Lots of different sized tables. Ooh they have a shelf full of board games. Food: I don't drink but they have lots of craft beers and the couple next to me loved the amount they had on tap. When I first walked in the waitress walked by with what looked like a giant lasagna with salad and I thought oh I want that. When I looked at the menu I realized they don't have lasagna and I figured it must be the croques Monsieur. So that is what I ordered and that is exactly what came. It was very generous and full of cheese which was toasted golden brown it was really good. The salad was good too really fresh the dressing was good. I'm glad I chose it. Staff was nice. They spoke both French and English depending on what you were more comfortable with. I stumbled through French because I'm in Quebec I should speak French. Smack in the middle of Old Quebec, it was the easiest spot we could get that was dog-friendly. The place is nice, kinda dive bar-ish. Decent outdoor seating. The staff was friendly and accommodating. They immediately offered water to my dog. They were also attentive, but seemed to be a bit scatter-brained at times. Food was good. Bar food. Can't complain. You didn't feel horrible eating it. My husband and I celebrated his 50th birthday with a trip to Montreal and Quebec City. This quaint and friendly pub was just down the street from our hotel, so we stopped in on our first night. It was risky...we never go anywhere less than 4 stars and at the time of this review it was 3.9 stars! But the staff is A+, beer is fantastic and we have melted Brie with walnuts and honey as well as a smoked meat sandwich. Both were great and both served on or with baguette. Visiting this pub was one of the highlights of my trip to Quebec! Such a beautiful spot! I visited on a cold winter's night, and it was incredibly warm and cozy inside. Of all the bars in the area, Pub des Borgia had the best deal on the "pint and shot" combo that you will come across everywhere in Old Town - just $3 to add a shot of delicious local maple whiskey (on the side). Service was friendly, but I did need to go to the bar to order more drinks and to pay. No big deal. I didn't order any food, but it appeared to be the standard fried bar options. The only negative I'd say is that the food is made in the bar itself, giving the whole place a slightly unpleasant old oil smell. I really could've stayed here all night! The location was great and the patio was quaint. We were lucky to be under an umbrella as it was spitting on and off all day. My kids ordered European Hot Dog ($7) and potato chips ($4). Portions were very generous. Cocktails are $10 each and I found the Long Island to be tasty but lacking a bit in the alcohol taste. My partner enjoyed the homemade beer. The only downside was the lack of service. The person who seated us disappeared for about 20 minutes. My partner had to go inside to flag him down, who was hanging around. Multiple tables around us got seated but quickly left when he walked passed them without taking orders. We also had to pay right when we ordered and charged us gratuity. What a great little place! We stopped in twice on our 3 day trip, so comfy, friendly and warm. We lucked out and got the sofa next to the fireplace (which I highly recommend!) What an adorable little pub! This place reminded me of a little mountain ski lodge I would definitely pop in for a warm drink after a long day of skiing. It had that cozy, winter-esque, lodge feel to it. (By warm I also mean the place was legit 100F inside, and we were all shedding layers after 10 minutes of being inside the bar). Anyway, the servers were really friendly and the Canadian featured drinks were great. For some winter warmth, I highly suggest trying the Caribou, which is a Quebec drink made of red wine, hard liquor (usually whiskey) and maple syrup. It's served pipping hot and is delicious. We also did a few shots of their Canadian whiskey and maple syrup, which I loved so much I had to go on a wild goose chase to find it in their local package shop. We moved inside to discover it also had board games and the hockey game running in the background. The selection of beers is wide in range including local specialities. If you order a pint with a certain beers you get a maple flavoured shot for 3$. We played taboo and dominoes into the late night. There were food options available if you're hungry. Came down the stairs to find this little terrace with the overlook to the rest of Petit Champlain. We ordered a couple of St. Ambroise beers and fried cheese squares and kicked back to watch all of the pedestrian traffic. The selfie sticks, the small children, the bigger children on school excursions, the old and the young milling about the beautiful old city. Our waitress was lovely, and even humored me when I asked what the picture was of a car on the side of the mountain nearby. She explained the Funicular to me, and I was delighted to learn of its existence since there was no label as to what the heck it was on the map. We didn't get to spend much time inside, but the short walk through that I took to the bathroom showed a beautiful stone interior, the pictures do it justice. We came to this place because of the location. It is an amazing spot to people watch as it is at the corner of the busiest streets in lower Old Quebec. The beer was cold and there was a good variety but the food menu was small and not impressive. Nothing seemed made from scratch. I had the pizza and I think it was a frozen variety cooked on site. It was okay but nothing special. My husband had the smoked meat which was decent. It at least had a choice of mustards. It was probably one of the better choices on a lacklustre menu.
