The estimator, Adam, showed up on time and was courteous to start, but it quickly became clear he was trying to take advantage of me with me being a woman (that's how I viewed it, at least). He was super pushy and tried to get me to agree to have Earlybird do the work on our panel ASAP. I told him I would need to think about it and talk about it with my partner before making any decisions, which I would do with any large investment like this. He kept pushing though and trying to scare me into agreeing to do the work right then and there. He wouldn't seem to take no for an answer. He'd say things like, "well if you commit to this now, I can give you 5, 10 % off..." I stood my ground though, I got him to leave. I truly do feel like he wouldn't have talked to me this way if I were a man or had a "husband" present with me. We ended up hiring another electrician that was not pushy at all, informative, and treated me with respect.
