They left a card on my door so I scheduled an estimate with them and two others that had done the same. Appt was for 9 and 9:30 rolled around and no sign of them or calls so I called. The scheduler said they were 15 minutes away and that they had tried to call and although i was skeptical I told her to have them come by. 10:15 and still no sign of them which was 1h15 after appt and 45 after I called so I cancelled. I got a flyer on my door awhile back from these people so we tried them out to clear out some brush, trim a few trees and generally pick up a neglected back yard. At least 6 men showed up and were taken around shown exactly what we wanted done. It honestly wasn't that much work but due to personal physical limitations we needed help. They wanted $500 & tried to say it included the 20% discount on the flyer. When we said we wouldn't pay that they then said $400 was the price that included the discount. We told them "okay" but that we expected it all to be done WELL before we'd pay up. Not too long later the bell rang and they wanted their money. My 65 yr old mother went to check on the work and they literally had not done 1/2 of what was agreed upon. So she went back around and pointed out work that they "overlooked". I watched from the window as they rolled their eyes to each other, started calling her names in Spanish (which they wrongly assumed we didn't understand a word of), and then started telling her they couldn't "f-cking" do X now because the "sh!t" wouldn't be accepted at the "f-cking" landfill. Really guys?!? Do you talk to your mother this way and gang up to laugh at her? THAT is F-ing ridiculous. Thing is, I'd call to complain but if they'd act this way in front of our faces, what would they do if our back is turned? Lazy A-Holes. read more

I had been shopping around for a company to remove two large trees from my property and had received a variety of estimates. However, I noticed PRV Tree Service working in my neighborhood and so I looked over various reviews for them. They were very well regarded and so I contacted them for an estimate, and Pedro came out the next day and gave me an estimate - one that was less than half the cost of their competitors. I was a bit leery but because of their good reviews, I decided to go ahead. They have just completed the work today and I found them to be very professional, exceptionally hard-working, thorough, and very careful not to do any collateral damage whatsoever. Furthermore, they ground the large stumps thoroughly and removed some retaining walls at no additional charge. It was a pleasure to have them taking care of my property and I have absolutely no hesitation whatsoever in recommending PRV Tree Service very highly. When Pedro came to give me the quote I gave him several specific instructions on which branches I would like to keep and simply reduce the weight of so that they wouldn't be hanging as low. I wanted several of these branches in place for privacy to the bedroom. I think Pedro and I understood what I was asking and his notes related to the job seemed to explain that. Unfortunately, Pedro wasn't involved with the team that did the work and I'm not entirely sure how to explain that in Spanish. Apparently "raise canopy" means trim everything below 15 feet to some. When I got back outside, all of these branches were off, while the one that Pedro had actually marked for removal was still there. I had also asked for branches of all of the trees that were over the roof be trimmed. Pedro only noted the one in front and wanted to charge me more for the second. read more

I came to them due to the high ratings. The service I got was lack luster to say the least. I think people forget that 5 stars means everything was perfect which is next to impossible. I rated them as a 2 because they did the job there was good an bad but more bad. Good Tree's were trimmed and look great. Mowed the lawn even though it wasn't part of the quote - This was also a negative Leaves were relatively cleaned up not to my liking but after walking neighbors yards seemed comparable. Gutters were cleaned out Bad They blew the large river rock 2-3inch diameter rocks out of the rock bed and left them in the yard up to 2ft away from the bed. This was like just a couple got knocked over the edge there were a lot. Front door is covered in mud and grime from the gutter cleaning. Literally caked a half inch thick in places. Yard mowing was extremely uneven and cut way too short if this was later in the year this would be an extreme detriment to my yard possibly hurting the health of the grass. St Augustine in the shade should be 3-4" in length my yard is now currently 1-2" in length. They stated they were going to start at 3pm as I wanted to be home while they worked. Instead they did it sometime between noon and 3pm. I could have addressed these issues if they did what they said they were going to do and for the price that they charged none of this should have been an issue. Oh by the way the service guy came back at 9pm when my wife and I were already in bed to collect the money. This inconsiderate incident could have been avoided if they did the job when they said they were going to do the job. The guy that I pointed the above issues out too at 9pm didn't even offer to come back today to finish the clean up. This is a very wham bam thank you ma'am job with a very lack of attention to detail or pride in their work. The front door still sickens me that any service would leave a front door covered in mud from the gutters. read more

