Lack of location signs on outer part of the garage,
    CS L.

I think this garage is not too hard to found your car as many others commented before, but their system needs a lot of improvement. Being park on a large garage it's better take a picture of the nearest location sign (example: L1 ROW 70 NORTH GARAGE). However, when parking near the outer part of the garage, there is lack of such signs. Those signs are only found on the inner part of the garage. Base on others comments, those payment machines are not working, which I experienced. I tried look for all those machines on 1st, 2nd and 3rd floor but all post the out of service sign. I stopped a mall security ask how should I pay and she said I can pay at the exit so I attempted to do so. However, by the time I move my car to the exit, I saw the exit gate had already opened and a staff was standing next to it, so we simply exited without pay. Looks like beside their machines are not working consistently, they are lack of communication also.

The first floor consists of small eccentric shops and cafes while the upper floors have been converted into studio apartments. (I am entranced by the idea of residing there - just think, I can leave my apartment in my Jammies and walk downstairs to a cafe for my morning coffee.). A great place to browse the shops for unique gifts and a bite.

We were staying in a hotel across the street and needed to get some Providence souvenirs. I looked up gift shops/souvenir places and it told me to head to one of the stores in The Arcade. Walking in, you could tell this place was extremely beautiful once. The architecture is incredible and there is a lot of potential here. People comment that it's underutilized and they aren't wrong. Even though the place is bright and sunny and feels safe, there's also a feeling of abandonment and dereliction that I just couldn't shake. There aren't many stores to shop at or places to eat at. There's one restaurant that seems to be doing well, we saw people at the whole time we were in Providence, but that was it. Hopefully, soon, more life will be injected into this place because it is very beautiful and historical and has a lot of potential.

Back then, it felt like the place to be. The mall was packed, new stores seemed to open every month, and there was an energy to it that was hard to miss. It's definitely not what it once was. Over the years, plenty of stores have come and gone, and there have been periods where it felt like the mall was struggling to find its footing. There have also been times when security seemed a little too hands-off for my liking. That said, I think Providence Place may finally be turning a corner. The mall is still kept in good condition, the common areas are clean, and management seems to be making an effort to keep the property looking presentable. I also appreciate the free two-hour parking, which is becoming a rarity these days and makes quick trips downtown much more convenient. What keeps me coming back is that there is still a lot of potential here. My biggest wish for the future would be to see a food market added on the first floor. Something along the lines of a local public market with specialty vendors, prepared foods, coffee, and local products would bring a lot of life to the building and give people another reason to visit beyond traditional retail. Maybe it's nostalgia talking, but I'd like to see Providence Place succeed. It has been part of Rhode Island's landscape for a long time, and while it may not be in its glory days anymore, I think there are signs that better days could be ahead.
