This involved rerunning some of the current can lighting to account for removing two previous lights. I had gotten a few quotes from various companies, a few in-person estimates from people who just didn't seem to know what they were talking about as well. However, Dayton, not only was able to quote based on my photos, his in-person quote came in exactly the same and was one of the most reasonable ones we got. He is extremely knowledgeable, was happy to walk me through everything he was doing, made sure to check and double check exactly where I wanted all the new lights, and kept me updated throughout the few hours he was here. After everything was done, the space was clean and all the lights exactly where I wanted them. He went out of his way to deal with funky wiring without missing a beat, and even clearly labeled all the wiring so we were able to install the remainder of the lights in the new holes (we had ceiling work done ater the fact so we waited to install a few ourselves) with NO confusion at all. All in all, i definitely recommend Dayton of Ambidex for your electrical needs. We have a few other projects down the pipeline and some wonky (original builder grade) wiring issues elsewhere, and we'll definitely not hesitate to contact Dayton for all future work!

2 Stars I hired this…read moreelectrician after my existing EV charger outlet installation failed city inspection. He was hired to completely redo the EV outlet installation, handle the permit process, and get it approved. He completed that portion successfully. At the same time, I explained that I had 4 other existing outlets that were installed years ago by a different electrician who is no longer available. Since I needed a licensed/certified electrician to take responsibility and help get permits for that existing work, I discussed this upfront with him. I showed him the exact outlets involved before moving forward, and he agreed to handle this work along with the EV outlet project. I moved forward based on good faith and trust in his professional commitment and did not insist on documenting every detail in writing, which I regret now. My expectation was that a professional contractor would stand behind what was discussed and agreed upon. After completing the EV outlet work and receiving payment, I followed up multiple times regarding the remaining permit work. Eventually, he sent an associate to inspect the outlets. The associate identified one outlet that may not pass, and I agreed to remove that outlet and proceed with the remaining three since the feedback was that they should likely be OK. After that, communication stopped. My calls and messages were ignored. When I finally reached him, instead of working toward a solution, he told me he would not do the remaining work anymore and blamed the existing installation. I understand that existing work may have issues and that not every inspection outcome can be guaranteed. My concern is that the scope was discussed upfront, the outlets were shown before agreement, and I relied on his commitment to handle the permit process. Backing out after completing only the portion that benefited him left me in a difficult position. Based on my experience, I do not feel he was professional or reliable in following through on agreed work. If you hire him, I strongly recommend getting every part of the scope documented in writing before starting.