Had them come out and prune up the trees in the front of the house and clear out the last part of my land which had become overgrown and needed several trees to be removed. Plus they were to clean out my gutters. Their services for the trees and clearing was great. Met initially with the owner and we discussed the pruning in detail and what was needed on the back portion. His crew performed flawlessly on the trees and back area. However, which is why 3 not 5 stars, do not have them clean your gutters! They used a blower to clean them out and then any debris that was on the ground was blown away. But by using a blower, trash was sent every where all over the side of my house and glass front and rear doors. I now have to get a power washer to clean my exterior walls and doors. Trees - GREAT!! I live in Round Rock, Tx and there were trees (front yard - 2) damaged by a recent tornado (March 21, 2022). Contacted PRV to have the limbs trimmed and cutback. Received an estimate on the same day (March 22, 2022), PRV was notified. The work crew came on the date/day (April 5, 2022) that was scheduled. Amazing/Outstanding Crew! They cut and trimmed the trees, removed the broken limbs, picked up all the trimmings, swept and cleaned the driveway, and raked the yard. All team members worked together, professionally, and quite orderly. Without a doubt, 'Excellent' service! By the way, I used PRV service last year just to trim back the same 2 trees. This company mutilated, destroyed my evergreens. They were supposed to "trim" the dead branches and straighten the Italian cypresses that blew over from the storm. We had cancelled them because they were supposed to come at 1:30, then 2:30 and my husband cancelled them. They showed up after 4:30 while we were gone, we had our gates open because we also had painters painting the outside of the house. They came and hacked all of my cypresses, not just the dead leaves. The branches will NEVER grow back. My bushes that are over 18 feet tall are ruined. They hacked them where they are not privacy bushes any longer. Do not use these people! I'm so very upset and disappointed. read more

PRV left a flyer at my house so I decided to call them. I'd been putting off getting the large tree in my front yard trimmed, and called for an estimate. PRV trimmed the large tree in my yard, cleaned it up nice and trimmed it away from my roof. They cleaned up 2 crepe myrtles, took out a few trees that were growing along the side of my house and treated a large stump in my backyard. They scheduled all this on short notice (less than 24 hrs from estimate). My main complaint is that they were scheduled to come out at 1:30pm (I work late afternoons/evenings) but I was awoken to a chainsaw outside my bedroom at 9am. Pedro had called just after 7 (which I missed, because I was sleeping) and apparently their AM appointment was rescheduled for the afternoon, so they moved my job up. So I didn't sleep well. But they were efficient, and hauled off everything. Other than the things they did, can't tell they were here. Seemed a little expensive(but I am inexperienced with what this type of work typically costs) , and I didn't get the full benefit of the 20% off that I was supposed to get with the flyer. read more

PRV came out last year, charged $350 to clean up our trees in the back yard. My wife called and he quoted $400 to do less trees in the front yard. She said you charged $350 for more trees last year, he said ok will do it for $350. So comes out trims a few branches off and says there done. I said you need to clean these trees like you did last year, said would need another $400 for a total of $750. Keep in mind he did more work/trees last year on the backyard. I said too much, he said that things have gone up, I told him nothing has more than doubled in the last year. He then drove off with my $350. Never use these guys, but if you do, dont pay them until you are satisfied and never pay them in cash like I did, always use a check,.. My mistake, I should have known better. read more

A recent storm knocked over the top half of a very tall hackberry tree on the fence line of my property on Lake Austin. The situation needed to be dealt with ASAP. I called PRV, who had done some major tree work for me a couple of years earlier. I was pleased to find that they would be able to send a crew out to sever the broken limbs in the following days. First, tho, they sent out an appraiser. We talked over the phone because I live toward Waco. Using his phone to take pictures to show me all of the variables involving my many trees, we decided not only to have him take out the entire tree, including grinding away the roots but also to trim the other trees on my fence line, raise some canopies, and tidy up my decorative palms. As they had done years before, they were prompt and pleasant, very professional, quick about getting the job done, and cleaned up the whole area, hauling away two trailer loads of tree branches and debris. I made the drive down to Austin on the day scheduled for the work. By the time I got there, they had already finished the work and the property cleaning and were ready for me to just do a walk-through to give my approval. Again, I was pleasantly surprised because I didn't need to remind them of any of the many facets of work that we had agreed on over the phone. It was alllllll done to my satisfaction. Bravo! read more
