After a long days drive from of walking- both upper and lower parts of old downtown Quebec ended up here. Patio on nice summer day, some draft beers and great people watching. Good service.

I was determined to find a wine bar to visit during our time in Quebec City and someone pointed me here. Despite being October it was nice enough out that we could eat on their patio, which was very small but charming. I didn't see the inside. We had a couple glasses of wine as well as cheese and charcuterie boards. It was exactly what I was looking for, though I do wish trying wine flights was an option.

What a great place! Came on recommendation from my hotel for their poutine! It did not disappoint! Very authentic. Service was great. It is very cozy inside. Definitely recommend

Enjoyed some whiskey while sitting on the lovely patio. Service was friendly and quick. Ambience is welcoming - inside is a small and cozy. Highly recommend this place as it is 'ever so slightly' off the beaten path.

This place is the real deal. Simple cheese plate with so much happening in an old low wooden ceiling space. Marinated red onion on spring greens with cheese called CHEVAL NOIR DE L'ISLE - one of the best I've ever tried - ashed bloody rind for a semi-soft cheese goodness. Also, smallest kitchen Ive ever seen and the Chilean chef does his thing!

A little stiff staff who reversed to English even when spoken to in French. There is indoor and outdoor seating but nearly no one sat inside due to the nice ambiance of the outdoor seating. It's rather small with only a few tables both inside and out - many of the outdoor tables are in direct sun even with the umbrellas. Tables outside are right next to a beautiful walkway decorated with hanging colorful umbrellas which makes for a spot for instagram photos - many people stopped and took photos while we were eating. Indoors is very dark and has a few tables and a bar. There is also a small restroom inside. Fondue appetizer - excellently done, if a little on the greasy side. Served with a side of bread cubes and you can add on a sausage. The sausage is impeccable, but I would've preferred an option to add a plate of veggies/fruits as well. Topped with a single pecan. They also carry peroni and serve them in lovely tall glasses. Light and airy beer. House salad is so fresh and comes with a lovely vinaigrette and a lovely mix of pecans and dried cranberries. Highly recommend this.

The best cheese fondue Do not miss the beer sausage Original stone and wood work dating the 1600s Professional service that was tolerant of my poor attempt of speaking French.

    Classic poutine

A small pub in "Umbrella Alley", featuring a small, but great selection of food, with a wide variety of drinks. We had the classic poutine, and a board with sausage, sauerkraut, liver pate and smoked meat. Both dishes were great, and service was quick and friendly.

Stopped in for a beer on a mid afternoon weekday in February. Beautiful stone walls, it is like you are entering a cave. We sat at the bar and enjoyed a couple of local craft beers. Very friendly staff. We didn't have anything to eat but did admire the small cooking area. Wow!

This place was perfect to stop in and have a drink and appetizer while touring old Quebec! The waitstaff was so attentive, it was a lovely experience.

Great service. Very welcoming. The food was cooked right in front of you behind the bar. They have quite a system. So much flavor! Simple menu yet loaded with care and flavor!

Almost at the entry to old town they entice you with a dinner special. This place is an absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, the vibe was perfect -- warm, welcoming, and full of energy. The staff went above and beyond, super friendly and genuinely happy to be there (which says a lot). They also spoke English which helped out a lot. Now the food... unreal. Everything we tried was bursting with flavor, perfectly cooked, and beautifully presented. You can tell they care about quality and consistency. The beer selection. Over 200 beers on tap and in bottles -- local brews, imports, seasonal picks -- literally something for everyone. The bartender knew his stuff and even helped us find the perfect pairings for our meal. Between the amazing food, the unbeatable beer list, and the great service, this place checks every box. Definitely my new go-to spot for dinner, drinks, and good times with friends. 10/10 -- Can't wait to come back!

When I first walked in the waitress walked by with what looked like a giant lasagna with salad and I thought oh I want that. When I looked at the menu I realized they don't have lasagna and I figured it must be the croques Monsieur. So that is what I ordered and that is exactly what came. It was very generous and full of cheese which was toasted golden brown it was really good. The salad was good too really fresh the dressing was good. I'm glad I chose it. Staff was nice. They spoke both French and English depending on what you were more comfortable with. I stumbled through French because I'm in Quebec I should speak French. There was a jazz trio playing -- two elderly men on guitar and bass, and a younger fellow on the drums. They were rocking it. The crowd got pretty into it too, applauding the solos, swaying, and tapping their feet, without really getting disruptive. It's a good environment for this sort of music. A lot of jazz bands in bars and restaurants tend to sort of blend into the background, getting just a smattering of applause from the nearest table. It was nice both the musicians and patrons at Le Fou-Bar enjoying themselves. Besides the music, it seems like a pretty standard-issue bar. Not unpleasantly loud or crowded, even with the music. A bunch of beers on tap, mostly from Montreal's McAuslan brewery. The French reviews mention a large whiskey collection, but I didn't inspect it closely. I also saw a food menu, though I didn't see anyone eating from it, so it may be prudent to get your dinner elsewhere. The clientele seemed mostly local, and French-speaking, though the staff did speak more English than I spoke French. They did not seem to mind my non-Francais-parlezing ways. So basically, these five stars are not really for the food or drink or service (which seemed standard), but for being a fun, casual spot to listen to some good live music. From what I can decipher on the website, they have someone playing at 9pm every Tuesday.
