And I love it. I go straight to the dollar bins outside. There are about 10-15 bins of records loosely labeled with titles such as "Classic Rock" "Jazz" "Blues". Sometimes a white sticky note will inform you that each record is only 25 cents. I have walked away with 8 records for 2 bucks. Good records! The Doors, Beatles, The Who, Allman Brothers, Marshall Tucker Band, etc. etc. There are also some ridiculous options available as well, an unknown rapper from the mid 70's, another album I purchased simply because the record cover was 5 men in speedos and killer mustaches, and of course some holiday themed music. Really, can you beat listening to a lightly scuffed record, with a good whiskey, while cooking a nice meal? PS. Before making the trek here, check the hours. It closes early most days and is closed on Sundays, Mondays and Wednesdays. PPS. They also have a selection of current music records, VHS tapes, compact disc's and the classic cassette tape, available for purchase.

I reached out to a few places, but Canal Sound & Light were the only ones who could do it. That was my lucky break. Saturday before the event, the venue calls to say their HVAC system is busted and they need to move us to a different location down the street. Canal Sound & Light were awesome throughout. Even though I'd never organized a meeting like this, they identified what we needed, gave us a reasonable quote for it, made themselves available for setup and teardown before/after the event, and even adjusted the equipment rental and pricing on the fly when they realized we didn't need a TV because the new venue had one in place already. Everyone was super nice, clearly knew what they were doing, and yet never talked down to me. And the sound was so good, the remote participants could hear us better than we could hear each other in the room. @_@ The event was August 2022, but I realized I never wrote a review. They totally deserve 5 stars. I hope they never go out of business.

Placed an online order for an item. Never received a confirmation email. Strike 1…read more A week goes by and my credit card authorization hasn't turned into a charge and still no email so i call. Was told that the product just arrived at the warehouse and would be shipped out that day. Strike 2 -- dont show an item as in stock if you didn't already have it in stock. Two days later, still no email or tracking info, so I have to call again. Strike 3. This time was told by a different guy that my order was refunded because it was out of stock. But I check online and the product is showing as in stock still with a price 2x what I paid (now in line with the rest of the online sphere's pricing) -- idk how many strikes to count for these events but it would be several. Why am I being lied to? Why have I had to reach out every time instead of proactive communication from the retailer? Why was my purchase price not honored like any good retailer would? On top of that, the guy I spoke to the second time offered to have the guy from call #1 contact me as he was the one running point on all this of this and of course I never received a call. Bunch of lying cowards at the fulfillment department of this company. Everything you dont want in a customer experience. Would never spend a dime supporting a business like this.

I was thinking wow what a great price after googling title of film blu ray and the cinima classics store came up only a few links down. So i added it my cart, considered a few other titles and then checked out. None of the movies I looked at on the website said anything about whether the blu rays were in print of not. Days later i was sent a partial refund and told that I said I read and agreed to the fact that if I have never purchased from them before I must buy at least one in print title or my order would be cancelled. They then gloated about how I wouldn't find as good a price anywhere else and that they didn't know what I was thinking. So I responded that I felt that their email was kinda rude but I would order a second blu ray if I needed to but it was mot obvious that I was supposed to do that, nor was it obvious what was in or not in print. Alas when I went to the website the product was gone. I emailed to ask about it and they said they assumed I didn't want it anymore because I said they were rude. Didn't even read the whole email. If they are the type to reply to reviews I suspect they come at me with some nonsense here because clearly they can never be in the wrong.

It was closed for the night, but I vowed to remember to go back. It looked like my wet dream: classic old movies collected into one small store for my browsing and ecstasy. So, I went back weeks later. The cutest thing about this place is one person works there, and she actually has a sign that says, "Be back in 5 minutes" if she steps out to get coffee or use the restroom or grab lunch or whatnot. That's just cool. I love that carefree attitude when it comes to shops, it's so not stiff and whimsical. Anywho, as to the actual selection, it's solid if not out of this world. The problem with the store I feel is that it'll go out of business because there's too much competition around, and it doesn't help that a lot of old movies aren't on DVD yet, and more hard to find stuff from say, Bogart's catalog (all those actors were under contract and many of them did so many movies that most people haven't seen, they may have sucked but they exist). However, the great thing about the place is that for old movie lovers, to browse by director or actor or genre without all the fluff of crap that usually circulates a place like Kim's or the now not-there Tower, or Virgin, or whatever, it's an easy stop to make. In conjunction they press and present all sorts of film night type stuff in the city. The prices were about on par with any other store, which is expensive to say the least. But if I have a real urge and I'm in there area, I don't mind shelling out a couple extra clams at this place.
