When we got to the top it was fun to look around the city and see the ocean. Lots of history here and we are so grateful for the memories made. A parking attendant recommended renting a wheelchair from the chamber of commerce and it made our trip! The people working in the office were beyond friendly and quickly helped Us obtain a wheelchair. We made a small donation for the use of the service. My grandma had an amazing day and was able to see everything she wanted. She had a permanent smile on her face(sadly something we dont see too often anymore) and had a blast. Thank you so much to the Ptown chamber of commerce for having this service. It meant so much to my family. God bless

Had an amazing visit to the Highland Lighthouse. We were able to get a tour on May 1st, the first…read moreday they were open for the season. When you arrive you can buy your ticket in the gift shop. The gift shop had a great selection of items to choose from and we picked up a lovely print. Tickets were $10 per adult. The tour takes you to the top of the lighthouse which requires a lot of climbing and fitting into narrow spaces. Our tour guide Ken was the best! He helped to enhance our experience with his knowledge of the lighthouse and the historical information shared. He was also very conscious of our safety and made me feel at ease despite how narrow some of the climbing areas got. He was happy to chat with us and answered any questions we had. Highland lighthouse is the oldest and tallest lighthouse on Cape Cod. The views are absolutely worth the climb, as well as all of the historical background. Well worth the $10. Happy we made it in time for the last tour of the day. It was a one of a kind experience.

There are 4 Town-Owned cemeteries in Provincetown…read more The oldest is the Winthrop Street Cemetery which is located between Winthrop and Court Street. This review is for the Alden Street Cemetery, established in 1800 which is sub-divided into several sections - Old, New and Upper (Alden A & Alden B). Across Cemetery Road is the Gifford Cemetery which was established in 1818. Hamilton Cemetery, established in 1833, sits next to the Gifford Cemetery and is the smallest with only 92 plots. The Alden St Cemetery has many sites dating from the 1800s and even some from the 1700s. Of course it is still an active cemetery so there are sites from recent years. For those into historical sites, you could see stones where people's lives were in-scripted with the years, months and days...some just even said Mother or Father....some were for people in the military or seamen.

Go back in…read moretime I love Wellfleet, it's my favorite part of the Cape. We have been coming here for years, owned property here and still have friends we frequently visit. Surprisingly it really hasn't changed that much over the years. Sure the traffic on Rt. 6 is still hellish during the summer but then it was always pretty bad. Most of it is heading toward P-Town and just going through Wellfleet. The town does get crowded during the summer but you can still find quiet places to get away. The center of town is about as quaint and New England as it gets. A few little stores, a couple of restaurants and a beautiful church. What really makes Wellfleet special is that most of it was left undeveloped.. Just one lovely place after another that was left pristine and wild. Most of the entire east side is dunes and beach. Wellfleet is a great place for walking along a lonely beach, biking on the trails or kayaking in the harbor. If you want some excitement P-Town is only a short drove to the north. If you want to go out to the islands Hyannis and the ferries aren't too far away, although in the summer it might take a while to actually get there. Like most of the Cape Wellfleet is the nicest in the off season when it becomes quiet, lonely and very, very special.

During the summer we only come by boat so road rage doesn't set in but then we're faced with the hordes of tourists in town. It's still a terrific place to be but the fall is something extra special. It was a gorgeous, sunny and warm day for a walk around the picture-perfect New England center of town, with plenty of time and space to wander into some of the shops and galleries. We are boaters so we like checking out the harbor and looking around at other people's boats. There were still plenty of them to see down at the town pier. The beach is beautiful and ideal now for a peaceful walk with the incredible dunes behind you. The pace was really relaxing, unhurried and with comfortable temperatures. This is a great town for walking and biking. It's so worth a trip down this time of year. Go if you can.

We walked the area, beautiful park with different sculptures and views of the bay. We loved all the different seals statues located throughout the area. There are some gift shops and places to eat. You can see the Mayflower ll on the water (optional tour), we did not do. The rock itself is protected by a fence and a pavilion which is nice & makes it stand-out more. The rock is not huge so building around it definitely adds to the experience. There was a Park Ranger on-site who answered any questions that visitors had.

A wonderful new…read morelibrary I tend to like the old, quaint and historical libraries because most of the new ones tend to be functional and useful boxes built by the lowest bidder. Most certainly do what they were designed to do but have a boring and pedestrian atmosphere. Places to work and not relax. The new Truro Library, built in 1999, shows that it is possible to build a new library with plenty of charm, character and originality. The library holds about 25,000 items, which isn't really a lot, but has many cool open spaces to sit and stretch out and a great soaring ceiling that makes the entire library seem much larger than it is. The librarians were very friendly and explained how the first library was built way back in 1894 and for a long time the town of Truro had two very small libraries. Finally in 1999 the books and materials from the two tiny libraries were combined into this one beautiful facility. Cool local artwork decorates some of the walls and a fine community room is located downstairs. It's nice to see that attractive new libraries are still being built. Perhaps not as opulent and extravagant as some of the incredible structures that were completed at the turn of the century, but still distinctive and captivating enough to be appreciated for a long time to come.

This beautiful 9ft by 9ft square is located next to town hall and is a memorial to those lost to…read morethe epidemic and those who live with it. The 17 ton quartzite has a rippling sea look on top to represent the Provincetown waters surrounding it. This memorial is inscribed with "Remembering" on 2 sides. It's beautiful, powerful and soothing.
