to pay cash for them to open truck before unloading. Many violations of "contract". Please look at photos to see if this was your load. Please contact me if you are looking for information about your load because it isn't where they say it is. Prosperity is a family-run scam operation in cahoots with various "Brokers" who pass themselves off as moving companies, also probably family members. I estimate the truck had three loads on it, one which was delivered at a location somewhere before arriving at my location. I refused the items that were not mine, and now I am sorry I did not keep them for the owner. Please contact me if you are missing your load or you recognize items in photos. I have filed formal complaints with various gov't agencies and BBB, and Attorney Generals in all states where they operate. You must take action and be proactive if this scam operation of Brokers and Hijackers is to be stopped. Terrible, terrible, terrible company! 7-14 business days turned to 2 months before delivery was made. Not all items were delivered. Parts of items that were disassembled were not delivered. Charge you extra for changing the size of truck for delivery, but if they had checked online as to the road situation they would have known. That's probably part of their scam. I would give this zero stars if possible. First, they doubled the estimate the general contractor provided. They claim to have moved 600 cubic feet with of my things despite the fact that all my things resided in a less than half full 10x10x10 storage unit. Second, they did not show up on time and forced me to take time off work. Third, this company lost thousands of dollars of my stuff. Heirloom baseball cards, Nintendo switches, Meta Oculus and more. They won't reimburse me for all losses; instead, they had a broker negotiate a settlement in October 2022 for $75. I have called five times to collect the $75 from them and they won't pay. Prosperity Moving damaged items and lost boxes filled with items that unfortunately are out of print and not replaceable. The guys that came out appeared to be hard working. They wrapped and packaged a number of items well. They used blankets and bubble wrap and large cartons. The problems are many. They guys that delivered the items (not the same as the ones that packaged and loaded) destroyed many items. It doesn't matter if the items were packaged well if you do not strap in the load and drive from Los Angeles to Richland Washington with stuff sliding around every which way. The men that unloaded brought in 2 boxes from another stop and when it was pointed out they refused to load them back on their truck. Next our stuff... As we unboxed stuff we found damaged art work and broken sheets of glass from a coffee table. Our iMac won't boot. It is looking for it's hard rive. Mac users get that once that happens because it was knocked around so much the computer is done, finished, dead. My monitor had been pulled apart and back panel lost. We are missing a wardrobe box of expensive clothing, a box of out of print tarot cards and books that have very sentimental value to them and stuff like an Omega juicer that cost $400. Are Prosperity doing anything about it? Probably not. The start of the story is that I foolishly booked through a broker New Leaf moving. Oh I didn't realize it was a broker but it was. They quoted $5,000 and then bait and switched to $10,000. I paid a deposit of almost $5,000 but learned from Prosperity that Prosperity doesn't receive any of that money. They proceeded to requite to $10,000 and I had a choice pay them or start over. I had to be out in 48 hours of my current lease and had plane tickets to fly to Washington state with 5 cats, my husband and two people I hired to escort my cats so they could be on the plane. I am not holding Prosperity responsible for the lies New Leaf told or their business bait and switch practices. I am holding Prosperity responsible for losing my stuff, not allowing me to select insurance for the value (not an option) and the damage of valuable artwork. If this company cared at all they would call the other loads of household goods and ask for my stuff and check the storage units where they unload and store stuff between moves. Are they doing this? I doubt it. They think they can pay me nothing for the grief and stress they have caused us. The loss of property with sentimental value can't be replaced so easily and certainly not by people that could care less. Best not to do business with these people. If they show up turn them away. The worst moving company, DO NOT USE!!!, first of all they came with a truck not large enough to accomidate our move, secondly they said they would be driving straight through to Arizona, it took them 2 weeks to get there, they said they wouldent put our stuff in storage they did put our stuff in storage, they sent a 40 footer with two or more other loads and left several large item behind because the truck was so full they could have not loaded them. then after 8 months they offer $75.00 for at least $2000 loss settelment so sad!! read more

BEWARE OF FALSE ADS FOR MOVERS, OR MOVING STORAGE Make sure they are not a Broker. How this company is still in business I do not know. I had a long-distance move from CA to NC. After the usual "no worries, we'll take good care of you," it was a move from hell. I called New Leaf Movers. The ad on the site did not say Mover Broker. They subcontracted me to Prosperity Moving and Storage. Their packing expertise is appalling. No protective wrap for objects of art. It was as if the packers have no clue. They were put in boxes with shoes, lamp shade, miscellaneous with nothing separating items. There was no rhyme, or reason, to what boxes contained. No contents, name, or room. Canned goods and food were used to stabilize appliances. A whole closet of jackets and food is missing. I was told they will locate what is missing. They got their money. Now it is when we get a chance. Movers are busy with other jobs. Customer Service does not know how to serve. It seems like it is "not my Job." That is what CS should be. After giving New Leaf a deposit of nearly $3k, via Zell, another $3K was added as an Administration fee. I am not complaining of the cost, as much as the carnage of broken art items I have had for more than 40 years, as well as broken/damaged lamps and shades, chipped/cracked furniture. Their