Always a little hesitant when trying a new spot on Ventura and having to deal with finding parking, but this location has a sizeable parking lot in the back. Yay! The interior is brightly lit and organized. The check-in process was straightforward, and there are cubbies to put your stuff in. If you're uncertain, they offer a free 3-day trial. I went on a "full-body workout" day. I wasn't sure what it would entail. My understanding is that the trainer makes the workout unique for each day, but I would have liked a better idea of what that may possibly entail. Perhaps a summary of potential exercises/equipment expected for the workout types? It's a mix of hiit and crossfit. Essentially, there are several stations and the trainer (in my class, Ricky) demonstrates how to do the different workouts, after leading the group through a warm-up session. I appreciated his energy, pushing us to meet the challenge and also ensuring we have proper form. Modifications were provided. The 1-hour workout definitely got my heart pumping and I felt great afterward. It can be intimidating trying out a new spot, but not only was the staff welcoming, fellow members were friendly and motivating. Weekday classes are mostly geared in the morning (between 6am to 9:30am) and evening (5pm to 7:15pm). There's some flexibility when it comes to the start time. So you'll still get an hour workout but it doesn't start on the dot. May not be ideal if you have a tight schedule. It also didn't seem like the equipment or the floor, at least the rubber flooring, didn't get wiped down before the next group began their warm-up. Given how much everyone sweats, it's a bit cringe to not towel it off. There are a couple of bathrooms where you can wash your hands after a workout. I definitely recommend trying this spot out. Welcoming and you'll have a great workout!

I love getting to push myself and decompress at PRVL! The trainers encourage you and call greatness out of you! All good vibes

Checked this place out on one of their lower body days. Was greeted and checked in by Heidi upon arrival, which was quick and easy. Waited a few minutes for the previous class to end their session and then was greeted with great energy by the trainer, Ricky. Ricky proceeded to demonstrate each step of about a 10 minute warm-up, which included use of resistance bands. I've never used these before, but I really enjoyed learning how to add these to an exercise routine. After the warm-up, Ricky demonstrated each of the stations for the workout and the best part was that he showed modifications for each exercise. This was very helpful for us as this was only our first class here. We started the workouts, which were TOUGH but Ricky was very encouraging without making us feel bad about our level of strength. He was very mindful of being equally attentive to us newcomers as his usual members, and tried to make sure we had proper form and knew the exercise. Ricky's great energy and positivity is what makes this place so great. He even hugged all of us as we were saying bye a if we were already his gym family!

I pride myself on not being super sweaty even after a hard workout, but it turns out I had just never worked out hard enough. Today that changed. I sweat in places i didn't know i could sweat. I questioned my life choices after every circuit station and was left shaking and out of breath by the end. Then I saw the sign by the front door that read "But did you die though?" And... I was like TRUE! All in all, 10/10 would recommend. The trainers and staff are all very welcoming, positive and encouraging as well. I'll be back... when I recover lol

Bathrooms are clean and always well stocked with hair ties and all the women necessities. The community is great. Parking can be a little though depending on the time of day because they're located right outside of the mall, but you always find a spot. Over all love this gym. Diana truly is a gem and makes the Pilates community come together. Thank you for your great service, Diana!

Been a member for over a year, so many mixed feelings about this gym…read more The best part is; Women's only! Amazing, have had amazing interactions and new friendships with the women here. The energy is great until recently, newer members can be rude and don't have common courtesy or gym etiquette. Keep in mind price is high, I pay almost $300 for the membership that does include spin and Pilates. But the class schedule now isn't the best. A lot of the OG good Pilates instructors have quit. Shani is definitely the best one still here. Jill's spin class is 10/10. But I don't see why the high price tag. A lot of machines are constantly broken. The bathrooms are constantly out of soap and toilet paper, and are dirty half the time. Classes get cancelled constantly. A few of the instructors are rude and hog gym equipment. Ash at front desk is the best and always so sweet, Skye and Dani have amazing strength classes but I can't make it half the time due to the inconsistency with child care, even tho Lupe is amazing with kids. But the rest of the staff can be rude and not accommodating. Always new front desk girls What brought me here originally was the kids club. As a new mom, this was the best opportunity. There is just no consistency and there's a lot of rules and regulations that aren't really discussed when you sign up. They advertise everywhere that they offer kids club but at least once a week, kids club is closed or opened late and a different time daily so I end up missing or being late to my scheduled classes. Originally I was taking 2 classes some days, being at the gym for over 2 hours, using the gym as therapy with new girlfriends. Then I was told I'm only allowed to use kids club for an hour and 15 minutes whether someone is in there to watch your kid or not. Which is not a lot of time. After an hour class, I barely have time to use the restroom and fill up my water before I'm texted to come pick up my daughter. Leaves me no time to use the amenities I'm paying for. There's no food or drinks allowed for the kids but it seems these rules are only targeted to certain members. A lot of moms have canceled their membership due to this and have gone to equinox which makes sense given we pay equinox prices. The communication in the gym is very poor. Classes with my favorite instructors are canceled with no explanation. Gym floor classes have been moved to an even darker corner with no ventilation or room for the class size it's intended for. A lot of the girls are from class pass and apparently can't use any basic amenities which again how is anyone supposed to know. There's no signs up or communication. It just seems to be one thing after another but I really hope they continue to try to make changes so they don't lose anymore members. I love it here and my daughter loves coming with me, it's just becoming more of burden as of late.

I called the dojo when my son was 3 1/2, and joining has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. I wanted my children to grow up in a positive, supportive environment like the one Shihan has created. Shihan and Sensei Marco are incredible instructors, bringing decades of experience, deep knowledge of martial arts, and a strong understanding of child psychology. I can't emphasize enough on their patience!!! Their dedication to both the art and their students is exceptional. With experience that spans Hall of Fame recognition in Europe and the U.S., they treat everyone in their community like family. I cannot recommend this dojo highly enough. My older child is now 8 and I have seen firsthand how Hiro Martial Arts has shaped his confidence, focus, and character. And now my little one is part of the group as well. The impact of their guidance goes far beyond martial arts skills -- it truly transforms young lives.

From the very first class, the instructors made our kids feel welcome, confident, and excited to learn. At the heart of it all is the Shihan, whose presence and leadership set the tone for everything at Hiro Karate. You can tell immediately that this is someone who has dedicated their life to the art -- and to passing it on the right way. The Shihan leads with authority but also with warmth, and the respect the students show is completely earned. Seeing our kids look up to someone of that caliber has been truly inspiring. What sets Hiro Karate apart is the incredible balance they strike between discipline and fun. The instructors have a gift for keeping kids engaged while instilling real values -- respect, perseverance, and focus -- that we see carrying over into school and home life. Our kids walk out of every class standing a little taller. The teaching style is patient, encouraging, and age-appropriate. No child is left behind, and every small milestone is celebrated in a way that builds genuine self-esteem. Watching our kids advance through belts has been such a proud experience for our whole family. The facility is clean, safe, and well-organized, and the scheduling is flexible enough to work around busy family life. It's clear that everyone here truly cares -- not just about karate, but about the kids as individuals. If you're a parent on the fence about martial arts for your child, stop thinking and just go. Hiro Karate isn't just teaching kicks and punches -- they're building character, and the Shihan's influence is at the core of it all. We couldn't recommend them more highly.
