I hired Ambidex electric to add two additional can lights and reroute my island light in my…read morekitchen. This involved rerunning some of the current can lighting to account for removing two previous lights. I had gotten a few quotes from various companies, a few in-person estimates from people who just didn't seem to know what they were talking about as well. However, Dayton, not only was able to quote based on my photos, his in-person quote came in exactly the same and was one of the most reasonable ones we got. He is extremely knowledgeable, was happy to walk me through everything he was doing, made sure to check and double check exactly where I wanted all the new lights, and kept me updated throughout the few hours he was here. After everything was done, the space was clean and all the lights exactly where I wanted them. He went out of his way to deal with funky wiring without missing a beat, and even clearly labeled all the wiring so we were able to install the remainder of the lights in the new holes (we had ceiling work done ater the fact so we waited to install a few ourselves) with NO confusion at all. All in all, i definitely recommend Dayton of Ambidex for your electrical needs. We have a few other projects down the pipeline and some wonky (original builder grade) wiring issues elsewhere, and we'll definitely not hesitate to contact Dayton for all future work!

I was told they could complete the installation within a month. First they delivered and placed the unit. Everything looked great. Once they called Duke Energy for the power drop we found out it would be a little longer than a month. So it took 6 weeks instead of 4. Hardly anything to worry about! They gave me the install date based on Duke's timing, showed up on time and completed the job more quickly than expected. They were efficient and neat, and left my property in good shape. They tested everything was working properly, showed me the operation details and answered all my questions. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND PowerMaster and would use them again, without hesitation.

During a repair visit, the tech told us our entire HVAC system was 12 years old and hinted we'd soon need a full replacement. In reality, only the condenser was 12 years old; the furnace was just a few years old. Dawson's quoted us $1,100 to repair the blower motor, but a second opinion from another company found the motor was still under warranty and got the parts for free, fixing it for about half the cost. Dawson's also tried to upsell us an air scrubber and surface UV system for $2,500. The second company pointed out these common tactics: overstating system age, pushing new equipment, and recommending expensive add-ons. The repair technician from Dawson's was kind and knowledgeable, and I don't think they're being outright malicious. But the overall approach feels designed to take advantage of homeowners who don't know the details of their system or warranties. It left me feeling misled and taken advantage of to boost Dawson's sales, not to give us real peace of mind.

From the estimate to the completion of service - they are professional, honest, and courteous. They are efficient and clean the work area when the job is complete. They make sure we are satisfied before they leave. Jay gave us several options for the work we needed to have done and gave us a good price for that service. He does not try to push extras on you that you don't need, which helps us stay within our budget. We appreciate working with an honest, friendly people. I wanted to get two electrical outlets installed outside and switches by the front door. I looked up the parts myself and it came out to around $100 in parts. They wanted to charge me $705.00 to do the work which results in about $605 labor for two hours of work. I asked them if they could simply drop the $65.00 dispatch fee for my home being more than 20 miles away and told the guy giving me the estimate they would still make $540 labor, he told me "no". He also said "You won't find anyone else to do this job any cheaper" which was a little rude. I called and got a few more estimates and got another company to do the job for $500, saving myself $205 dollars. Keep checking Google Maps and look at company reviews, then call a few. Sometimes other companies are willing to work with you a little more and give you a better price. While Express Electrical is fast, they have high prices and don't seem to want to work with you any.
