Great spot for dinner. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was cozy and cute. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable.

Brie, spicy shrimp, duck wings appetizer trío

Stumbled in late on a Monday after an 8 hour ride from NY to QC. They were immediately able to seat us outside, among the other stragglers looking for a decent establishment open past regular dinner hours. Their menu is online via QR code, written in both French and English (for those such as myself whose French vocabulary does not go beyond greetings and essential phrases learned from duolingo) We got the appetizer trio and a few cocktails, all of which were good. We ordered the duck wings, spicy shrimp, and the brie. The brie was amazing! Served hot and nuts complimented the soft texture of the brie. Duck wings were also really good, but a little on the dry side. Shrimp was nothing too special but the sauce was good!

Awe-full service. Stood at the entrance for about 15 min until a server came and said hi and then we sat down. Took our order because we had enough time to thing about what we wanted to eat in that 15 min. Food came out. Good food thoroughly enjoyed it. Then we had limited cash we tried to give Caisse Jour a fiver as a tip and she made such a big deal about it wasn't a 15% tip. Whitest she didn't check on us once while we were having out food. I don't think we will ever be coming back.

Incredible gins! Try ALL of the house gins - they cover a broad range of palates and the staff will guide you towards the perfect martini for each. Also, fantastic food and ambience. Sit outside and admire the magic of this beautiful city at night. Cheers!

I gotta say, I was incredibly impressed with the cleanliness, Good Air Conditioning, and fantastic burger and fries! Great lunch spot with COLD Beer, poutine, several toilet facilities and their own Gin! Great bartender and waitstaff who are multilingual. This is a must go for a tourist or local alike!

Unique twist on pub food! So there were some Asian flavours. The cocktail drinks are cool too like mine was the Snowbird so it has raspberry sorbet in it! I loved all the shareables like the escargot one. So flavourful and umami. The mashed potatoes were also infused with truffle YAY. The vibes are super nice to drink to. Very comfortable seats

Had a great duck dish with some really nice wine. Ambiance was good, so was the service. All in all a very good experience here while visiting Quebec for my first time.

We had the seafood pizza and the pepperoni/pepper/mushroom pizza. It was delicious! Highly recommended!

I stopped in Livernois for a beer last week during my walk across Quebec City. The service was good and the beer was cold. I'm a photographer and found Livernois and Quebec city to be very photogenic.

Wonderful find! Stopped in on a Monday evening in July, around 8pm, after being turned away from ten other restaurants who were fully booked. We were seated on the patio and felt welcomed and comfortable. The restaurant was full and buzzing, service was a bit slow, but not as bad as done of the previous reviews report, perhaps they are picking up their game for the summer tourist season. We ordered the Livernois Coquille (classic French Coquille St Jacques) and the Korean Short Rib. Both were excellent and we would order them again. Portions were large enough to satisfy and not over the top. What you would expect from a French bistro for a hearty meal. The Coquille had a light seafood taste, the ingredients were distinct to enjoy and brought together baked in a lovely sauce and au gratin. The Korean short rib was a surprise, not a typical Korean cut, rather a big piece of boneless rib flavoured with Korean influences. A melt in your mouth, perfectly cooked, braised beef rib experience. One of the best beef ribs I've had in years!

We had drinks tonight here and it was an absolute pleasure. We sat at the bar and Luke was our bartender. He was great, personable, and fun to watch as he made drinks. We had a grande margarita and a vodka/ cucumber drink. Both were so good. Then we topped it off with a shot of Stroopwaffle which was so good. Don't miss this place!

We only did a gin tasting, but boy was it awesome! Five kinds of gin with three kinds of tonic water. Inexpensive too! Our bartender was great, with loads of suggestions. Nice place to sit and get out of the heat as well. We did sample some food as part of a tour, and it was just ok.

We so enjoyed sitting on the patio, it was a beautiful day, we were people watching and enjoying the umbrellas place up the alley. Our poutine was delivered to the table and I can honestly say it was our favorite. The fries were crunch and creamy on the inside. The gravy was rich and had a deep flavor and the cheese curds had lightly melted. Every bite was perfect. The eatery and bar are tucked into a stone house that dates back to 1668, if only the walls could talk. The bar and restaurant feature local Quebec cuisine and is a gem. The service was excellent as was the atmosphere.

Ambiance and service were great. They accommodated our awful French attempts. Drinks were large. Honestly, I feel lucky to have dined here. Everything was wonderful!

There was a jazz trio playing -- two elderly men on guitar and bass, and a younger fellow on the drums. They were rocking it. The crowd got pretty into it too, applauding the solos, swaying, and tapping their feet, without really getting disruptive. It's a good environment for this sort of music. A lot of jazz bands in bars and restaurants tend to sort of blend into the background, getting just a smattering of applause from the nearest table. It was nice both the musicians and patrons at Le Fou-Bar enjoying themselves. Besides the music, it seems like a pretty standard-issue bar. Not unpleasantly loud or crowded, even with the music. A bunch of beers on tap, mostly from Montreal's McAuslan brewery. The French reviews mention a large whiskey collection, but I didn't inspect it closely. I also saw a food menu, though I didn't see anyone eating from it, so it may be prudent to get your dinner elsewhere. The clientele seemed mostly local, and French-speaking, though the staff did speak more English than I spoke French. They did not seem to mind my non-Francais-parlezing ways. So basically, these five stars are not really for the food or drink or service (which seemed standard), but for being a fun, casual spot to listen to some good live music. From what I can decipher on the website, they have someone playing at 9pm every Tuesday.