Moving Claims is yet another joke. They cover themselves financially quite well. No liability on their end. It all goes back to Prosperity. I was packed on 7/11/22 and asked to hold 2 days for an important appointment I had in NC. I was still in storage on 7/27/22. I did get most of my things on 7/29/22. Each time I now call regarding a missing item, or breakage, one would think they opened up the red sea just for me. Communication is not their forte. I find out on a Sunday, the carrier wants money order, or cash. I go to the USPS, and I get a text from the carrier that I am being charged an $85.00 wait fee. What waiting fee? I dd not tell them to wait. They were waiting for the money prior to delivery. The last time I moved I paid after delivery and went over a bill of lading. There was no bill of lading this time After Prosperity, I was given to a carrier from New York. They left a mess of furniture paper, etc. in the hall. I was told they are carriers. They only deliver. I had paper from my door to the neighbor, up to the ceiling. It filled 10 huge black garbage container bags, and several hours of clean-up after delivery. I got my income taxes (5 years past, and 2021) delivered to me from Elizabethtown, Kentucky. The file was opened and retaped, and sent to me via UPS, with no name. What fun! If I had not walked to the second bedroom to ask, "where are my two bookcases?" They were on the truck with someone else's furnishings. I was afraid to open boxes, worried about what I might find. TLDR: USE A U-HAUL OR A POD. NEVER USE A MOVING COMPANY. OR JUST NEVER MOVE EVER. I can't even call this company a scam artist because that term implies some level of higher-order thought and intelligence in order to concoct a scam in order to steal. This company just runs on total incompetence and irresponsibility. Also, in the moving industry, no fault can be pinned to anyone because each piece in the puzzle is contracted from someone else, and the drivers/middleman shippers/trucks are also all contracted. No one is an actual employee of anyone else in the entire moving company industry, so no one is responsible for anything, but the customer still pays full charge. Anyway, I had the unfortunate luck of having my move contracted out to Prosperity Moving after arranging a move via En-Route Relocation Services, which I learned was a broker. You have no choice or knowledge of what company a broker will hire to do the actual move. Both En-Route and Prosperity continually told me the average time of delivery is 7-14 business days. Pickup actually went fine, comparing the pickup versus the rest of the experience was like living in two different worlds. The truck and crew gave me a 2 day notice for pickup as stated in their contract, and showed up during the time frame given by the driver. A miracle. The 14 business days passes and I start calling customer service to see what the ETA might be. They inform me that it's "busy season" and they are behind (one, could you just tell people that in the beginning to set a reasonable expectation? Two, from reading the rest of these reviews, "busy season" seems to be all times of the year). I continue calling once every few days to check in. Finally after TWO FULL MONTHS they have my shipment ready for delivery (you do get compensated a *whopping* [that's sarcastic] $20 per day for every day past 30 business days). Gets worse from there. They're supposed to give you a 48 hour AND a 24 hour notice from the driver on your delivery date. Driver barely calls me within 24 hours, and three different days he cancels on me the day-of after I cleared my schedule to be available at the date/time discussed (cancelling on customers for whatever reason is also fine per their contract btw). He doesn't even call me ahead of time to tell me he's can't make it that day. I wait around for an hour after the delivery time before having to call the driver myself, only for him to tell me he can't make it after all. When was he planning to inform me? They also have no concept of appropriate business hours for a disruptive, loud service such as moving furniture into an apartment building. On one day the driver wanted to deliver at 10:30 PM, and I told him that is not acceptable. Also, in their contract, they get to charge you an extra couple hundred at the delivery to use a smaller truck to deliver your items. The standard truck they use is a massive 18-wheeler, (I know because I watched these morons get themselves stuck trying to back this thing out around a street corner. It involved police, getting caught on a tree, and hitting a parked car) and if your street cannot accommodate this massive truck, you get to pay extra for them to use a "shuttle." I live on the corner of two flat, straight, 2 lane suburban streets that are pretty typical for my neighborhood. Do they do their homework and use google street view like the rest of us to gauge if the massive truck can fit down your street? Nope. Because my street "has overhanging trees," I had to wait another 9 hours for them to come back with a smaller truck, for which I had to pay $400 extra. I had a fairly small move, little bit less than a studio equivalent. I had only 7 pieces of actual furniture and the rest were smaller boxes of belongings, decor, kitchen stuff, etc. Out of only 7 pieces of furniture, they managed to COMPLETELY LOSE 2 OF THEM. They lost a small chair and an ottoman. Get out your calculators everyone, that's a 28.5% large item loss rate. They also disassembled other furniture on pickup (without letting me know) but failed to keep the re-assembly tools. On unpacking, I found my desk's legs are missing, so now I have a desk-top just sitting on the floor. The vanity made it with all the legs, but they neglected to keep all the nuts/bolts/nails with it, so I can't put it back together. I will be calling yet again on Monday to complain about the missing items. I'm guessing they'll tell me to file a claim, it will take 6+ months for them to "process" my claim and then offer me $50 for two completely missing pieces of furniture, the lost pieces of other furniture, and my time spent trying to replace bolts and rebuild the currently unusable desk and vanity. Well I guess I will start with the pick up date which was supposed to be May 30 to June 2. June 3 after a lot of back and forth with New Leaf Moving the movers showed up at 6:45 in the evening and they had been drinking heavily. I was very uncomfortable letting them load my mom's items but we had to be out by midnight. They loaded my mom's items on June 3. Since this time the items have been in storage in California. It is now the 16th of August and they still don't know when they will have a truck coming to Texas so that they can deliver my mom's items. I have had many excuses from them, they charged us $3000 more that what was quote, and they are very bad at communication. I am not sure when we will get my moms stuff or if we every will. