The entire team - nurses, staff, and support personnel were all amazing. The food was great and the facility is comfortable and well maintained, which made her stay comfortable. In particular, Jessica, Michelle, Maria, Princes and Key xoxo and all the nurse staff provided exceptional care and kindness around the clock care. The physical therapists, Miss Elizabeth and Albert, were outstanding. They gave our mom the encouragement and support she needed to regain strength and independence. While she's taking small steps, we can already see her progress, and we're so grateful for their patience and guidance. We would highly recommend Courtyards at Pasadena to anyone looking for skilled, compassionate rehabilitation care.XOXO

The CNA's were helpful, busy, quick to respond, and easy to talk to. The OT and PT's were friendly, experienced, encouraging and skilled. The kitchen staff served hot, tasty balanced meals and would ask me what I would prefer. I felt more at ease and cared for at this facility than I did at the more expensive and higher rated one I had the previous year. It may be a little bit dated, but it is clean and the employees more than make up for any lack in newness. I especially appreciated how well the employees worked together without complaints, arguments, or gossiping in front of residents. My thanks to Tommy, Gloria, Josaphine, Rosalinda, Maria, Dawn, Walley, Esparanza, Victoria, and many others for their expertise, kindness, encouragement and patience.

The one nurse was very nice and competent;…read morehowever, my mother was in a facility and we did not receive any help or crisis care person when she was actively dying. I'm not convinced her medications were given properly or that she received medication as often as she should have. I can only pray that she was comfortable. I was not supported by hospice in anyway at the bedside as she was dying. The facility had called to ask for a change of order to meds every two hours and they were turned down, told they would not change the orders and that a nurse would be out at 8:00 in the morning. Mom died at 9:00 and the nurse came after that.

My mother fell on a Friday night and we called them; no answer. The people at the facility tried, and we continued Saturday and Sunday. Someone returned my call more than 48 hours after our first attempts to contact them. This was the second time we had been unable to reach them because of "phone problems". Pain and suffering is available 24/7; Hospice care must be as well.

At first the site looked and felt like this was the place for my family member. They start of right…read morewith all PT, OT, and speech therapist you name they have it BUT, its ONLY for about 4-6 weeks. then after that everything else fails. It's like they forgot how they got you in there in the first place..... Promises and reeling family members into that SHIT HOLE of a care facility. The don't care once you have signed all the paperwork, the already see dollar signs. My family member was in this place, and she was sick most of the time. No one would come after the call button not even her yelling for help. She laid in her own urine for 6 HOURS, and nobody checked on her until we the family members checked our cameras that we installed and found this out. That same night they dropped her in the shower, and she broke her shoulder. It was all downhill from here. She never really recovered from the fall. even after the fall NO physical therapy. She was in better shape before we had her admitted her into Sylvan Shores. Today we no longer have my family member with us after 2 months and if we would have known that this place would not be taken care of her like they said they would, we would have never put her in this place. And she still would have been with us. If you are thinking about putting your family member in this facility DO NOT!!!!!!! Horrible, Horrible, Horrible. My problem is getting in the place when you drive over an hour to get there . And no one is around to let you in before 8am . You either freeze outside in the winter or sweat to tears in the summer until someone comes to let you in . Another problem is getting my mom's food heated up . There is only one microwave in the Emplaye Lounge and they aren't happy when you come in to use it .It would be nice to have another microwave in another area of the place . Thank you !
