I Googled the "best breakfast in Dodge City" and this place came up. A mile away from my hotel, it was an easy choice. I saw the burrito on the menu, and the friendly host explained that it wasn't a breakfast burrito per se, but that they could make it with eggs and other suitable ingredients. It took a few minutes--not a problem--but came out soon enough, packaged to go as requested. I got in my car ready to hit the road, but wanted a bite or two while it was still hot. My oh my, was this perfect. Not too tight, but filled up nicely. I took a few bites and swear I wanted to eat the whole thing right there, but used restraint. I drove maybe an hour or so west and saw a rest area, where I inhaled the rest of it. So, so good! I don't have breakfast burritos often, but I've certainly tried a few since, and nothing has come close. I was annoyed for not grabbing a pic of it for the Gram. Now I'm doubly annoyed for not having one to share here... This was from a 12-day trip through five states with a number of fine meals, but that burrito is my No. 1 recommendation of all the places I visited.

I walked in and it looked like a very small grocery store. There was a counter with a hot bar and containers of possibly some food. I couldn't really tell what was in the containers but it wasn't very appealing. There were no tables and chairs. There was a woman standing further back from the counter doing some sort of prep at another counter. I just stood around for a few minutes trying to figure out what's going on. Finally, the woman walked over to me and asked something like what do you want? I replied that I had found this place on Yelp as a restaurant and asked if they served food because I hoped to get some from net to go. She said no. That was it. She walked off back to the counter where she had been standing. It was a really weird experience. Obviously, I left. I sat in the parking lot to look up the Yelp page again. I saw the reviews are older, so thought maybe the place had changed, but the sign still says the same name and has photos of the dishes they supposedly serve. Apparently, not to me. Maybe she didn't like the way I looked but it was one of the weirdest and rudest experiences I've had in a long time. I think the food would have been bad from sitting under a heat lamp for so long anyway. I'm probably fortunate I didn't eat from here. As I was leaving after finding somewhere else to go, a man drove up in a truck, parked, and walked in. I didn't wait around to see if he came out with anything. If you are in Dodge City, I'd skip this place. I'm not sure if you'd get any food.
