We had a great experience moving my mother in-law from her home in the Bay Area to an assisted living apartment in Rocklin. Brian did a good job coordinating the estimate and logistics, which included getting his crew and truck from south Sacramento to the Bay Area early enough to get packed, back to Rocklin, set up furniture in the apartment and drop off the equivalent of 12 large boxes at a storage facility, all by 7 pm. To do this, he recommended adding a 3rd person to the crew, which ended up being essential for success. On the day of the move, the crew left promptly at 7 am. They communicated on arrival at 9:15 when they departed, but traffic issues pushed the arrival to 10:15. They overcame this with the additional crew member, and were loaded up by 12:30 and on their way back to Rocklin. We found NO damage to any of the items. The entire move was well organized, with a crew that was polite, and personable. We heartily recommend this company. read more

A bit late in writing this review. Our move was done in early October. Really good experience for a local move. Spoke with Brian and he explained the various services and cost. We were able to schedule after 3 days on a Sunday. He mentioned that the moving truck will be at our house around 8:45am. On the day of move, I got a.call at exactly 8am that they are leaving for our house and should arrive in 45 minutes. The team of 3 movers - Prince, Jesse and Andre (Brian's son) were very meticulous. They took inventory and started the process of loading. Furniture items were properly wrapped and loaded with care. They loaded the truck for 1st trip in under 2 hours, unloaded and setup in 1 hour at the new destination. The 2nd trip was a shorter one and the entire move was complete by around 3pm They made sure all the items were accounted for. Also reinstalled washer and dryer. A dedicated move. Initially hired two people but then added one more to make the move quicker with a 26' truck. On time arrival. Same day delivery with about 200 miles travel distance. Movers are hit and miss. I'm glad to publicize that A Simple Way to Move - did just that, they made the choice simpler. I contacted them over Yelp; they were responsive and provided me a quote. I wasn't 100% sure that I was moving the day I scheduled the movers so I was glad to find out that they didn't charge for rescheduling. A few days before the move, I received an email from the movers providing tips to make the move easier including moving the boxes to the garage - which I did. They were a half hour late but it's ok, when anyone moves, there's always something to do while waiting. Apparently someone called in sick so the the supervisor filled in. Two movers showed up with a large truck with blankets. They were friendly and eager to get going. During the move, they were polite and careful of the furniture. I provided them water, soda, and pizza for their break. It's unfortunate that not more people do not provide stuff like this to their movers. Room for improvement would be to provide a better estimate both before the move and during the move. I was way over my estimate even though I did not move everything from my previous residence. They had to bring in a 3rd person since they started to get tired half way through the move. I asked several times how they were doing on time and everything and they said they were fine. I even used my SUV and car to transport items back and forth several times to help keep us in the budget. I think a ceiling price would have been better so I could have budgeted better. I wanted to leave them a good size tip but I could not because the higher cost cut into that amount too. They deserve my 4 stars because I would definitely recommend them to others. read more

One of the pod companies left me in a lurch and I had to scramble to get another company. I also needed someone to help me move and I took a chance on this company. Not only was the owner of the business able to provide movers within 24 hours but the movers also helped me pack a few things that I was unable to do. Josh and Tyler were the gentleman that were sent to pack my furniture and boxes into a trailer. They actually arrived one minute before actual start time of 8 AM and finished within the timeframe that I had agreed upon. I was impressed. I was more impressed when I saw how well Josh and Tyler were packing the trailer. These guys were amazing. They were totally professional and knew what they were doing. No they were not the cheapest movers in town but you get what you pay for and I would use these guys again if I was not moving out of state! I wasn't sure what to expect and I was prepared to babysit and direct the entire time. I never needed to do this. No standing around! These guys were constantly moving. All three of them were polite. Even told me they would fix my dining chair for me (when they picked it up to move it to their truck) they noticed a leg was loose, pointed this out and said they will take care of it for me. I'm not sure what happened here. All the reviews are 5 star which should have made me more suspect. First off: NO MASKS, which is ridiculous. I wish I had seen previous reviews where manager states that employees do not work sick and don't wear masks for health reasons. Are they tested then? Asymptomatic spread is a real threat. Background: I've moved 16 times in ten years, across 8 states. Guys showed up at 3pm. Took 3 hours to load up the truck (900sq ft 1 bedroom apt on second floor), which is longer than any other previous move ive experienced. Guys were not careful with our stuff. Things would fall over, stuff was dragged on the floor (see pictures) and now the hardwood at the apartment is scratched all the way down the hallway. Sent these pictures to the manager mid move and he said the guys used a dolly. Okay, then how are there clearly scratch marks that end at the feet of the desk? Got to our house 3 hours 20min later and we were looking at a big bill if they took three more hours, so we stepped in and helped. Got the unload done in 1hour 40min so 6 hours total. Here's the problem, we don't mind helping, but masks are needed. If we didn't help, I have no idea how long this would have taken. Probably at least another 1-1.5 hours. To his credit, manager said they would cover cost to fix floors. We will see. I've told my landlord about the damage and to let me know. Will update accordingly. read more

We needed help moving into a new home, and we are pleased with the service provided. Great movers! Services: 4 stars We hired moving services only, deciding to pack ourselves. The movers arrived early with a large truck. They were very quick to load up, less than 2 hours for a 3 bedroom house. Our move wasn't far, so it took no time at all to unload. Nothing was damaged. The movers provided blankets and cling wrap for all items that needed it. Part of the service is dismantling and reassembling furniture. The movers also hooked up our washer without asking, which was a nice gesture. However, the bed and armoire bolts were left loose, and the washer's hot and cold lines were crossed. We could have done these things ourselves. Nothing was broken, though, so it was easy to fix. If we hadn't caught it right away, though, it would have caused issues. That was our only complaint. Movers: 4 stars The movers were very friendly and efficient. They packed up and unloaded everything in record time. Nothing was damaged or misplaced. They do go very fast, though. So, you want to make sure you are in constant communication with them. As stated above, my only complaint was the reassembly part at the new house. Price: 5 stars Based on the quotes we received, I would say they provide good quality service for the price you are paying. Insurance is included, and you can opt to upgrade insurance if you are worried about fragile items. The owner gave us good instructions for packing items properly. Simple. I did request on Yelp based on all the rave reviews. I knew Yelp was going to send it to a bunch of others as well. I put in all the information of what needed to be moved, which are mainly the heavy items such as mattresses, washer, dryer. Everything else is already packed in boxes and ready just to be moved.