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY OR NEW LEAF MOVING. They are as unhelpful as the moving company. At this point the moving company is loosing money because it costs them $20 a day since it is past the 30 days. My mom is elderly and has stuff that she absolutely needs at this point. She packed it because she didn't think it would take 2 and a half months to get her things. read more

It is a horrible story that doesn't seem to end. First I did not hire this company. It apparently was contracted out by All Mighty Relocation Services, which is another horrible company. That story will be in my review of them, Colton and Orlando. They were supposed to arrive at my house between 8-10. About 9 am I noticed a U-haul truck parked around the corner. At 10 a man knocked at my door and said he was the movers. He sat in his truck for an hour. I was concerned that there was no identification on the truck. But he handed me the moving form with the name of Prosperity Moving. They then continued to do the moving. I had to repeatedly show them what was to go, but after they left I found they left behind pictures I had told them to take as well as a cupboard in the garage was left untouched even though I had told them everything in the cupboards was to go. They taped my screen door so far open to a post that they tore off the door hinge. Then when I got to my new place I called them and gave them the address and date they could deliver. When they didn't show up, nor a call. I called and was told they were waiting for a full shipment and would be leaving on the 7/23, 24. I called again on the 25 and was told it would be 1-2 weeks from the date I gave them. I asked just where was my furniture. I was told it was still sitting in a storage in Simi Valley, California. I am now in Virginia. The 2 "gentlemen " I spoke to were not only rude, but the supervisor said the contract I signed stated they would delivery it anytime after 1-2 weeks once I gave them the delivery date. I told him I did not sign something with that . So he said I'll send you the copy. Well the contract said no such thing. So I'm not sure I will ever see my things again. This company is by far the worst moving company ever. It is a nightmare that we wish never happened. My family was looking for a moving company in Reno, Nv to relocate to Iowa on 5/30/22.Prosperity moving company are truly scammers and I hope that this helps anyone that is looking for a moving company to stay away from them. This was our first time dealing with a moving company and so far, the experience has been a headache. First, they came over an hour late to our set appointment time. Second, they stated that we had to pay over $3000 more because they charge by the square foot of the items. Not only did we have to pay more money but they did not pack everything that was to go on the truck. We had to leave behind numerous expensive items behind because of their lack of packing and organizing skills. Third, we did not hear any form of communication from them when it was time to deliver our things. They felt that we were harassing them about when they would deliver our things. We had a set deadline to have our things delivered in two weeks from the day of pickup. All we got were excuses from them not having a driver, to finally them lying about that they have 30days to deliver our things by law. We were traveling with our 8-month baby and dog and had to sleep on an air mattress for weeks because we did not have our things. We also had to spend unnecessary extra money on items that we already had but had no choice to buy again because we had nothing. When you complain to the manager who seems to be clueless and unconcern about the situation. All we got were more excuses that they are trying their best to get a driver and that we should calm down. 30 days elapsed and they finally call us with more excuses this time they ask for more money because they can't get the semi-truck in our complex. We have two entrance way to our apartment and they can easily come through our back patio on the side street for easier access when it comes down to the higher furniture. We told them that several times they refused to listen and instead turn it on us that we refused for them to deliver our things. They ended up dropping our things in a storage unit and refused to give us the location of our things until we paid the remaining balance that they are to receive once they delivered our things. We ended up paying the money because we were so frustrated at this point and tired of dealing with them and all we wanted was our things. We had some meaningful and keepsake items that we could not live without or else we would have just let them keep the items and start all over. At this point we were dealing with them for over a month and just wanted it to end. They delivered our things on July,15. They finally gave us the location and had the nerve to get mad and complain that we are charging them more money for having to put our things in a storage unit instead of delivering the items. We were so pissed. I thought that was absolutely ridiculous considering we were out of pocket thousands of dollars and its ok for them to lose $60.00 for a storage unit. When we arrived to the storage unit, we had to wait another 2-3 days because they took the key with them. They had to mail it to the storage agent and verify that we paid for their crap of a service. Upon looking at our items our large fireplace was broken and my collection of snow globes. A tv anchor for mounting the tv was missing. My husband was able to fix the fireplace but the snow globes were all ruined. Thankful that was all that was damage or else that would be more money. We then had to pay another moving company to get our things out and to deliver our item 2 days later. read more
