Multiple perspectives Close observation…read more Targeted therapy Enhanced home program Rapid results After two hip replacement surgeries and physical therapy after them, but still having problem areas, my surgeon suggested that I try a different approach to physical therapy. I found Advance Physical & Aquatic Therapy. I could not be more pleased with my experience there. Multiple perspectives My intake process was supervised by the senior therapist. In addition, I worked with three other therapists. Each one of them made observations about my therapy and suggested specific alterations to improve the outcome. Close observation I was continuously observed, and corrected in the manner in which I performed the various therapies. In physical therapy, if you do not perform the exercises properly, you cannot get the maximum benefit. Targeted therapy In addition to such a general matters as balance and flexibility, as I progressed in therapy, the therapists found specific exercises which assisted me in solving my specific problems. After my two surgeries, although my leg lengths were physically identical, the abdominal wall on one side did not allow my leg to hit the ground as it should. One therapist came up with an approach which dealt with that specific issue, and which has now largely been resolved. Another therapist came up with a modification which allowed me to add that exercise to my home program. After the surgeries, I found it difficult to put on shoes and socks, because I could not rotate my lower limbs below the knee upward to the extent I should be able to do. A third therapist came up with an exercise which is massively improved that situation. For years before the surgery, I had been dealing with curvature of the spine. It had worsened to the point where it was difficult for me to button the top button on dress shirts.. Being increasingly bent over started to bring on esophageal reflux, which was extremely uncomfortable. Over the course of my therapy, not only was I given a general conditioning program, but I was given a very effective method to help ameliorate the curvature of my spine and the esophageal reflux. My situation has improved to the point where I do not have symptoms of reflux, and I can, once again, button the top button of dress shirts, and put on a tie in a proper manner. Enhanced home program Every physical therapy program with which I dealt has provided a home program, the participation in which is absolutely essential for progress in relieving any condition. Advance Physical & Aquatic Therapy took that process to a new level by the use of a specific app. The app not only lists the specific exercises to be performed at home but also lists the number of times the exercise should be performed at one time as well as the number of times per week it should be performed. The app also provides a short video, showing the exact matter which each exercise should be performed. Upon completion of the set of exercises, it sends a signal back to the assigned therapist. Rapid results I completed the program in under five months. Am I physically perfect now? No! But I leave the program, knowing that I have the knowledge of how to continue progressing, and how to maintain an increase my fitness. Prospective patients should also know that, in the event that they do not have access to their own gym, or have athletic equipment at home, there is an aftercare program available for people who want to continue at the facility.

Nic has given me exercises that I don't mind doing while at PT and at home, and has enabled me to continue running while improving my condition. Nic is equally great at working with athletes, wannabe athletes (like me), young patients (also like me), and older patients. I am incredibly sad that he is leaving the Center City location, but am excited for his next opportunity - opening an Excel in Lancaster. I will miss Nic tremendously, but look forward to working with his partner in crime, Brad, who is also great. If I could give Excel 6 stars, I would!

Our first visit to PPM was after my husband woke up on a Saturday morning and couldn't move his head--his neck was literally frozen in place. He was in so much pain he actually considered medication (which if you knew him you would know would mean he must be REALLY hurting!) Anyway, we looked up any chiropractors in the area who might have Saturday hours (since our regular guy was a M-F office in Center City). We stumbled upon Philadelphia Pain Management--which to our surprise was located just 2 blocks from our house. We called and they said no appointment was needed--we could just come right over. AWESOME! After filling out some standard paperwork we inquired about the cost. Although he would have probably paid anything to ease his pain, we were excited to hear that they had a "multi pack" payment option that gave us something like a dozen visits for $130?!? Wow! We had the option to go through our insurance but I knew there was no way our copay would be less than $20/visit so we opted for the multi pack. Best decision ever! A few short minutes later and he was on his way to recovery. Dr. Jim was polite, thorough, and incredible friendly. The office seems to typically deal with Workman's Comp and Auto Accident patients mostly so he left it at "come back when you need it"--something my husband liked very much (he hates the pressure to book his next appointment before leaving or needing to sign up for a some sort of chiropractic program). Anyway, after another visit and some electric muscle stimulation he was cured. Since then he has returned a few times, but in the meantime he has converted me to being a regular patient. I really liked that when I returned to see Dr. Jim for my own treatment he remembered me from Scott's visit. Impressive memory! I love the drop in policy and have never had to wait more than about 15 minutes (at the most!) Overall, I highly recommend Dr. Jim--not only is it affordable chiropractic care but the staff are great and it's super convenient.

So far I think it is medium size faciility and a lot exercise equipment (makes me feel like home) and physical therapy in the future for me. I love it because I am missing the gym so much after my incident. When you are use to being active any type of serious injury can make you feel like you lost control of your life. But god sends you a little help and pain management and physical therapy are a guiding light. Imagine the days when there was no rehabilition guidance...feel sorry for those who suffered so much. Today, Burlington Chiropractic Center figured it out in a single visit -- and they can actually fix me. They did a thermography scan and a moving X‑ray, and for the first time someone showed me exactly where my nerve was being pinched and where my disc wasn't moving. I've been in agony for months, becoming more limited by the day. After my adjustment, my pain was relieved almost instantly. It's not completely gone, but the improvement was so significant that I cried happy tears just to finally feel some relief. I am beyond grateful. Today was the first real hope I've had in months.

Pete welcomed me with shots of expresso to start our morning session. He is very knowledgeable in the field of physical therapy, especially treating sport injuries and rehab. He even took extra time to explain the most likely physiological cause of my pain in an easily digestible way. We went through several exercises and stretches to address each of the issues we identified.
